Perhaps in 2001, they would have been on the field together? I played some DL as a sophomore and caught Tichenor trying to cut back on a sweep... Paridean could've played a role on Friday Night Lights. I graduated in 2004, so 2003 was my senior year. HH and Boonville still played in the Coca-Cola Classic or whatever it was called at Castle at the time. All I remember is the free pizza! Getting back to this decade... It's a shame the new PACs and SIAC can't do any Friday/Saturday crossovers ... 4 games in Evansville on Tuesday, 4 on Saturday (boo to soccer). So many of these out-of-conference games are no longer possible. I think Reitz and Jasper will return to the status which they once had. Boonville is improving ... Boonville-Bosse games always seemed to be some wars and I think they are natural opponents. I worry the new SIAC may further isolate SW Indiana football. Should be an interesting experiment.

http://hhqbclub.com/history/HH_gibsonsouthern2002.html Ahh, how could I forget the HH grad. Gibson Southern at that time was always very tough at the JV levels, but couldn't translate it to varsity. Schemes were very basic like Mount Vernon used to do with 1 foot splits and just pound the ball. Frank Tichenor was the scat back and one of the Parideans (Joey had already graduated, I believe) was a bruiser, but he went out early with an injury.

There was discussion on the old board. I remember reading a lot of banter about Steffanich's 2002 team with Paredain and the other RB. His name escapes me. Good skill players, but the line wasn't very good and the Titans couldn't pass.

I don't have an NFL Redzone subscription, so I just watch highlights online and occasionally will go to a sports bar for a big game, but being seven hours ahead (GMT +3) makes it tough. What's the deal with Braunecker? Too many TEs? A step slow? Would he be better in a system like the Pats or Packers employee, where in TEs do more than block?

We've definitely seen an uptick in midfield group praying. I understand it is not obligatory and I don't believe it should be a freedom of speech argument. I'm simply saying that we do live in an ever more pluralistic country. Involving children in clearly publicized group worship could make other children, who haven't yet decided on their faith (or not), feel like they are being out cast if they don't participate. Having lived in places where my religion was the majority and then living in a place where some people are forced to hide their religion, including children, gives one a wider perspective on how public worship can change and influence the actions of the minority. My views are my own and I understand they likely aren't in-line with most in North Spencer or the Pocket of Indiana. Back to football, the PAC really got pigeon holed with this new alignment. Three teams from the same conference which have been ranked in the Top 10 should be able to take home at least two sectional titles (yes Memorial, you're my favorite Evansville school, where I would want to attend, wish you success in 4A, but it's a shame the Tigers, Titans, Patriots, Raiders, and Alices won't play for at least 3 years... In football at least. Basketball and wrestling, I'll take my Patriots this year.) -

No reason for a prayer even led by a student athlete. Did they also recite a Hindu or Buddhist proverb? Jewish quote from the Torah? Islamic prayer from the Quran? Native American ritual song? Really zero reason to exclude non-Christians from a State sporting event. I'll side with the agnostics. -

Any grasp of the jersey by a blocking player should be whistled holding, right? -

Wow. If this is the criteria that you called holding, I would have held in the tackle box offensively and defensively much more. I'm really disappointed in your interpretation of the rule. We were taught offensively to jam and release (drive or form a pocket depending on the play. OL coach played at Hanover.) As we advanced in the tournament, we were specifically shown how certain schools got away with holding if their hands were within the chest. It all makes sense. You enabled it. -
@dawgieinthepound, caskets, cheese, five hour bus rides. #BatesvilleProud

I'll take VL. Traditionally they are the larger school and I think they have been more battle hardened. It is a flaky prediction though. -
Pretty cool view

Just put parameters on its usage. Plenty of teaching, documentary, and film industry uses. IHSAA sounds like it is afraid of legal ramifications or at least bad PR if it's perceived the zebras got it wrong. -

It was Crews and others. They were good but certainly not the depth that the late 90s and early 00s teams had, especially within the tackle box. The 1999 team is debatedly the best, but became decimated by injuries and suspensions. Jaspers run in 2002 was special for that community. The last Reitz state championship team was unbelievable... 2008? -
Game day! Around 128 teams (32x4 in classes 1A-4A) seasons' will end. For most of the seniors, they'll never strap on the pads again or run out for Friday Night Lights. Scores and updates here or #TGD on http://twitter.com/gridirondigest for up to the second updates. Enjoy. How are game time weather conditions in your part of the state?

Playoff Qualification Story (MI)

I would favor starting a week earlier and allowing teams to pick a bye week. I believe Kentucky employees this or a similar system. -
Playoff Qualification Story (MI)
hhpatriot04 replied to a topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Some effectively do by scheduling an "easy" opponent in Week 9. IHSAA could stop this practice or at least lessen it by saying only conference games or games against teams no more than one class apart in Week 9. ADs would hate it though. Out of state opponents would have to be no more than one class removed if classified using the current class alignment cutoffs. -
If you are interested in traveling abroad to teach any subject (fully English), I can give you some recommendations for semester or year gigs. Just message me. Compensation includes transportation, housing, food at school. Instruction in English. Extra salary if you hold a Master's or have any certificates. That's K-12. Some interesting options if you hold a Master's as a college guest lecturer.

Hand them both trophies and remove the 4A state finals. Only semistate in 4A this year. #TheNewIHSAA -
John Harrell's Sectional Predictions %%

Anyone want to compare it with CalPreps and Sagarins predictors? @TW has done this before and I believe win-loss correct predictions was 78 percent throughout the tournament using Sagarin. That was 10 years ago and Sagarin now gives weight to games recent. I've thought about building a win probability feature into the predictor (similar to how the Superbowl for example said the falcons had something like a 98 percent chance of beating the Patriots with their halftime lead). It's not an exact science, but would be interesting to "check" Sagarin whose formulas are used by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee. -
Thank you to all boosters.
