Indy Lutheran Legitimacy

Lutheran would easily win 2A in my opinion and East Central/Charard could win 5A. Any others that could step up a class (or two) and win the title? -
Mid-State/NLC Chaos
temptation replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Meanwhile, the leader in the Mid-State has lost to the second place team, blew out the third place team and was a missed FG away from losing at home to the last place team. -
I know I sometimes get caught up looking at box scores as it’s impossible to see every team in person but damn. Some folks questioned Lutheran’s omission from Temp’s Top 25 and I scoffed at the time. Not anymore. They’ve dominated everyone in their path including what I consider damn fine teams in Triton Central, Scecina and Monrovia by a combined score of 134-41! While I don’t have em top 25 (yet) they are getting damn close. As one who often focuses a lot of his attention on 5A/6A teams which I feel I know best, thought this squad deserved a special shout out. Good luck 1A…

Anyone wanna try to handicap these conferences with two weeks left in the season, lol? Nearly impossible to rank em even after 7 weeks.

And barely got in with 10...what's that tell you?

In the preseason, I set the O/U on Avon wins at 2.5 and you said “the new coach would get them 2 more wins than I am giving them credit for.”

Not a rule maker by any means but so many folks get their panties in a wad because I describe myself as an “unbiased official.” The reason I do so is because I have absolutely no allegiance to any IHSAA member school including the one which I attended and the one who sends me bi-weekly direct deposits. Most “fans” on here have loyalty to a particular program in one way or another and the fact that I don’t, combined with my brash nature and the fact that I don’t care about folks’ feelings, rubs people the wrong way. Also, his “opinion” sucked. Even you have to admit that. It was a lazy, childish middle school lunch room style jab based in no evidence. Carmel is “good.” Center Grove is GREAT. Comes across as weak on his part.

30-6 on the season... Carmel @ Ben Davis: Gonna find out more about the Hounds week by week as their lone two losses remain to out of state schools. I don't think they are a title contender but also do not view them as a pushover. BD put to bed any speculation that they were regressing after an absolute mud stomping of what I consider a good LN team last week. I think the Giants take care of business at home here. BD wins 34-17. Center Grove @ Pike: The Trojans returned to "the MIC" last week with a road win at LC whereas Pike dropped one at Warren. CG can name its score here, setting up the cellar battle next week between Pike and North Central. I'll say CG wins 48-6. Lawrence Central @ North Central: A get right game for the Bears after hosting the three time defending state champions last week as NC will provide little resistance. Gimme LC 34-13. Warren Central @ Lawrence North: The battle for the runner-up spot in the conference should be a good one. Not sure Warren's QB is healthy yet after sustaining an arm injury against Ben Davis. Lawrence North played its worst game of the season last week at home against Ben Davis. I expect this to be the best game of the bunch Friday and will take LN in a close one, 24-20. What say you?

26-6 on the year. Franklin Central @ Fishers: Momentum for the Flashes as they have won two in a row whereas Fishers bounced back last week with a narrow win over Avon. Possibly the two most improved teams in the conference and I still think the Tigers are a dark horse representative for the north if the bracket falls correctly. I see this one close early before Fishers pulls away late. Tigers win 30-17. Noblesville @ Hamilton Southeastern: I thought the Millers had turned the corner (again) and picked them for a mild upset at FC last week but it just didn't happen. HSE went on the road and took care of a solid Zionsville team. I think the Royals win here fairly comfortably. HSE wins 34-20. Westfield @ Avon: No one needs to see the field sooner this week than Westfield who absolutely laid an egg in front of a capacity house last week against Brownsburg. The Orioles are improving but just can't get over the hump. I think they see an angry Shamrocks squad with a chip on its shoulder. Westfield rolls 38-14. Zionsville @ Brownsburg: The Eagles are good enough to give anyone in the conference a scare but this Brownsburg team just feels different. I don't think they are reading their headlines after the way the past few seasons have ended. I expect a focused Bulldog squad here. Brownsburg wins 30-14. What say you?
