  4. don't believe success factor was in place back in 2011, was it?
  5. In my opinion 2020 is the year that will see the largest excitement as it seems like building towards that year for winning B10 West. I think this has a potential of a 8 win team, some breaks come then we could sneak into double digits.
  6. Heard about this at the All Star Game, Luers earned points 2 years ago winning sectional and then last year winning Regional before losing to West Lafayette at Semi State
  7. and quietly putting together another real nice recruiting class
  8. I know talking with Mr. Condry at All Star game, he was bummed out that his book went to print before the announcement of sectional and class change. I told him don't sweat it at all, the product is still TOP NOTCH and a must each and every year. Cheers to another amazing publication by Mr. Condry and his staff. A real partner to Indiana High School Football
  9. Whiting Clark Battle for the Bridge Battle of Broadway, Merrillville and Andrean
  10. Sure but next tier guys put on a show, guys going to IU, Dayton, Ball St. and host of other schools. Still lot of talent on that field. Always is. I know I saw articles up north from Jim Peters covering Laporte County players and Sam King covering Lafayette Area as well
  11. Local Indy Media was out there Stands were filled. North with now 5 in a row!!
  12. Great week as always in this guy's memory bank. Looking forward to this years rendition Go North 😎
  13. Basketball can schedule more competition days than football, where football is allowed only 5 days of competition, Basketball can have 10 different scrimmages or competition days just using numbers, the actual number for basketball is unlimited number of practices and competition days in the summer, where as football is restricted to 12 days of practice of which 5 can be 7 on 7 or 11 on 11 Thud sessions. There is no cap of open gym times/practice/competition days for Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer
  14. no need to add conjecture on H.S. student athletes reasons why or why not they are at any schools for any reasons.
  15. We took 13 freshman to play Crown Point's JV B team a few years ago, it was good, you could tell that CP was excited to get those kids reps, with rosters of 100 at some of these schools it would be very hard to get all the kids some sort of game action
  16. I agree the misinformation sent out to sensationalize the drama of head injuries sure has worked for some communities nationwide. Glad football has fought back, adjusted and has proven over time to continue to be working on creating the safest experience possible. If IHSAA has told IFCA for multiple years that other school sponsored sports are going to have to create or have it created for them summer restrictions, and yet over 6 years now they haven't what would you say to that? Not bitter, just still waiting. as far as travel ball goes, I have purposefully chosen with my lovely Mrs to avoid all ALL STAR try outs, invitations, and other requests by local youth coaches starting back when mini me was playing park league softball at age 8, no thank you. Just not our families thing, more power to others and the opportunities you want to give to your family, it is quite the time and money commitment.
  17. Kids do enjoy playing in the summer their sports, there is a fair balance to it out there that many prescribe to, just got to find and be wary of the pulse of the team.
  18. My 'Beef" has been I have sat in IFCA board meeting since 2010, I have heard 5 times now that the state is going to make Basketball fall in line with football when it comes to competition days, workouts, etc. Just this last spring....... I am not upset at all about Mort week, nor am I about the football set up in the summer, we are far ahead of the curve, just stop saying the other sports will get in line going on almost 10 years when there is no end in sight for that to actually come to fruition. Wrestling, Swimming, Volleyball, Basketball "clubs" are nothing more then a get around and many get sold on the "exposure" tour if you will, for some it is time and money well spent, for others its not, and more power to those who do, just when it comes to IHSAA and summer restrictions it would be nice to see others follow IFCA lead.
  19. still waiting on these so called restrictions that basketball/baseball etc will have to be put in place such as what Football has in our summer rules........ going on 7 years I think..
