  1. I would have settled for that! It was low 40's, raining hard and windy as all get out at Brebeuf last night! And it was a swirling wing!
  2. Does anyone have any information on Camden Jordan's injury? I sure hope it's not severe! I realize it's hard to get information on such things now, I just want to know if he's gonna be OK.
  3. It was brutal on the northside of Indy. Rain, swirling winds and falling temperatures made it difficult to play and equally difficult to watch. It was like playoff type weather x2. Hard frost here on the westside of Indy this morning.
  4. Cathedral 21, Brebeuf Jesuit 7. Thank God for Field Turf! (it's good this one wasn't played at Arlington)
  5. It was wet, windy and cold tonight and Cathedral persevered 21-7 over Brebeuf Jesuit with two late TD's. Believe me it was miserable in the stands tonight, and equally as bad on the field. It was hard for the players to hold onto the ball. The weather forecast called for rain ending about 7 or 8PM but it rained most of this game, sometimes as hard as it rained all day. The swirling wind was blustery too. More on this one when my fingers thaw.
  6. I'm go with a 3-5-3 defense and spread offense. A dual threat QB makes the spread even better.
  7. Strap on your rain gear and come watch the Irish play tonight! Oh and wear some warm clothes too.
  8. Yep! I saw him play at Butler Bowl against Carmel and Mark Herman. That was a big game!
  9. Thanks for that information. There's not much parking at Brebeuf so there's probably not enough room for our entourage.
  10. I've seen a lot of great ones in my 60+ years of watching Indiana high school football, but the best running back I've ever seen is Cathedral's Otis Shannon. His 489 yards rushing against Cincinnati LaSalle was incredible alone. He had great instincts.
  11. I'm speaking of the traffic situation. I live on the westside of Indy, near Ben Davis, and sometimes it takes me an hour to get to Tech on some Friday nights. It's even tougher coming from the south on most Friday nights. Our roads were built for 1970's traffic and are now overcrowded.
  12. See you at the tailgate Friday, rain or shine!
  13. I hope the Center Grove crowd is massive at Tech next Friday!
  14. It'll be interesting to see how CG travels to play Cathedral, at Tech, in the regular season finale. It is a tough drive from and to Center Grove on any Friday night.
  15. Yep! I had a feeling that Muda would muddy up this thread. I think I read somewhere that Brebeuf Jesuit will be on the New Pal schedule next year.
  16. Catholics vs. Catholics is always tough! I'm sure ex-Cathedral OC Mic Roessler, now HC at Brebeuf, would like nothing better than to pull off another upset win over the Irish. The Irish will have to be at their best Friday night for this one.
  17. Coach Streiff left NC so he could watch his son, John, play at Cathedral. He sat in the stands with the rest of us in 2007. I believe he had no other motive than that to leave NC. When Coach Jim O'Hara had health problems, Rick was the logical choice to come back. It worked out pretty well.
  18. No, the running clock only started in the 2nd half of the Cathedral/Jeffersonville game. It was the quickest 2nd half you can even imagine! The clock should have been running after the first quarter but the rule states it's only in the 2nd half.
  19. I'm not sure if Coach Peebles is a "great" coach, but I know for sure he's a really good one!
  20. I thought this game had been cancelled? I guess not.
  21. I've attended Cathedral football games for over 60 years and this was a very big win last night. I'm sorry that the local press didn't see it as such but this was a signature win for a school that has had quite a few of them. I believe that Channel 59 in Indianapolis was the only TV channel to have highlights of this game and the Indy Star ignored it entirely. Also the Cathedral crowd was a bit sparse last night. For those who missed this game, you missed a big one! Games like last night don't happen that often! Having said all that, I hope the Irish do not have a letdown against Brebeuf Jesuit next week. The Irish have been pretty level in their play this season but sometimes you overlook certain opponents. They only have to look back a few years when a talent loaded Cathedral team traveled to Brebeuf and got their behinds handed to 'em. Mic Roessler was offensive Co-Ordinator at Cathedral for many years and he's love nothing better than to have his team do it again! Orin Edwards has become the Irish career leader in TD passes and yardage and Camden Jordan is nearing the season record for TD receptions in a single season. Hats off to these fine young men!
  22. Well, you don't seem to be a FAN of Cathedral football. Lots of negativity towards them in fact. Give cred where it's due. This was, by any means, a major upset. Trinity had beaten Carmel and Warren Central, for heaven's sake. Maybe you should come out and watch the Irish play sometime and see for yourself that this is a good football team. And they play under the same rules as every other school in the state of Indiana, just ask Bobby Cox who has very little if any love for Cathedral football. If they were doing anything illegal, Bobby would be all over it.
  23. The Irish are not worrying about New Pal now, they have Brebeuf Jesuit and Center Grove to worry about first. Oh and then there's the sectionals.
