The Arlington field was in good shape and was a bit churned up at the end of the game. Another disappointing Cathedral crowd tonight. The weather was not that bad as there was no win. The 8th week at Brebeuf Jesuit was much more uncomfortable than tonight. Irish fans need to get out and watch these young men!

Cathedral won a sectional championship for the 23rd time tonight, beating Decatur Central 42-12. It was a good game for the Irish on both sides of the ball. Now it's on to the annual "game of the century" next week against New Pal.

The Moeller opening isn't a big surprise. Cathedral played them early in the season, actually Moeller's first game, and it was ugly. Moeller turned the ball over 8 times in the game! I'm not sure in my 60+ years I've seen 8 TO's in a game, maybe even by both teams total. On the surface it looked like they had some talent, but they seemed very disorganized. Checking their scores during the season, it looks like they never became too organized. It's a shame because that's a school with great tradition.

I hope to see a lot of Irish fans at the Arlington "frozen tundra" tonight.

It's my opinion that you are incorrect about Cathedral not being s "speed" team. Maybe you should check with some of the Irish opponents and get their perspective on that. Plenty of "speed" on both sides of the ball.

Bundle up and be there tomorrow night. The young men playing the game will appreciate your attendance.

The better team doesn't always win. For example the Indiana Pacers, yes I know it's basketball, lost to Charlotte 122-120 in OT Tuesday night but Charlotte attempted 42 free throws and the Pacers attempted 7. Sometimes there are outside forces that determine the outcome.

The south is no more a Bible Belt than Indiana, you can bet on it!

It's true that this sectional final will be played on the frozen tundra at Arlington. Not sure why this won't be played at Tech.😟

Of course I find the Decatur Central at Cathedral game quite intriguing.😏

It seems that the Notre Dame at Duke game will be televised on the ACC Network, which a lot of us don't get. Will this be picked up by a local Indiana TV station? It's been quite awhile since a Notre Dame game hasn't been nationally televised on an accessible network to all.

If that's true, we will be playing on the frozen tundra.

Decatur Central vs. Cathedral should be an interesting game. Hopefully the Irish will not be looking ahead and will just try to take care of business. That won't be easy against a talented DC team.

The weather Friday night was very acceptable, especially if you dressed appropriately. I don't know how attendance was at other games but the crowd, especially the home Cathedral crowd, was very sparse at Tech. Maybe there was a Halloween hangover, but whatever the excuses, try to get out and back the young men representing your school or your family this week.

The Irish bumbled the game from the time of that fumble until the last 3 minutes. Ian Book was a mess until the last drive. It was not a top notch performance by any means.

Irish 21, Hokies 20. That was a gift from God! The Irish are now Bowl eligible.

Irish are playing poorly, that's an understatement, again today. They are scuffling with a Virginia Tech team that's more "average" than Michigan. I believe it's time for Brian to go and Ian Book needs to hit the pines. His regression since early last season is troubling. Who would have believed that IU would be Bowl eligible before Notre Dame

That's why I enjoy the all in. On any given Friday during the playoffs, the best team doesn't always win.

Decatur Central 49, Terre Haute North 0 Cathedral 38, Terre Haute South 14 So it's Decatur Central vs. Cathedral next Friday night. I was told it would be a "home game" for Cathedral. If so it should be back at Tech.
