  1. No one cares. HH has always run 8-10 players two ways in the tournament. Conditioning won't be an issue. Exploitation of 1 on 1 matchups by Chatard is a better argument.
  2. No one cares about SOS. Even die hard Chatard fans realized that nearly 20 years ago. HH chooses to play the schedule it has with 40-50 players on the roster. Why beat up your own team in games and risk injury. I guarantee HH practices are tougher than any game they have ever played. Chatard grads would say the same about their practices.
  3. He was also drawing double teams from the very beginning and keeping the OL off the linebackers. I agree at times he was high, but if you look at the photos, he was getting separation and getting into pursuit lanes. Ironically in the week leading up to the game he talked about that exact strategy to the media. I'm sure if the coaches think it is a problem, it will be addressed. What I'm worried about is chop blocks. Chatard is NOT a dirty team. They are a physical team that plays through the whistle. In the trenches though, HH has to be ready to see blocking techniques which border on chopping vs chipping. Chatard wants to get to the HH LBers which by no secret are the strength of these Patriots. How many Durys and Bakers and Frank the Tanks on this Trojans' squad?
  4. 3A and 4A, I think your studs have to play both ways. Others may disagree.
  5. White got us a State Title in 2000 and win over Chatard at Franklin Central in 2004. Speaking of which, don't most Chatard fans believe the 2003 or 2004 teams were the best Trojan squads in the playoff era? For full transparency, I believe there is a general consensus that 2002, 2000, 1999 and the 1980 were best? HH squads were tops. The 1999 roster was better than the 2000, but key injuries particularly to Jon Goldsberry (Purdue/NFL) and a TE, other RB, and a few others made meeting up with Roncalli impossible. Luckily, HH is at as close to full strength as possible this year. And HH does definitely have one of the best LBing corps in the state. A lineman who would start on any 6A team, and 2-3 position players who should make all-state. This is a physical HH team that has had defensive answers for passing teams. Again, all previous success against Chatard is to run at them and not allow their studs to flow. I expect a downhill attack and HH will take what it can get from special teams and the occasional Chatard mistake. Even the best teams make mistakes. It's the coaches and signal caller's jobs to try to exploit them.
  6. And people said that I was crazy for ranking Memorial No. 1 in the 4A poll this season? I did drop them slightly after their loss.
  7. What makes you say this is the best Chatard fan ever? Can you please detail the difference between a city schedule and Catholic team than a regular 3A team? Are they faster? Do they hit harder? Pray better?
  8. Chatard is beatable and no doubt you will see new wrinkles in the HH offense. HH may also get one of their biggest playmakers back. He looked pretty good while celebrating the romp of over matched Danville which clearly was outcoached and outconditioned. Chatard and Heritage Hills have history and much respect. This is the first time they'll meet at LoS. Many these coaches were on staff during the epic battles of the early 2000s. They know what it takes to beat Chatard, and to that point, I see HH running right at Chatard and probing for weaknesses. Special teams and the ability to get the ball in Sigler's hands in the open may be the difference. If you want to see a shootout, don't watch this one. Best of luck to both teams.
  9. Jim is a Danville troll and has nothing to do with Memorial or Heritage Hills. He's about 1 more post away from a season ban.
  10. Pretty dang big... https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/11/21/mark-doyle-anchor-heritage-hills-football-team/4255446002/
  11. In basketball, there is some pushback against three officials because some believe officials are less likely to blow the whistle because so much of their areas of coverage cross. Not sure if you have heard the same argument for football. However, I find it a bit crazy that in the day of the forward pass we expect a side judge to cover so much. Does the umpire in HS now have the option of lining up in the offensive backfield? What are your thoughts on that position vs the traditional way of being near the LBs?
  12. I'm just amazed by the growth. 3A in 2000 essentially 6A now.
  13. Game Day! Winners are guaranteed a trip to Lucas Oil Stadium. Let's see who gets the 12 invitations to the party Post scores and updates here or on Twitter @gridirondigest #TGD
  14. Keep rolling Tigers. Hope the dirty South is well represented at LoS. No doubt Memorial will rise to the occasion.
  15. I was born and lived 4 years near 116th and Keystone. Would've gone to Carmel, so I've seen that growth and on the Southside around Center Grove, but I have never understood the growth moreso on the Westside than the East. In general, I guess the west is more affluent?
  16. I believe Notre Dames TV market exceeds SB city limits, don't you?
  17. In a generation, Zionsville has grown from 3A to 6A. I'm not that familiar about the Westside. What's going on?
  18. Only if it makes it so the classes playing on Friday in the state finals are also the ones to play Friday in semistate at neutral sites no more than a 2 hour drive.
  19. Who is Dan and why does he have a village named after him?
  20. What do you think Danville will bring to the table that HH hasn't seen...not much respect for Gibson Southern, Southridge, Jasper, or Lawrenceburg? Five regular season losses and SOS is now essentially the same.
  21. Good teams like Indianapolis Memorial, erghh? We aren't counting regular season games... Oh the horror, an hour trip from Indy to Bloomington!
  22. There's a McCain (RIP) joke in there somewhere. I know, I'm going to He**!
