It’s pretty much how Coach Hart has done it his entire tenure so far. There are definitely exception. I think mostly, it’s a numbers thing. There are 90 kids 9-12 on the team this year. in the past...I wanna say Griffin Scheller was probably the most notable player to play both ways. Dominant DB and could go all the way to the house on offense whether he was carrying the ball or receiving it. I would tend to think this year GS is playing more kids both ways than they typically do. At least in a situational standpoint. Seth Delong has played CB some this year even though he is the leading WR. Caleb Sellers has been playing LB and TE. All in All I think it just comes down to scheme. HH likes to wind the clock down and then hike the ball. Rinse repeat. If they have the players who can play both ways (which they obviously do) it makes perfect sense. For GS running the up tempo, it’s probably not ideal to run a play every 9/10 seconds and then have the same kid play defense. All about fresh bodies

To be clear Southport is really unknown with its matchup with chatard. Chatard fans here on the board even have said after the game they don’t know what to think about it because Southport was without their QB and DT due to injury and there were 2 other players on defense who missed that game due to being ejected during the GS game. for all we know, Heritage Hills may be the top 3A team and Chatard had a looks good on paper game. Chatard probably would have won against Southport either way, especially considering how they played cathedral, but I wouldn’t draw any real conclusions about the Chatard vs Southport game. Chatard fans themselves are not too sure what to make of that game.

Ummm...by my accounts this thread is for Charlie Spegal. I don’t give a hoot about cathedral tailgates, who played on their JV team for 4 years or about Center Groves team. on topic, I seen something about Spegal being offered from Indiana...or maybe they were pursuing him heavily. But I’m not seeing an offer on 247. Is this a preferred walk on like Tennessee

Thank you. I knew I recognized the name

I know it may not be on topic completely but...isn’t Kyle King being looked at heavily by D1 schools? Or is that someone else

They certainly had a chance to bring it to 21-28 in the 3rd quarter. But you just can’t turn the ball over like they did against a good team like HH. that and you have to be able to stop the run. I don’t have a vote in the All PAC voting but I think it’s pretty clear that Sigler is the MVP of the PAC. He is the best player on the field. It doesn’t matter if he is on offense, defense, or special teams.....in many ways, he reminds me of Kenton Crews...just perhaps even more versatile

Imo LSU is the best SEC team and might be good enough to be ranked 1st. 1A LSU 1B Alabama 3 Ohio State 4 Clemson LSUs offense is no joke. The fact that they are a passing team now and by far one of the absolute best at it is scary for the SEC

Honestly I have been thinking similar recently. There is a....certain aggressiveness...to the way Bob calls the game. I live out of state so it’s hard for me to really find another way to follow live. there was one moment tonight that really caught me though on the broadcast. Aside from the usual hate for officials and officiating from the booth, I particularly didn’t think it was of good taste for Bob to scream “THROW THE BALL” after the 4th and goal play where Brady Allen was sacked. This was a later play, the one with the DPI and the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. To me at least, this moment was of really bad taste and i don’t care what others think but a broadcaster should never be yelling at a player. They may not hear it but all but the fans who just want to hear the game do. bad plays happen...losses happen. Players doing things other than what the spectator wants WILL happen...but yelling at a player over a broadcast shouldn’t happen. Ever. that’s just my two cents.

I’m not sure what to take away from this game GS definitely figured something out in the second half and got the offense going. But it was completely too little too late. turnovers also killed the titans. 2 INTs because of tipped passes....one right of the receivers hands. Add in a fumble off of a catch. i feel like GS was in a position to make it a ball game. But turnovers on back to back drives and surrendering a score off the second killed any hope of that. defense figured out a little bit in the second half enough to make a number of good stops but that faded into the 4th once the game was truly over. hats off to HH on the game. They came ready to play. Their defense is as good as advertised that’s for sure. They had a gameplan and simply just executed it to near perfection and a whopping 400+ yards or rushing. I think these teams are a lot closer than the score indicates and the 300 yards in the second half for GS certainly suggest that. But simply put HH came to play and came to win. GS took 2 quarters to get off the bus and even then we’re making mistakes. lots to learn from

Week 6 Scores and Updates - 2019

Gibson Southern has very few answers to the patriots rushing attack. And the Patriots have seemingly figured out GSs passing attack forcing 3 and outs. The combination of the two has been lethal...just lethal. Clock is being ate up so fast and the offense is on the sideline and trying to find a rhythm. 21-0 at the half -
Agree. That should have been an ejection. Reminded me of trevathans hit on adams a few years back. Play was dead. Forward progress established. Whistles blowing. And a dude comes flying up and just sandwiches the ball carrier with a huge helmet to helmet hit. completely uncalled for. Idk how that wasn’t an ejection

Forget handing the ball off....QB sneak!

Any other high profile 3A vs 3A matchups tonight. most of us are well aware of GIbson Southern @ Heritage Hills.

Now it’s unemployment 😂

I think if anything, people get caught up in the offense. This year’s GS team is definitely more sound top to bottom on offense. Arguably the most dangerous weapon of GS in Ben butler is seamingly “lost in the pack” after missing 2 games and the other players like delong have really stepped up. But the real kicker is HH has a very stout defense and I believe they returned a ton of starters. And frankly defense never gets the credit it deserves. I think its been pretty clear this year that GS and GS fans are taking Heritage Hills very seriously and know they are going to give them an absolute dog fight for 4 quarters. I’ve really gotten the impression this year that most people outside of GS and HH are much higher on GS than HH...And that’s okay since it’s their opinion. But I don’t think anyone at GS is sleeping on the patriots. By saturday morning 1 thing is for sure though. 1 team will be hoping Southridge defeats the other team to give them a chance at a shared championship after losing. And Southridge is a very hungry team looking to spoil everyone

We are all confused lol

I wish the IHSAA would do regional assignments instead of sectional assignments and then seed those teams in each regional. Distance is almost irrelevant now with assignments. I mean Gibson southern and Princeton are 9 miles apart or so and they could potentially meet in semi state if both were fortunate enough to make it that far

As my lacrosse teammates in college always said.....look good, play good. I mean. We finished 2-13 or something like that. 😂
