Enrollment figures

your quote “How ironic someone from WeBo would be worried about staying up a class for 3 years after they just took advantage of the SF 2 year reset of points” Be upset with the IHSAA. All schools have the ability to do what Webo did. Its not like Webo decided that now is the time (30 years later) to win state again. Is the success factor flawed? Is there a better way? We have all had those threads and discussed at length. Yes, Webo Remained in 2A after winning a State Championship and a sectional in the 2 year cycle of 2017 & 2018 (not enough points per the IHSAA success factor). Webo then won state Titles in the 2 year cycle of 2019 & 2020 and after defeating Heritage Christian in Regional we knew that Webo was going to be in In 3A. We know we are 3A. We (and I think Chatard and LCC are in the same boat) just dont understand if we are in for 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years. No one seems to have that answer. Thats all I am looking for is clarity. -

Not worried at all. Just trying to understand what they rolled out and what exactly it means as it seems to only affect LCC, Webo, Chatard at this point. It's not an "advantage" when the same rules apply to all. Your Team could have done the same thing. The fact is the Senior Class of 2021 at Western Boone played in 58 games out of 60 in their 4 years. Those kids (as well as the class of 2020 and the class of 2019) worked their tails off to win State. For you to act like that they found a loop hole to win is absolutely asinine. None of us here in the Western Boone Community will apologize for winning 3 straight titles. -

So will the success factor teams (LCC/Webo/Chatard) have to play up for 3 years? I understand this is a 1 year thing because of enrollment numbers, but what happens after this year because no one is going to get 6 points this year to move up (max would be 5 points for State) or is it if they get 2 points (Regional) then they would stay up and if they don't win a Regional they would fall back to where their enrollment is? -

Webo goes up to 3A because of success factor and if they dont get enough points they drop back to 2A next year? -

Freshman football schedules

Yes, my biggest fear too. We have tried college kids in the past and it hasn't worked out. We may need to look into Sundays in the future. -
Freshman football schedules

We haven't because we are a league of 7 seperate organizations that play at different facilities every week. So while one place may be able to do this, the others would probably struggle to get that. The 7 leagues agree on rules and at least 2 officials per game (one must be licensed) but none of us want Dads out there and much like HS officials, no one wants to deal with the headaches of parents. LOL -

The Saturday JV games have killed Youth leagues trying to get licensed officials. It's extremely difficult. Even paying $50 or $60 a game to ref a 2nd/3rd grade game. And we typically don't have our schedule finalized until mid-late July and most IHSAA licensed officials already have a schedule or most Saturdays booked. -
Turf 2020 and Beyond

Tri-West (Northwest Hendricks school Corp) is putting in a big facilities upgrade with includes field turf. -
Explain Western Boone... or Seeger Memorial? Both have multiple small towns and multiple elementaries that feed into 1 Jr High and High School. There isn't a parade from homecoming around the "town". I think you will find instances of both support/pride and instances of programs that stuggle to get that. It really is what came first the chicken (success) or the egg (support/pride/identity)?

The IFCA All State Teams have been announced and most Region All Star Teams (that lead to the North/South Game selections) have been picked. Why is the AP All-State team so important?

Western Boone Future

They have classes, but the last few years the success have pieces for a few classes the last few years that have made them successful. They will lose 10 seniors. 6 or 7 that played a lot (1 that would have, but was injured early in the year). They played a lot of Sophomores last year and a couple of Freshman. The Coaching Staff has done a really good job getting kids to buy in and they do a really good job of preparing the kids and adjusting their plans with the talent they have. They have been in 3A in the past, but as XStar mentioned, they have ran into some really good teams during the tournament. The Sagamore Conference is a 2A-4A conference/schedule. They have some talent returning, but they have some talent that graduates (as has been the case for the last few years). As for Coach Pelley, I think he has probably had opportunities the last few years to move on if he wanted to. His Staff is pretty much all former Webo players (with the exception of himself, his Dad, and the Strength & Conditioning Coach). He is involved in the youth program more than just a figure that shows up every once in a while. The kids learn a base of the offensive plays in youth and that continues to build into Jr. High. I think there is something special about the community and what has occured the last several years. Parents, kids, local businesses, community support have all bought in. You have Dads that were former players (and former youth coaches) and their kids are in HS (or already graduated) coming back into the youth program to coach/teach kids because they want the program to continue to succeed. Players that don't just show up on Saturday mornings after their film/workouts to watch the younger kids, but will come out to practices and help out.... They come out on Saturdays and watch and high five the kids... That encourage the kids. None of that is mandated or forced upon them by the Staff. The kids understand the position they are in... They understand these kids watch them every Friday night and the kids love it when those "Friday Night Stars" come watch them. Many 15-18 year old kids would struggle with that kind of responsibility. It really is a family type atmosphere. -

But wouldn't those kids HAVE to be enrolled in some school (somewhere)? My assumption is that regardless if they went in person every day, did full remote, or did a hybrid they were enrolled in some school corporation. -
