  1. 2010, 2005, 2004... Yeah not getting much sympathy from 3A when Chatard essentially rarely leaves the donut counties of Marion County. Perhaps being in the north will change that. http://pastfb.homestead.com/logs/IndianapolisChatard.htm#loaded
  2. Mileage varies though. @DaveMosbey broke it down, after Danville game, HH will have traveled 800+ miles for the three away games.
  3. I doubt this game will see that much scoring. Good news though. The only teams not named Chatard to beat HH in semistate are in Danville's proximity: Tri West in 2014 and Zionsville in 1996. However both of those losses were at Heritage Hills. Heritage Hills has two semistate wins: vs. Chatard at FC in 2004 and at Roncalli in 2000. (Yes, I'm reaching)
  4. While you're at it bring back Cutler. He's only 36, play action bootleg always was the offense he should've been in. He never wanted to be a pocket passer. Never understood why he was forced to stand in the pocket and launch the ball 60 yards. I hear he has his own reality TV show now too. What's to lose?
  5. It's a great city and only 2.5 hours from many Hoosier fans along the Ohio River.
  6. Doug Flutie, Michael Vick, Drew Brees... And people still think you need to be 6-3 to make it in the NFL?
  7. Chatard could have made an argument in 3A in the early 2000s. Roncalli as 3A in 1999 and I believe 1992...don't quote me on the latter year. The Werner days at EC/Roncalli in 2004? In 2002 Chatard beat Heritage Hills who beat 4A champion Jasper. Only five classes then. 2007 McIntosh at Reitz probably would put up points in 6A, not sure about the defense though. I was at that CE game -- best HS football game I've ever seen.
  8. Or you could take the pervious 4 years and throw out the most successful year and least successful year to get a better median of the programs success with the remaining two years.
  9. 78 percent accurate year in and out. And that was when TW did his analysis 10 years ago.
  10. Sound similiar to Gibson Southern. The running QB is what concerned HH going into the L-Burg game. HH has the athletes to cover space while they pressure with 6-7 (think Tampa 2, bend but don't break but different implementation.) Regardless, I think we are in for a hard-hitting game. I hope the winner is as close to 100 percent strength heading into State.
  11. Ok, so what does Danville do well? How are special teams? Any players missing during the five losses who are back? Jake Powers have any younger brothers to be concerned about?
  12. You can't run up the score so easily because of the new rule. Additionally, I don't claim to know Jeff Sagarins algorithms, but I imagine a 70-0 win has about the same weight as a 49-7 win. After a certain point it is approaching meaningless. Look at my plan to get the coaches involved in seeding sectionals with Sags as a tie breaker. If you can do it in wrestling why not in football? You could even have Sectional 31 coaches seeding sectional 32, or a random mix. We live in a world where coaches can meet on Skype and the IHSAA could easily make a website for coaches to cast blind ballots. If there are no ties after round one and the IHSAA or a third party agrees there has been no vote rigging (four coaches voting in bad faith for their own advantagr, for example), Then that's that.
  13. Yes. Importantly, it closes the gaps in the middle classes.
  14. Percentages matter more than counts. A 300 enrollment school can challenge a 600 enrollment school much easier than a 600 can challenge a 1,200 (P/PS not withstanding).
  15. Let's talk competitive balance. If you plot any random sample on a chart you end up with a bell curve. Who in their infinite wisdom decided 5A should have 32 teams and 1A 64 or so? Logically it doesn't make sense, so what was the real reason? The farther away from the median enrollment across all classes the larger the disparity (percentage in smaller schools) and by count in the larger. Does the IHSAA know math?
  16. West Washington. So strange to not see a team like Linton or Perry Central. I can't keep up with the class changes North Daviess?
  17. Fortville is on Eastern time. Not a huge deal, but given that the 4A state finals are Saturday, why not play Saturday. Not sure it'll have an outcome on this one. I had Memorial ranked No. 1 at the beginning of the year. Go Tigers.
  18. All three of my class's losses were to Chatard in semistate 15-0, 14-1 x 3 = 57-3 (undefeated as frosh and two years of JV). So you are preaching to the choir, but I wouldn't trade a red ring for a loss in semistate because I've always been an advocate for: Sectionals: Coaches seed all the teams, Sagarin used to break ties Regionals: Reseed based on Sagarin within the semistate (1-8) Semistate: Neutral field. Reseed the remaining four teams based on Sagarin. Just my take. It's blue ring or bust from here on out...Like the NCAA Basketball Final Four. There was never any mystique that Chatard was unbeatable especially after 2004 and the winner of the Danville - HH game shouldn't believe so either.
  19. Finally. These teams were on collision courses for years but Chatard was in the way. Excited to play a tradition rich school like Danville.
  20. Thread has run its course. Good luck to TC. Mater Dei will certainly be back to the regional next year.
  21. Did he play as a freshman @crimsonace1? Miss any games for significant injury? Who is recruiting him?
  22. Long awaited thread fizzling out? Colts have an early game, or maybe Mass attendance was higher than normal
  23. It's been fixed and Mr Paladin will spend some time in the hole. As per the game. Heritage Hills sounded like the more physical and better conditioned team. 8-9 in the box and HH picked up more YPC as the game went on. Great HH line play Why are Lawrenceburg'special teams so bad? OOB kickoffs, no punting, no punt receiving and they allow a 2 pt conversion on a botched HH snap? Hope the QB is OK. Sounds like he still has a few years left and could be a major threat if he puts some weight on. And finally the Danville-HH game that Chatard had blocked for so many years. It'll be great to see two tradition rich public HSs square off. HH had a few things to clean up like holding and ineligibles down field which will get you beat from here on. Celebrate and rest today. Will be interesting to see if the game is Saturday or Friday given that the 3A state finals are on Friday. Patriot Pride.

  25. I believe he then went to Wabash. I haven't talked to him since college, but he was a great person to get to know practicing for a week for a SW Indiana HS All-Star Game that no longer exists. Gibson Southern's current coach QB'd the winning West squad. I digress. I hope Mater Dei is back and better next year. They are pretty much guaranteed to be back in the regional. Good luck TC.
