  1. He'll be back when he gets bored. Don't forget contraction, too.
  2. Correct. Hope he does well. I like Joe.
  3. Ben Davis 2023 was one of the best state championship teams ever to come out of BD. Offensively, they were just behind the 1991 and 2017 teams. Defensively, they weren't the juggernaut that some of the Dullaghan teams were, but they were certainly solid. That team excelled with senior leadership. Kevin Vanderbush listed those student leaders as some of the best he'd had in his tenure at BD. All that said, BD still barely made it to state with last-second stunners against Brownsburg, Cathedral and Center Grove. They were all sensational that year.
  4. That's a good question! That's why I think 5 feels too high.
  5. Ben Davis at #5 feels too high. Glad to be wrong. I just know the Giants and the staff have a lot of work to do. Tough sledding for the other three teams in the Sectional with Brownsburg, too.
  6. The IHSAA was forced into this by the Indiana General Assembly's House Bill 1064 (2025).
  7. Congratulations to Coach Edwards! He's a great guy, and I think he'll make a fantastic head coach. Good luck to the Patriots!
  8. The key will be enforcement. There are still rules and regulations that are in effect in the high school world that are not with the transfer portal. You get one transfer. You cannot use undue influence. There cannot be a "past link". Past the first transfer, subsequent transfers are handled like they are currently. But, the key will be enforcement.
  9. Only so many kids can play...especially in the running clock era.
  10. I heard through the grapevine that the North Central coaching hiring process was a mess this time, but hopefully they ended up with a good one. I mean, they've had two good ones the last two coaches, too. People think that they can fix that program, and, on paper, it's definitely prime. It's been a coach killer for new HC's and Hall of Famers alike. If the new coach can fix it longterm, more power to him.
  11. His advocacy of high school sports was top notch. No one questions the size of the man's heart and love for his team and players. I also appreciate that he was never afraid to make his private battles with substance abuse and mental health public. I'm sure that saved lives in an advocacy role.
  12. Did you ever see James Banks play in high school? GO FUEL!
  13. This. I totally agree. The 1991 Ben Davis Team was a special group, but I don't know if they could hold a candle to some of the more recent super teams. I mean, there were players on that team that would have been great in any decade, but if you try to put that team with what would now be considered a small offensive and defensive line up against the 2017 Ben Davis team, let's say, I don't think that 91 team would compare. Now, Steve Holman and Chris Ings could have played anytime, anywhere, any place.
  14. If the 2006 Warren team isn't near the top, then I don't know what to tell you. That team was brutally talented. They beat the #2 team in the state (Ben Davis) 76-7, and it should have been worse.
  15. People don't realize that James was not only an amazing quarterback and defensive back, but he also was ranked like fifth in 5A in punting.
  16. I think you're spot on with your assessment.
  17. 2006 Warren is DISrespected.
  18. I guess so. I was thinking it was half and half Hamilton/Allen. Now 3/4 Hamilton.
  19. Should have slid Tech into the LN/LC/NC Sectional and put DC in with Southport/Perry/Warren. How about two Sectionals now also for Hamilton and Boone Counties? Times they are a changin'.
  20. IMS and Speedway have an agreement of some sort. It's also on their basketball court. This stadium was in serious need of upgrades. As Speedway is a small-town within a big city, I'm sure that it was a scrutinized expense.
  21. Ben Davis has had, I believe, two full seasons of flag football partnering through the NFL. The team went to Washington, D.C. for a major NFL-sponsored tournament. For a school like Ben Davis, it fits perfectly in the fall.
  22. I'll drive. I'll let you run cross country and climb it.
  23. The high road has the best view.
