Evansville Christian is not hurting Memorial. SIG has hurt Memorial far more. We saw enrollments in feeder schools dropping years ago, which is the lifeblood of any parochial school. Now the numbers should start trending up. The non-Catholic tuition being so high is one factor.

It's the only game left that should be competitive. It's unlikely the North and Lincoln games will be very close.

So you will take Reitz +17.5?

Personally, I think MV is overrated. Barely beat a zero win Boonville and barely beat HH despite HH having 5 turnovers. GS feeds them a running clock in 18 minutes. I think HH is a better team than MV and BV.

Harrison over Central 27-23 (second-best game of the week) Memorial over Reitz 47-7 (Tigers continue rolling through the soft part of their schedule) Mater Dei over Bosse 28-18 (Bulldogs have a couple dawgs that could give Wildcats some trouble) North over Lincoln 31-10 (Huskies should have no problem) Castle over Jasper 24-23... Although it will make me throw up in my mouth, I'll go ahead and say it.... GO CASTLE!!

As for the topic... I have not seen either GS or Brebeuf, but it sounds like it would be a great match-up.

I say the chances of this happening in the next 50 years is less than 1/10 of 1%. Memorial and Mater Dei are supported by a fairly large number of feeder school parishes and a few non-school parishes that all pay an assessment (tax) each year to help keep tuition as low as possible for Catholic families. And even with that, tuition has increased significantly in recent years (by almost 100% over the past 8 years). There just aren't enough parishes in northern Vanderburgh County or southern Gibson County to support a third HS. I suspect if the diocese even announced they were considering building a third HS, there would be a lot of push-back. Parishes already complain about the current assessment, much less if they had to pay more to support a third school. You also have to remember that unlike the Vatican, no diocese is sitting on a pot of gold (at least not the Evansville diocese). It would take a significant amount of capital to build a new school, which could only come from private donations. The Bishop would get an ear-full from the high-level Memorial and MD donors.

MV has improved, but not enough to make this a competitive contest. GS rolls 48-6.

ND lost to Tecumseh. Linton rolls in a homecoming party..

All from private donors, just like everything else that is athletics-related...

Of course I realize both transferred from Bosse, Coach, but it wasn't this year. I have no issue with the transfers to GS. I think any kid should be able to transfer wherever and whenever he or she wants, for whatever reason.

Linton was actually in the SIAC before Memorial. They were members from 1936 until 1951. Memorial was finally allowed in 1947, five years after the IHSAA bigots finally allowed Catholic and African-American schools into full membership. Now you're not just a hat rack...

Me neither. Give QB1 all the reps until the starters are pulled. The schedule gets a little softer the next few weeks, so he'll get the kinks worked out and be ready for Castle in Wk. 9.

I don't think I can remember a time when MD did not come out ready to play the week after a game like last week. Coach G seems to have soften a little bit (at least publicly) but I suspect he peeled some paint off the walls the last few days.

I haven't seen any film and won't, but playing past the whistle is not inherently dirty in my opinion unless its coupled with something more, like taking a guy backwards over the pile, etc. Finishing a pancake block after the whistle is not dirty. I tend to think that with the increased emphasis on player safety, officials seem to be keeping a tighter reign on things and are generally pretty quick to call a PF to keep things in check.
