Out of state Competition
hhpatriot04 replied to Indian72's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Is Coach Hart still there? -
I ranked Memorial No. 1 in 4A at the start of last year and was mocked. I'm not sure the Tigers have the weapons (or possibility b/c COVID) to make another deep run, but how do you think they stack up in the SIAC? Still the team to beat until they're beat, I'd say.

No idea how the cancellations will affect the rankings. Out-of-state games were never counted, but now it will take until Week 5-6 for all teams in the state to be "connected" and Sagarin's ratings to be relevant, IMO. -
Out of state Competition

Do away with Indiana's silly travel rule while we're at it. Just write "so long as the athletic competition doesn't interfere with scholastics anymore than our state tournament currently does..." How many regional and semistate and some regular season competitions force our student athletes to leave before school lets out on Friday. This is permitted because the IHSAA expects the school to require the student athletes to make up that missed class work. Make the same rule for inter-state play... put a limit on the number of interstate games per season, unless you have a border school that plays in a surrounding state's conference and isn't affected by the travel. -

That's a bit ambitious. Mount Carmel played in the now dissolved Big 8 as the only Illinois team for two decades (or so). They are a very good 2A team or a solid 3A team (think Southridge). Some years they have gone on state runs in Illinois but they play in a very small class in Illinois. Playing either Cathedral or Chatard would result in a blowout and possibly be dangerous. For a good midstate comparision I'd say they're similar to Indian Creek? -

Arent' there NCAA recruiting reasons why this doesn't happen more? Also I think Cathedral plays once or twice at UIndy. Sadly there are no college football stadiums in Evansville since 1997, although historic Bosse Field (baseball) has been used to host games a few times recently on special occasions. -
I heard at the HH-Jasper scrimmage all HH players were on a knee on the sideline (tradition so spectators can see); however, this year they were also spaced more than 1 meter/yard apart. Not sure that the Wildcats were as disciplined. 😞

Center Grove DL Curry Offered by Bama

Best DT prospect since Ryan Baker? Chatard '04, ND commit turned to Purdue, emphasis on prospect because he didn't have the greatest NFL journey but still can say he made a roster. Apparently he was also a co-captain while at PU. -

I am thinking of using Sagarin's ratings to show the percentage that Team A beats Team B (perhaps with a guessed score and future projections using scoring averages)... Any interest in that? Also, does anyone have a degree in statistiics or finite math? If so, please message or post here. -
So do you only support the "good" Chatard classes? The game I watched was two physical teams, with similar philosophies, going head to head. HH was outmatched by not intimidated. This generation hadn't seen what it takes to beat Chatard, particularly without a passing game. Since you asked, I will enjoy my holiday season from Iraq (non military). I hope you enjoy yours and I'll definitely miss my family in Santa Claus and Carmel --Cathedral and Chatard graduates included.
-
Congratulations Chatard. It was a physical game and even more so when your receiver went out. Chatard did an excellent job of taking Sigler and HH special teams out of the conversation. Nothing but respect from Lincoln City to 56th Street. Competing against Chatard is a privelege and I guarantee in the coming years that we will meet up again.

No need to delete. We will keep it up, because a lot of folks are traveling in Indiana righ بt now and probably have the same question.
-
No problem for heritage Hills fans or former players who fault Chatard for throwing the ball up by three TDs. As someone who played against Chatard teams far better than this iteration, there are no hard feelings. The Trojans deserved it. The Patriots will be back and beat Chatard by multiple TDs. We won't cry or make excuses. Just get better.. Non HH players and alumni need to shut up because you couldn't make it through a single HH practice. Congrats to Chatard.

Yeah. Patriot Nation doesn't care. And I don't believe you represent Bishop Silas Chatard High School. We've heard it all before and have always met Chatard's physicality. It will be an interesting game. Bring all the statistics you want, the Patriots will be ready to play. I sure hope the Trojans starting 22 have the same mindset as you.
