  1. As a coordinator? As a head coach, I could see him going back to a mid major.
  2. I would have to agree with that. I'm actually surprised that Jeff Becker doesn't have any more offers than he does. That kid can sling it and put points on the board. Correction though, Mason Englert was their top receiver a year ago and is now playing in the NAIA. But those other wideout's are studs. Lot's of upside for the Chargers. Keep an eye out Week 2. Carroll takes on Snider and their eighteen returning starters. Not to ever count out Dwenger and Homestead, but that game could determine the SAC champion. The core of Snider's coaching staff is still there and with an Indiana recruit anchoring the offense and a Purdue kid navigating the defense, I think the Panthers have an upside to. We'll find out on the field.
  3. Good, that pretty much eliminates the Big 12 from competing with Notre Dame and the Big Ten for a playoff spot.
  4. SAC not much better: Zionsville upends Dwenger Warsaw takes out Carroll Homestead waxed by Westfield Snider off the radar
  5. Up here in the Fort, I'm looking forward to two games that first week: Luers vs Carroll.........We find out if Carroll is better than they were last year. If so, the rest of the SAC may be in trouble. Luers fans are as excited about this team as they have been in a long time. If that's the case, look for the Knights to give the big SAC schools some competitive games. Wayne vs Dwenger........Wayne is looking to get back to their championship ways with a state champion coach at the helm in his second year. Dwenger apparently is going through a rebuilding year. Could be a good game.
  6. No one has a strong hold on Luers. Cathedral seems to have a stronghold on Dwenger when they are in the same class. It's kind of hard for the Saints when most of their kids come from their feeder schools. Cathedral's kids come from all over Indy and the surrounding burbs. Those two programs are never really in the same enrollment class.
  7. Add two more 4-star recruits to the list this week. Jaylen Sneed chose ND over Alabama and many others on Monday. Benjamin Morrison picked Irish over the Tide today. That's twelve 4-star recruits for 2022 so far. Keep it up Freeman, let's "bridge that gap."
  8. Quarterback is solid. I thought he would have more offers than he has. So far just Eastern Illinois and Pennsylvania. He no longer has Mason Englert to sling it to, but I'm sure some other guys will step up.
  9. Reread what I wrote. Never said anything about them capping at seven.
  10. Nothing bold about the first three, those were all easy. IU will get 7 wins..........easy. Notre Dame with 10? Lots of home games on their schedule. IU to be competitive with Michigan? Nothing against Michigan, but IU is riding some momentum. You taking Cathedral against the field is taking the easy way out. The most interesting thing about 5a this year will be who becomes their biggest threat.
  11. Looking forward to that one. Carroll is a bit of a mystery to me. They have a hell of a quarterback returning and from what I understand, a few other studs as well. Defense needs to improve a lot if they are going upend Homestead for the right to play Westfield. Will this be there dream season as they christen their new 8 million dollar football stadium? I really hyped them up last year, so I'll stand down a bit in 2020.
  12. I'll take IU for 7+ wins this year. Give me IU and 7pts vs Michigan in Ann Arbor Notre Dame for 10+ wins for a fifth season in a row. Snider over Zionsville for the right to play Cathedral. (Probably my most bold prediction. Zionsville returns a bunch of guys that beat (upset) a very good Dwenger team.
  13. Nah. I get your point, but the Heisman trophy should mean something more than being an athlete since they are representing a college institution. In my opinion, it should go to the best athlete, who is also a student, and who has exemplified good character. However, it's a tragedy that someone like Reggie Bush has his taken away, but a guy like Johney Manzeil still has his (took me a minute to remember his name). I have more respect for the city guys, at least they draw the line at 15. Is 465 still a 55 zone? What a joke............or more like a speed trap.
  14. I don't mind tooting my horn sometimes, like last year when I predicted ND to beat Clemson in the regular season and lose in the ACC Championship. I also predicted ND to lose to Wisconsin last year in Lambeau Field, but that never came to fruition. That being said, if I made a living as a handicapper, I'd more than likely starve to death. It's fun though.
  15. A huge win for Indiana. Four star defensive lineman from Snider chooses IU over Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Oregon. Way to stay in state big fella!
  16. How do you have time to keep tabs on all posters? Or is it just me that you're keeping tabs on?
  17. Temp and I will work something out via private message. Final note: Irish fans have reason to be optimistic regardless of what has happened in the past.
  18. I said it depends on how long Marcus Freeman is there. If he is one and done, then catching the other three is not likely to happen. If they can get two or three recruiting cycles out of him? We know what Brian Kelly and staff can do with a bunch of 3 & 4-star athletes. What happens if we increase the 4's and add a few 5's (the direction they are going)? Laughable? You have your opinion.
  19. Agree. But, the question was....... "what has been done to bridge the gap?" Not......."what have they done on the national stage?" I believe I answered the question with the hiring of Marcus Freeman. They hired that guy to bridge the gap, and it's already paying dividends.
  20. I guess if you're that far out of the loop, I'll fill you in when it happens.
