  1. I'm intrigued by Crown Point. I'll say it right here right now, I'm expecting them to give Westfield a run for their money.
  2. Sometimes football can be exciting, other times it can be cruel. It was cruel for five of those teams last night.
  3. I don't know enough about the south to make an educated rebuttal, so I'll just roll with your opinion on this one. Point blank, I agree. 6A: Ben Davis or Center Grove? The Westfield/Crown Point winner won't have a shot?
  4. Great post. Two of those games were just a few minutes down the street from one another. Six of those game could have been easily reversed.
  5. Which games was he out for? Looking at their schedule, they're just a few plays away from a seven loss season (five wins by less than a touchdown). Probably an unfair observation as good teams find ways to win in the end. Scores have been pretty lopsided over the last four weeks though.
  6. Great photo. Great catch.
  7. I never said Snider was outplayed. They absolutely obliterated the Mishawaka run game, they just got burnt badly on some deep pass plays. Snider also did a good job moving the ball down the field, just couldn't score touchdowns. The keys for Mishawaka keeping this game close tonight were their goal line stands and big offensive pass plays. I simply stated they deserved to win the game as much as Snider did. You completely took my comment out of context.
  8. Saw that coming. No one was talking about Merrillville. They're a dangerous team.
  9. Merrillville travels to Snider next week.
  10. As much as Snider wants another crack at Valpo, I think we'd all prefer the home game.
  11. On one hand I want to say Mishawaka deserved the win tonight, but both teams played their hearts out. For Snider, thank God that was the first and only game they'll play on natural turf. That ending makes up for the ending last year against Valpo...........unfortunately at the expense of a well deserving Mishawaka team and their fans.
  12. Again, can't punch it in from the 1 yard line. Kudos to the Mishawaka defense.
  13. Mishawaka 15, Snider 13 with 8 minutes to go. Snider getting some decent drives but no points to show for it. Mishawaka's ground game going nowhere, killing Snider through the air.
  14. Snider 10 - Mishawaka 9, halftime Ground game went nowhere for Mishawaka in the first half, so they're burning Snider through the air.
  15. Only if you like high offensive output.
  16. I got to see Leo a couple weeks ago. They're good, really good. They look like a high caliber 5A, mid caliber 6A football team. Appear to be playing their best all of the season.
  17. It's common anymore. I'm not sure there's a team in the state that travels now as well as they did 20 years ago.
  18. Not much to say here? A yawner?
  19. Television and the internet play a part when traveling two hours. Back in the 80's and 90's, Snider would pack the house. Now anything over 50% capacity seems to be considered pretty good. That goes for other programs as well that used to travel well. Penn, Carmel, and Valpo for starters. With Carmel you're lucky to get 1/4 capacity these days. I'm thinking Snider will be in that 1/2 - 3/4 range tonight.
  20. Sagarin also ranks Warren Central and East Noble ahead of Snider. Snider blew both those teams out. Take that ranking with a grain of salt. It amazes me how much stock people put into these polls. Sagarin doesn't give points to a team for taking a knee deep in their opponents territory right before the half. Sagarin also take points away from a team that wins 49-0 in one half, and loses 14-0 in the second half with their 2nd & 3rd stringers. Mishawaka is good. They wouldn't be in the regionals otherwise, nor would they by 9-2. Snider will need to put their best foot forward to win this game. Snider tends to fall asleep once in awhile. I wouldn't be surprised if they are cleaning out their lockers tomorrow night.
  21. Look at 2022 North Side vs 2023 North Side. Two or three, not three or four, can make a world of difference.
  22. I think you'd be surprised. Three or four kids, good kids with athletic ability and leadership ability, can make or break a team.
  23. I'm referring to the outside district where IPS athletes are more than likely going. Schools close in proximity like Ben Davis and Warren Central. Maybe the reason IPS schools are among the state's worse has something to do with Lutheran and maybe some other Indy PP's.
  24. "Played" Brownsburg? Fooled them into thinking they'd be competitive?
  25. I bet South Side goes 5-0 against the Indy publics. I'm not saying recruiting doesn't occur in Fort Wayne, because it absolutely does. But there's more of a balance in Fort Wayne from the bottom to the top. There is zero balance in Indy. Either your top ten in the state or you're bottom ten. There doesn't seem to be an in between like there is in Fort Wayne. How did Indy Lutheran become so good so fast? Just a bunch of good ol Lutheran boys working hard? I'm not so sure.
