  1. 3A. Southridge. Heritage Hills is the favorite out of the south but Southridge had them 7-7 at the half before the flood gates opened and Southridge also had Gibson Southerns number this last Friday for 44/48 minutes. it took a miracle from GS scoring with 4 minutes left getting a stop and then with 12.5 seconds left hitting an 88 yard touchdown on 4th and 10 + a broken philly special for the 2 to beat SR 22-21. they have the easiest path to a sectional championship for 32 and will likely face either Heritage Hills or Gibson Southern again and I’m sure neither GS or HH want to face SR again. They will come hungry and with a massive chip on their shoulder
  2. Yeah it’s been like that for a while. The best years they have had are the ones where they have a 3-4 year starter as their feature weapon. I really don’t know what to say other than they just need more numbers and keep the numbers up for a sustained 3-4 year stretch. even when I played for GS, prior to the Coach Hart era where GS was finishing 4-6/4-7 year in and year out, Pike Central was homecoming and always a blowoutp.
  3. http://www.pacsports.us/history/Champions19.pdf here is a document showing all the PAC champions in boys and girls sports over the course of the PACs history. Outside of some 70s 80s 90s once in a decade classes and the swimming team, the school as a whole has struggled. It’s not just football. it certainly doesn’t help that Heritage Hills has dominated across the board for years and Southridge too. More recently Gibson Southern has become a powerhouse....but Gibson southerns strength is more so in Girls sports than boys. Obviously Gibson Southern has some great boys programs like wrestling and football, but year in and year out the girls sports do well across the board
  4. North Posey is typically a very strong team. I would consider north Posey and Southridge pretty similar in terms of program strerngth historically but Southridge gets the nod still. PC has had a rough go of it though. And frankly you can’t win if you only have 25 kids for a fully healthy team. I’m hoping the new conference alignment next year will get things going for them. They are also playing a bunch of freshman so by the time they are upperclassmen they should be very experienced. Let’s just hope they can get their numbers up to 50 or so and then can get some smaller schools on their schedule for good competitive games
  5. I believe another mine out in that area is closing down too. I recall seeing a thing about 200 or so employees learning they are laid off. meanwhile just south in Gibson county, Toyota continues to grow and the surrounding areas are developing. Gibson Southern theoretically will see the most of the growth but Evansville North is literally 10 miles down the road on 41 and princeton is only 4 miles away if that
  6. Agreed. The offense looked in sync and were a well oiled machine. Might be the raiders but the way they won was a statement victory
  7. Well it’s officially sectional week
  8. I’m kinda in shock. GS had no business winning it but found some magic. to hit an 82 yards pass and catch with 12.5 seconds left and get the 2 for the win...unreal
  9. Gibson Southern wins over Southridge 22-21...15 points in 4 minutes in a game GS had no business winning. SR had their number for 44 of 48 minutes
  10. Gibson S hits an 82 yard pass and catch with 12 seconds left....go for 2. Get it! 22-21 GIbson Southern
  11. Southridge 7 GIbson Southern 0 at the half Southridge defense is playing great. Game should probably be 14-3 at the half In favor of SR. GS passing game just flat so far tonight.
  12. My Vernon (Posey) and Jasper are playing for the Big 8 championship tonight. mt Vernon has never won the Big 8 conference title and this is last year of the Big 8. Jasper currently up 6-0
  13. I just looked at the roster. By my count I see 15/16 starters who are seniors, this includes the kicker. if I’m not mistaken HH has more...or at least they have more positions to fill next year with how they play guys both ways more often
  14. There is a lot of talent in the younger guys but the 3 WRs are seniors. Delong, May, and Butler....then you have Spindler at RB...I think there are 3LBs who are seniors....Stefanich at Safety. I think the d line has a guy or two there too. OL I think has 2...Center and I think one of the tackles. overall, I’m super GS will be just fine and the younger guys have stepped up in places. But make no mistake, this senior class is a really strong class. as the saying goes though. Good programs don’t rebuild, they reload
  15. He was producing in Oakland. But the raiders drafted Renfrow and he has looked good. At some point Oakland had an injury to deal with. I think it was their LBs and they had to make room so they released him. I have Renfrow on a few of my fantasy teams so I followed the situation a bit. overall he is a decent WR. Mostly a slot guy. Nothing flashy or something to get pumped about....but for a depth guy who you can lean on for production, I like the move
  16. Bring on the 5 way tie!
  17. King is just always battling soft tissue injuries. Groin issues especially...I haven’t seen anything about him being finished but coming into the year I already gave up on him. Should have drafted watt lol. I think without king the packers are fine. But they have to continue to wreck OL with the pass rush. Force throws...limit time at all costs. (I say all this knowing damn well the packers could put another “Gunter” 1v1 on a julio Jones level player and just get burned all game....RIP 2015 Super Bowl chances)
  18. That may be...but WL has been in the state finals the last 2 years and still has Adams. They also have Yanni who is rumored to be just as good has his older brother. The lafayette schedule isn’t exactly a slouch. with that said....3A has been a unique class over the past decade and while yes SoS matters, the class is loaded with talent and great coaching. Never just bank on tough schedules and how they fair. Chatard definitely won’t be overlooking anyone
  19. Speaking of them. I said it last week and it should be said again. They should be ranked higher. At least this week they are 10. only loss was to Heritage Hills and they had the game 7-7 at the half. Then heritage hills scored 5 times in 15 plays. 7-1 only losing to a super talented senior led #3 HH squad. they face #5 GIbson Southern this week
  20. I honestly wouldn’t know without looking. I don’t really follow the area too much. My Friday’s are here following Indiana football and Gibson Southern haha. the only thing I know for certain is Kimberly is better than everyone....I’m sure they are preparing to make it 6 in a row at Wisconsin’s top level
  21. Agreed. Bosse right now is the closest hope to that. Other than that, we either wait 2 years and see memorial back in 3A or we could see HH/GS/SR in 4A if they can get 2 deep runs going. unfortunately I think it’s more likely memorial stays up in 4A and nobody bumps up to 4A out of the PAC. im actually curious to see how 2020 pans out. GS and HH will lose a TON of kids to graduation. GS has a bunch of WRs and defense graduating as well a RB and others. I’m not too sure who HH loses all together but I know they have a special senior class too.
  22. This is kinda what I’m getting at. We shouldn’t say some teams play “real” football and others don’t based on scheme. And even more, to base that position on the number of division 1 athletes is kinda absurd. I only mentioned it as to play devils advocate and say “well even if we were to say college offers determined this, I don’t think there is that big of a difference from the SIAC to the PAC/Big 8/other area conferences”. great players on great teams get noticed...and there are a lot of great teams in high school running the wing T and bone
  23. 3A will be the survivor of 28 vs Mishawaka Marian lol. Chatard is probably the favorite but nobody is sleeping on WL and for good reason. If Guerin or Brebeuf win the sectional they should be the favorite....and then there is Hamilton Heights and Yorktown I believe who have been great in the past and may be getting overlooked.
  24. So what happens with the rankings if there is a 5 way SIAC conference title? How do we rank them then? Heritage Hills # , 5 SIAC teams tied for #2 and then the winner of GS/SR #3? Lol
  25. Any insight on Joe Strickland? I believe that’s his name. If I recall he is the only officially ranked prospect for the class of 2022 in Indiana....yet I have seen little about him on the board. But by all accounts of what I’m seeing, he is a great defensive end and only a sophomore
