  1. Who has played the most unique opponents? My bet is whatever SB school is oldest, Evansville Central, Reitz, Cathedral or Linton (despite its relatively "closed" current conference schedule. Vincennes Lincoln also could be in the running assuming they didn't absorb any schools during consolidation.
  2. You're missing 3A runner-up Heritage Hills opening 0-2 against teams they have collectively beat 90 or so percent over the past 20 years. Yet somehow they are still ranked No. 15. All due respect to Mount Vernon and Tell City. Another challenge awaits with Boonville and a Navy committed RB/DB.
  3. Are there no penalty clauses for breaking a game contract (I assume something in writing exists?) If the issue was location, did Gibson call the bluff and counter with playing at Southport with something like split gate revenue sharing?
  4. Try a different browser if that's an option and double check there's not an Advanced Settings text link below that chunk of warning text.
  5. There's an indoor track season in Indiana? We participated as our first event in the meet at IU, but I believe that was Heritage Hills' only indoor meet.
  6. What happened to the cries of gentrification in downtown Indy? When I left in 2016, I had many friends in their upper 20s and lower 30s living in areas between the circle and Broad Ripple... unthinkable even 15 years ago. I imagine the median household income for Marion County residents has risen over the past 20 years.
  7. There have been years the best 3A team would've given the best currently 6A teams a challenge. 1999 Roncalli and 2003 Chatard come to mind. If not, they didn't need much more to be as good...certainly not the rosters of all 1-3A teams. It will probably never happen but change the all-star game to 1-4A vs 5-6A.
  8. Yeah, don't think Sagarin will be reliable this year because of COVID until Week 6 or so. Typically by Week 4 all teams are "connected" (outside of closed conferences), so the ratings get better week by week. With the SIAC being closed, we no longer can statistically compare its teams' performances until the playoffs. A bit of a bummer.
  9. Tearing the roof off the bleachers?.?.?
  10. I've never met a Rebel who wants to be a Marksman... But maybe you're right. TC is a notoriously difficult place to stay, as many are still living in the 1980s athletically. I went to school with the Kramers and Harpenaus... Try as we might we could never get Ben, a 6-foot-5 athletic 300 pound lineman, to come play at Heritage Hills with his step brother (same class, went to Wabash to play football). Ben went to Purdue and I think eventually got on scholarship throwing hammer throw.... he was recruited heavily by small DIs and to walk on at Big 10 schools. I then covered TC closely for 5 years 2008-13ish... Lots of really good individual football, basketball, and baseball players. I thought their best recent coach was Ryan George, who left for the Cincy area and before last season he went to Texas...Shame, but if Mac wants to dictate that he coaches at TC in the future, then more power to him.
  11. Coach Webb, while young, has always been tough-minded and intelligent. Being a SS grad, he knows the lie of the land and I'm sure if his team keeps performing as they did against HH, he'll be fine for a few years, then he'll likely dictate where he wants to coach (I know that's a lot to assume two wins in, but if they beat SS, it'll be 3-0 in rival games -- they matter).
  12. Week 3 Memorial vs. Central (at North) ... Did Memorial just not want to give Central the added advantage of playing at home or are there other reasons for playing this game at North? To add to the confusion, Bosse is at Castle, so why is this game not being played at Enlow?
  13. 1. Central 2. North 3. Reitz 4. Southridge 5. Vincennes 6. Jasper 7. Mount Vernon 8. Castle 9. Tell City 10. Forest Park HM: GS, Memorial, Mater Dei,
  14. HH puts it in its Thursday pre-game post. https://www.facebook.com/hhqbclub
  15. Would really make for an interesting season if Memorial is able to beat North.
  16. Interested to see how Southridge tries to contain Mockobee. It's my understanding he projects more as an ATH/WR in college, but last week was used as a RB (I assume to get the ball in his hands as much as possible). Coach Ward is no dummy when he has talent as I remember from his Corydon days, ending Coach Clayton's career in the sectional in an emotional game that saw Coach Clayton's nephew try to go with (I believe) an injured hamstring... I believe some missed kicks also factored into that. I digress. I think this is an interesting matchup, given how long it has been since Southridge and Boonvill played (not in at least 25 years, according to John Harrell's site. I'm too lazy to click through Dan's site to see if Boonville ever played Southridge or even Huntingburg (they had football, right?). ETA: In 1950, Boonville won at Huntingburg 12-0; still unsure if Boonville has ever played Southridge. @Bcaster may know.
  17. Where and when did Coach Brunson play HS football?
  18. The Pete Swanson Effect, may God bless him!
  19. I let the subscription to the host server lapse. Let me see if I can find another free one (needs PHP & MYSQL), or if @DK_Barons can setup up gridirondigest.net/predictor like we used to. I appreciate the interest, but likely until Week 6 this year, Sagarin's rankings will be pretty much useless because of all the cancellations, thus it'll take a few more weeks to get all the teams in the state "connected," which is when his ratings become increasingly trustworthly. Who knows, if unfortunately the tournament doesn't happen for some reason, we may need some TGD junkies to simulate what the tournaments would look like... Back to the pre-tournament, polling days.
  20. For the teams which track missed tackles, I wonder how those numbers are looking after film sessions this weekend and what Monday-Tuesday practices will focus on at most schools across the state.
  21. Hoover Wetvac for me... Strange. I spent the weekend vacuuming the apartment. Google is listening. Even, I remember 10 years ago, I posted a workout photo on Facebook that had a Gatorade bottle pictured. What was *the next ad* I saw on Facebook? Gatorade. Coincidence? As I type this, I see a "Stand With Trump" campaign ad. As I fall in the category of independent/libertarian (small l) and I live abroad, I wonder if the algorithm is sending me the Trump ad because it thinks I'm "undecided" or because absentee voters are expected to play a big role in this year's election.
  22. So what's he doing now? How old? I'm guessing around 60?
  23. Please do not make posts personal when they needn't be. This is a warning. We have a forum where politics can be discussed widely, please use that and not this platform that is intended for sports talk. I know the issue is sensitive and linked, but in the end, we can't have posts being personal or aggressive. If you want to call me a Karen or a Nancy, come meet me in the parking lot behind the mosque near my apartment in northern Iraq. With transfers, you should be able to make it within 15 hours.
  24. Are the small guys OK with this? Any concerns of IHSAA TV monopolizing the space due to the relationship between it and the governing body of the IHSAA that permits broadcasting of games by other companies? Honest question. And I honestly think more games streaming is good, it shouldn't affect gates as some fear (maybe in some cases with in-climate weather, but meh...). So I'm just slightly stirring the pot on what is basically just a PR thread in order to allow smaller/other broadcasters to come in and have a say (positive or negative) about the landscape and their industry.
  25. That's a nice offensive interior 7 for Central -- reminds me of Jasper or Reitz of yesteryear.
