  1. I agree with this. We can relate to program turn arounds....and there will be haters (as you can see in this thread), old money always hates new money is what Grandpa used to always say. Coach Gibson deserves a lot of credit, I am sure the community is going crazy. That said Duane Potts is a stand up dude and was one of the most passionate football players I had the pleasure to suit up with.
  2. Side note. I have a great relationship with many SIAC guys. I have to say that SOME of these Memorial guys are like the girlfriend you broke up with that still still stalks you even though you could care less what she is up to now days. Perhaps we can get a restraining order? 😆
  3. As you know the SR offense presents unique challenges that to me are harder to prepare for than a team that does the similar stuff to what your own squad does.
  4. I wanted to say this but haven't had time. My son is a Junior football player on the current team. We played the VL guys in the same class (2024) no less than 8 times from 3rd through 8th grade (I think we had the edge on wins in that time but just barely). During that time we got to know their staff/Dads really well. I can tell you that they remind me a lot of us when we started our stuff in the TYFL in 2001. They are good men doing the work of God if you ask me, cultivating young men to be great leaders, husbands and fathers. We formed a competitive bond and they still communicate with me to this day. The fruit of their labor is paying off. Coach Salters should be grateful for them and I am sure he is. Look for good things from VL in the coming years.
  5. I would hate to speculate...but we can look at Calpreps. neutral field [2021] Gibson Southern (Fort Branch, IN) 44, [2022] Gibson Southern (Fort Branch, IN) 26
  6. No one said all 500 plus yards were all in three plays. Are you seriously going to compare our schedule with theirs...really? It is amazing how non-productive those SIAC offenses were against VL. I admire the OV area teams pulling for them on this thread. The hate from the SIAC guys...hoping we lose and hoping to prove to the world that Memorial should be in 3A and any success that GS has is because they aren't is the best thing EVER! OV is a quality football team and this should be a heck of a game! Harrison, Bosse, Central....equals no weeks off for the SIAC! With all this free rent perhaps we can build some condos!
  7. Yes the team that GS put 21 more points on that any team in the SIAC...yes that one. I think 4 plays made up over half their offense. We have a couple things to clean up. Seems like its three and out or 50 yard TD....not much in-between. The free rent we get in some SIAC guys heads is wonderful. Isn't there an SIAC thread you can go talk about how Memorial is better than their record in?
  8. After watching the OV film against MV...the only defense that needs some serious adjusting or need to worry about tempo is the OV defense. MV moved the ball up down the field ....just couldn't execute in the red zone. MV moved the ball Zero...actually less than zero against the GS D. On the wishbone piece...thanks to our friends at HH. We know a thing or two about defending that. No one has been able to drive the football consistently against the GS defense this season tempo or not (lots of depth on that GS D line), there is no doubt the OV offense is NOT the best running office the GS defense has seen. Not even close. I would equate the OV offense to being close Boonville. If GS stops big chunk plays, the game will be played on OV side of the field.
  9. #1 was a theory for a while in 2020...but later was revealed to be incorrect. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/val-kilmer-im-your-huckle-bearer/
  10. So when you first log in there is an Indiana basketball Forum…you should check it out.
  11. I personally never said that SOS didn’t matter, but what I did say is that many teams in the state including some in the PAC have shown that they can go deep in the tournament with not the greatest of schedules. So it’s obviously a good thing if you can and do take the opportunity to beef up your schedule.
  12. It took OV four quarters to achieve that score vs MV. I don’t have the MV offensive production (yet) but it was significant. MV had negative yardage against GS in the first half and the GS starters were out after one possession in the third quarter. MV ended with 117 total against our JV. Number 1, 3 and 27 look like solid players. Anything can happen in HS football, but I feel really good about this one.
  13. It was amazing how much they evolved from week 1 to the playoffs last year. Kind of like Memorial this year.
  14. Now that's a strong vote of confidence! "when"
  15. I feel like Lawrenceburg is definitely in the conversation.
  16. Lutheran 25-0 Gibson Southern 24-1 Linton 20-1 WL 19-1 Adams Central 23-2 Center Grove 21-2 Hanover Cent 23-2 Cathedral 21-2 Roncalli 21-2 Owen Valley 20-2
  17. I will reserve my thoughts until I watch film, as the SIAC guys have told us over and over ..10-0 can be misleading.
  18. Game time is 7:00 CST 8:00 EST Sagarin: Gibson Southern (71.93) is a 6.5-point favorite vs. Owen Valley (63.71) and has about a 62.03% chance of winning (1.82-point home-field advantage).
  19. I really don’t know if he still coaches or not, but used to and it’s basketball.
  20. Also on the trick play for the long score...VL only had 6 guys on the line. Refs also admitted this miss....that's two of the three long scores.
  21. Also on the big 4th down run by Hunt the ball hadn't been blown ready...our kids weren't even ready. The refs even said they should have called it back. Probably a 4 score game then.
