  1. Yeah, but 6-10? Saban is a great coach, I'm just not ready to anoint him as the best of all time like some have. Resources.........lot's of them.
  2. I don't think Harbaugh is innocent, but I also don't believe Saban is squeaky clean. I still think he's the John Wooden of college football. Disclaimer: No dog in this fight.
  3. Parity. Normally it's a two team show.
  4. It's hard to take the Big Ten seriously at this stage. Half of me says Michigan chokes royally (karma is a real thing), the other half says they take the whole thing with an "in your face" middle finger to all of their doubters and attackers. They'll dub themselves champions after their victory over Bama, then comes along Washington, the underdog once again, and the Huskies shock all of college football.
  5. I think you're just giving your opinion as you see it. As am I. I see a coach who had one decent season at Michigan State. Not that it was that impressive since he was blown out twice that season. He was an average football coach at an average football program. But that one decent season propelled him to LSU. Four above average seasons at LSU, but he did have that one championship, kudos to him. He was awful in the NFL at a team that had lofty expectations. Fast forward to Alabama, a program that was tired of losing. I think the Tide made a commitment to win "by any means necessary" at that point. Think John Wooden at UCLA. Good coach, LOTS of resources. Anyway, that's just my opinion. He's obviously a great coach, which is why I have him in the top three percentile of all of college football. I just don't think he's the "football God" that everyone else sees him as. Until every single college program has an equal amount of resources, I think it's hard to dub anyone as "the best." When I say he's Top 25, I'm saying he could be #1, or he could be #25. How could one know for sure? As far as Brian Kelly is concerned, yeah, there's some things about him that lowers him on the likability scale. But he did take Notre Dame to relevance. No he didn't win a national championship, but does anyone really expect the Irish to with their academic standard? He's won everywhere he's been. He'll win at LSU if they give him a chance.
  6. I would argue what Kelly did at Notre Dame with his resources was equally, if not more, impressive than what Saban has done at Alabama. Saban is a good coach for sure. Again, Top 25 is a compliment.
  7. Free cars, lots of cash. If winning multiple national championships by using any means necessary makes you the best coach..............never mind. It's no wonder some really good coaches stay at the high school level.
  8. I'm sure there are 25 coaches out there that could do the same thing with the talent that he had. Top 25 is a compliment if you consider the number of college football programs sits at over 830.
  9. All this being said, how can one claim that Saban is a better coach than Brian Kelly given what Kelly did over a ten year span at a university with high academic standards. I've been saying for years that Nick Saban might be one of the best 25 coaches in the country. It's hard to say he's top five given the advantages he has with top tier talent.
  10. Current offers are Ohio Dominican and Tiffin University. Both DII programs. It looks like NAIA and DIII skipped right over him, recognizing that his talent level is pretty high.
  11. You've made clear your hatred for Kelly on this forum, so I had to ask. I'm taking this report with a grain of salt as well. I hope Harbaugh sticks around.
  12. I know it's just a rumor and hypothetical at this point, but what would that do to your allegiance to the Wolverines?
  13. Gotta love this: January 2021 - Marcus Freeman leaves Cincinnati to become defensive coordinator at Notre Dame after LSU thought they reeled him in. November 2021 - LSU hires head coach Brian Kelly away from Notre Dame. December 2021 - Marcus Freeman accepts head coaching position at Notre Dame after LSU's second attempt to reel him in as their defensive coordinator. April 2022 - shortly after being fired at LSU, Ed Orgeron spends a week in South Bend sharing coaching insights with newly hired Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman. December 2023 - Notre Dame hires LSU's Mike Denbrock as their new offensive coordinator.
  14. The rumors are out there. Harbaugh to the NFL, Brian Kelly to the Wolverines?
  15. I guess you'd have to compare his average per carry to those nine with more rushing yards than him. Either way, he's a darn good running back. He was late to the party being a backup his junior season, but the DII programs are taking notice currently.
  16. I've been trying to explain that to others this entire thread. And yes, I did take the term 'dynasty' literal. I get that it only relates to your past Top 100's. You have your hands full compiling data from that poll alone. I can't imagine you have time to assess every single team in the nation. I'm presuming Pike made the poll in 2007 along with Carmel?
  17. What does being ranked in the National Top 100 have to do with a dynasty? Not sure how I'm being dense. Whiteshoes is ONLY qualifying teams that have made his Top 100. Calling Fishers, LC, and Pike dynasties is laughable. These ranking are nothing more than a measuring stick for teams that have made the Top 100 in the past. Congratulations on making the Top 100 once, but you've dominated nothing over a period of time. These schools aren't dynasties, not even a little bit. Luers, LCC, Chatard, and Lutheran ARE dynasties because they dominated their respective class. This has nothing to do with Luers ability to beat Fishers in a head to head matchup. It has everything to do with dominating your competition in the class in which you compete. Pike for f**** sake? Am I on candid camera?
  18. Can we qualify Anderson as an Indy team since I69 is three lanes from Indy to Anderson?
  19. Fishers, Pike, Reitz, New Pal, Penn, and LC are consistent at the national level? I must be missing something. I understand what he's done. He's using ONLY the national poll, it's just not a good measuring stick for a dynasty. A dynasty can only be measured by a program's dominance in the tournament that they play. For instance: Three or four straight championships. Making the National Top 100 one time in the past 16 years doesn't qualify you as a dynasty. When talking dynasties in Indiana, I think you have to start with Warren Central, Luers, LCC, and Center Grove. There are others, those just come to mind first.
  20. I guess I'm confused as to what a dynasty is. I just don't see Pike or Fishers as dynasties. I see Luers, Lutheran, LCC, and Chatard as dynasties, but that's just me.
  21. I want to say he started in 2007. And the only teams on the list are teams that made his national Top 100 in the past. That's the only sense I can make of it. There are plenty of teams not on the list who've had better dynasties than the ones who made his list. I noticed a red flag when no small schools were represented. I'm positive this list only consists of teams who've made the National Top 100, dating back to 2007 maybe.
  22. A Snider/Penn matchup wouldn't hurt my feelings. Old rivalry renewed.
  23. The following makes sense to me geographically: Sectional 1: Penn, Crown Point, Portage, Lake Central Sectional 2: Carroll, Snider, Northrop, Elkhart Sectional 3: Westfield, Noblesville, Harrison, Homestead Sectional 4: Zionsville, Carmel, Fishers, HSE
  24. My error, Mishawaka is 4A. They should should challenge Northwood for supremacy up north.
