Well deserved! If you ever have a chance to hear one of his Monday press conferences, after a Saturday game, you will be impressed by his knowledge and presence. He's still learning a lot, but he has already learned a lot too.

14 points were lost on Taylor's "fumble" and the Mitchell "air ball." It seems they are a few players short of being any kind of contender in a very weak division. I think Chris Ballard deserves the credit for that, and many it's time for a change at his position. I haven't had much faith in Ballard since he chose Perris Campbell over Terry McLaurin. That was a major mistake! And there have been more that have followed.

The annual "we got to do something about the P/P's winning too much" is always a treat. Wringing hand and furrowed brows and then no real solutions. Some schools just don't want to compete, but just complain. Hard work pays off. The "success factor" was designed to "even the playing field" but it just doesn't seem to be enough for some. It's a never ending subject, that's for sure. -

That's your opinion. Notre Dame is independent because they wish to be independent. There may come a time when they need to join a conference, but that time hasn't come yet. In fact, the Irish do have some conference ties, basketball in the ACC and hockey in the Big 18.

Notre Dame schedules far into the future. They have no control over what teams like Florida State, USC, Stanford etc, are going to have 5 or 10 years into the future. Normally these teams would be formidable, which wasn't the case this year. You don't get to pick and choose who you play from year to year. That's one of the problems of being an independent.
