  1. I find this very interesting. I assume SEL is “Social-Emotional Learning.” In the teacher world, what is that “code” for?
  2. Obviously the product of a major conspiracy. I just can’t figure out who is behind it. But I have it narrowed down to the libtards, or the Trilateral Commission. There is a dark horse in the Pope.
  3. “SECTION 8 NONCONTACT UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT BY NONPLAYERS ART. 1 . . . No coach, substitute, athletic trainer or other team attendant shall act in an unsportsmanlike manner once the game officials assume authority for the contest. Examples are, but not limited to:” “k. Being outside the team box, but not on the field. (9-8-3)”
  4. No disrespect to the doctor, but she’s a long time ER physician who graduated from a very mediocre medical school and has had an undistinguished career. More importantly for tHese purposes, she’s not a virologist, not an epidemiologist, not an infectious disease specialist. She doesn’t treat COVID-19 patients except to hold the fort until the patient is admitted. In a credibility contest with well-respected specialists in the field, many of whom are involved in primary research on this virus, she loses.
  5. The extension of the team boxes to the 10 yd. lines is for people in uniform only, in order to better enable social distancing. No coaches, trainers, etc. in the extended area.
  6. Exactly. And my understanding is there are several of those suits already on file.
  7. Is the Powlus kid going to play at Penn this year? He’s had a pretty quiet career, I believe due to injury. Will he make some noise in his senior season?
  8. Assuming that is actually happening, I can see where there would be concern. But this is a legal issue involving the constitutional law concept of “standing.” It has nothing to do with the substance of the matter. Essentially, it’s a legal determination that the wrong plaintiff brought the suit. It doesn’t say anything about the merits. And by “evidence,” I meant some evidence that the judge was acting out of some sort of personal interest, rather than just deciding a legal case according to the law, as you claimed.
  9. Unusually quick to attach motive to a legal decision, especially in the absence of any evidence. It’s not really an opinion, just cynicism. If I were a citizen of Oregon, I’d be more concerned that my state’s chief legal officer doesn’t have a grasp of the legal concept of “standing,” something everyone learns in their first year of law school.
  10. Could be. A lot of D3 guys are already working Friday nights.
  11. That’s a really good question. We will have even fewer officials than usual, as some (not many, by my count) will opt out of working during the pandemic. On the other hand, if games get canceled because a school is dealing with positive tests, it may all even out in the end. All I can say for certain is that there will be some cancellations, and there will be a scramble to match up officials and teams. I expect a real sh*t show.
  12. Make sure you can get there next week. I understand the presentation will be fabulous. 😜
  13. Don’t keep us in suspense. What was the difference?
  14. I’m at the Lake County Athletic Officials football meeting. 45 officials here ... all wearing masks. But @DannEllenwooddidn’t show. I so wanted to get a picture of him wearing a mask and post it on the GID. 😆
  15. His masterpiece was very early in his career: Zulu Check it out On Demand.
  16. Absolutely. Manufacturers can’t keep them in stock. Perhaps this would be a good time for a refresher on inadvertent whistle administration? 😆
  17. That probably isn’t the worst analogy you’ve come up with ... but it’s got to be in the top 3.
  18. And the death rate of any disease never tells the whole story. It’s like you either die, or recover like it never happened. Not at all true. There are a significant number of lingering, perhaps permanent, effects. Respiratory. neurological, cardiac, renal ... and likely some we don’t know yet, since this is so new.
