Drayk Bowen is an absolute stud. He’ll be a Butkus Finalist next year.

Thank you, seniors.

When I saw the title to this thread, I thought you were thanking Senior Citizens. I was about to say “you’re welcome.” But never mind. -
I promise, I’ll get around to looking at that video. Were the IWs both by the same official? If not, I’m not sure whether that’s better … or worse.

On a given Friday night there are about 750 officials working high school games. They run the gamut from guys who watch video and do rules tests every week to the guys who don’t think about football until they get off work Friday afternoon … and everything in between. If you expect the caliber of officiating you see in the NFL or D-1, that’s on you for having unrealistic expectations.

Translation, please. 😂

Well, we (once again) vanquished the enemies of our blood yesterday. More reason for Lincoln Riley to whine about playing a B1G schedule, plus Notre Dame. Maybe we should let him win a couple to preserve the rivalry. Anyway, the jeweled shillelagh is in South Bend where it belongs.

The Eagles put a running clock on Moeller today. -
You’re right. Can you imagine the inconsistency we would see from crew to crew at the high school level?

Ball Prep! Can we get the officials educated?

I sent this post to Mr. Faulkens. What game was this? -
Only one?

Penn strikes first. 80 yd. drive. 7-0 Penn over St. Joe 7:42 of the 1st.

If they continue playing like they are, that won’t be the case next year. Expect a whopping rise in ticket prices.

I thought only the P/Ps did that sort of thing. 😂🤣😅 -
Is it a Hudl video? I’d love to see that play.

This is one of those times when you get to have a really satisfying conversation with the coach. He’ll say “They touched it before it went in the end zone and we recovered it!” And then you get to say, with a really sincere look on your face, ”Coach, you’re exactly right.” They always get this look on their face when they hear that, and you know they’re thinking “uh-oh, I think I just let everyone know that I’m ignorant of the rule.” I remember a conversation with a coach like that, and after I’d explained the rule to him, he looked at me and said “You just made that up!” 🤣😂😅

If the crew is on the ball … and they should be with a free kick from the 15 yd. line … they’ll get on the whistle as soon as the ball breaks the plane. That will reinforce that K has simply “recovered” a ball that was already dead.

Rule 10-2-4 ART. 4 . . . When two or more live-ball fouls (other than nonplayer or unsportsmanlike) are committed during the same down by the same team (multiple fouls), only one penalty may be enforced. The designated representative of the offended team may choose which one shall be administered, or all penalties may be declined. When a team commits a nonplayer or unsportsmanlike foul during that same down, it is administered from the succeeding spot as established by the acceptance or declination of the penalty for the other foul. It’s Hate Week. ☘️Beyond the Echoes: The Greatest Intersectional Rivalry In College Football The Notre Dame-USC football rivalry began in 1926 and is considered one of the fiercest in college football. The rivalry game has been played every year from 1926 to the present with the exception of 1943 to 1945 when the game was cancelled during World War II and in 2020 when the Pac-12 Conference cancelled all non-conference games in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic therefore interrupted a streak of 73 consecutive years in which the game had been played. The 2021 matchup marked the first time in series history that two consecutive games between the rivals were played in Indiana, although the games were not played in consecutive years. The teams play for the Jeweled Shillelagh, a trophy that goes to the winning team each year. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 50–37–5 and also leads 35–30–3 since the introduction of the trophy. Despite many close games, the series has had dominant runs by both sides: USC went 12–2–2 from 1967 through 1982, Notre Dame went 11–0–1 from 1983 through 1995, and USC went 8–0 from 2002 through 2009. However, while Notre Dame and USC have played in landmark games enabling one of them to move on to a national title, the two teams have also played spoiler to each other several times. A No. 1 undefeated Notre Dame beat No. 2 undefeated USC in the Coliseum en route to the national title in 1988. The Irish also spoiled Trojan title campaigns by giving them their first loss in the last game of the season in 1947 and 1952, as well as handing them a first loss in 1927, 1973 and 1995. The Irish also tied No. 1 ranked USC in 1968 21–21, knocking them down to No. 2 behind Ohio State, who then beat USC in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in the Rose Bowl. The Irish tied the Trojans again in 1969 14–14, the only blemish in USC's 10–0–1 season.

Week 2 of the sectional should be interesting. If form holds, Knox will play a 9-1 Griffith team. Of course, Griffith is where Russ Radtke made his bones, leading them to a state championship. On the other sideline, coaching a revitalized Griffith program, is Phil Mason, who coached Andrean to a championship in 2013. Coach Mason is about as old school as it gets, and I’m confident he and Coach Radtke have crossed swords before. Knowing those two — I officiated many games for both — I would guess the atmosphere at this game might be really nasty. -
DPI is not a personal foul. But I take your point. There’s no doubt that DBs are coached to foul in those circumstances.

The question now is “Will James Franklin survive the season?”
