If you watch close enough, the outside receiver braces for the contact. That to me is a dead giveaway for OPI (illegal pick) in that situation. On top of that, there were at least two different take downs by the O-line at the LOS. Prayers for the player that was hurt, but I too agree that this crew blew multiple calls on this play.

It seems as though they don't have the speed that they had back 2 years ago either. I have a feeling those formations were used to get the speedster in space and let him do his thing. I haven't seen but a little this year, but it does seem that their tight end is going to be a huge part of the offense.

This is misleading. Their line is the biggest I have seen so far this year below the 4A level.

I have seen that before, including in my playing days! I know that Linton has adults running both the endzone and sideline cams to get the best footage possible. Now here's to hoping they can get the south window open so the visiting team can get better quality!

Yes sir. It helps that I come off as likable, but most of the time the camera guys we deal with are just like us, there for the kids and giving back to the team and school we love and played for.

I help run the endzone camera a lot of the time at Linton. It's first come, first serve. We usually share the same endzone, just one on each side of the goal posts. No big deal.

If 1A football has to go then so should you.

I only mention Heritage Christian due to their game with Guerin Catholic. But I agree that North Putman could have a say as well.

You can not count out Heritage Christian nor the defending Class 2A State champion Western Boone.

I believe NKs line is big and strong, but how is their conditioning? Can they keep it going for 4 quarters? think the only way NK has a shot is by passing the ball. Although improved, that is Linton' s biggest weakness. Boonville, Southridge, and North Vermillion all moved the ball much better in the air, and Boonville didn't score until they started passing more. This game should be interesting, but i believe Linton will win by at least 3 scores due to speed and depth.

Just to be picky Big D, North Knox did beat Vincennes Lincoln in 2016, 20-18. 😉 Love the write up as always!

As to whether North Knox can hang, it it possible as their line is pretty good, but I feel like depth and the skill positions would not be that of the larger school.

Being an official myself, I feel like a lot of the younger generation can not handle the backlash from the fans. Quite frankly, I can understand. We had a guy working a lower level game get confronted ON THE SIDELINES during the game by a fan. If this continues, we will no longer have enough officials. It only takes a few to ruin it for everyone.

They did give this one away. Linton gave up 3-4 huge pass plays, 2 or 3 of them on 3rd and long where you are taught to keep your man in front of you. They did not. If both sides had played with zero turnovers, I believe Linton wins. Southridge persevered and will have a great season. Hopefully the Miners learn from this and grow as a team. However, #59, Schrader(sp?) I believe, was amazing all game. I have never seen a Safety play guard on the offense, nor have I ever remembered a player's name without looking at the roster. Also, I have never seen a safety making that many tackles that close to the LOS. Lots of range. Also, I never saw him get beat deep per se. Good luck the rest of the year!

I agree with this 100%. As much as we hate to admit it, we do make mistakes. However, I am there to do my part and make sure the integrity of the game is kept. I will not favor one side of th other. I know a coach will get mad, he/she is human. Profanity does not bother me unless it's from players. I warn them, and the coach the first time, unless I feel it harsh enough to flag for the first defense. However, I do not like being accused of cheating for someone. My integrity is something I am very proud of.
