  1. Money is a no object when it comes to the advantage endzone cams give in INHSFB. State finals or bust.
  2. Thanks for reminding me to watch the 30 for 30 documentary on Larry Legend. Although a quick YouTube search returned @dawgieinthepound sneaking out of his parents' house to Nat Town to get something that looked like an "American" hotdog smothered in ketchup and ground beef. My great aunt (Carmel native) and late uncle who founded and presided Over-the-Rhine in Cincinnati would be disappointed at the lack of sauerkraut and spicy mustard. Indiana ... home of vice presidents! Back on topic ... When can we get a three-year superweekend, two games on Friday, two games on Saturday between Indy, Cincy, and Louisville teams in one of the cities each year? Ohio can even have four teams (population), Indiana 2, Kentucky 2. I think FOX Midwest or Sports would definitely want to cover it, just keep it away from ESPN and Herbstreit's forays into HS football.
  3. Forest Park (Ferdinand, Ind.) and Harvard standout TE Ben Braunecker may finally get some targets if Burton is a gameday decision (groin). Braunecker is a standup guy and will have a heck of a career post-NFL, regardless. Just throw him the dang ball this year. He's much more than a special teams and blocking TE. Great hands and has suceeded in subpar HS and college programs. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/bears-feel-confident-contingency-plan-if-trey-burton-groin-injury-questionable-cant-play-against-green-bay
  4. Indiana: Cathedral, The 500, and Michael Jackson... Ohio: Moeller, King's Island, and BronBron
  5. Lafayette is north of Marion County and near a certain university with Black and Gold as its colors, right? This southerner doesn't know much about areas which claim to be a part of the Hoosier state north of Westfield! The sprawl is going to make it all the way to Iowa if we don't watch out. Conspiracy.
  6. Hello Community, I've revived the Indiana High School Football Game Predictor Tool that strictly uses Jeff Sagarin's predictor rating and the option of factoring in homefield advantage. Keep in mind that Sagarin only uses direct data from Indiana teams vs. other Indiana teams (no out-of-state games). For improvements, please let me know in this thread if you find errors in computation or otherwise or layout or if you have general feature requests/improvements. Enjoy! Win probability (percentage) is added.
  7. Bosse at Central Harrison at Mater Dei North at Memorial Reitz at Castle
  8. Beating Jasper may not be a win anymore against a Top 10 team in Class 4A, but it is a quality win and a game that unless you are a top tier team in Class 3A or 4A, you can lose -- especially at Alumni Stadium. Jasper is a solid opponent and their luck recently in the sectional shouldn't diminish that too greatly. Everything is cyclical. Give the new system time. The stock and bloodlines run deep in Jasper. They are VERY successful in most other boys' sports, football will return to prominence. Jasper will also benefit in the coming years of attrition from surrounding schools. Many of my classmates and former teammates, for example, work in Jasper. Unlike their parents, they have chosen to live and work in Jasper rather than commute from Spencer County. I would imagine that other school districts are also suffering/benefitting from that phenomenon as well.
  9. Forest Park at Southridge Gibson Southern at North Posey Pike Central at Heritage Hills Tell City at South Spencer Shouldn't be too many surprises in the first three games. Will be interesting to see what the Raiders, Titans, and Patriots want to put on tape (maybe a fake punt, onside kick, fake PAT, try some reverses, etc...) ahead of their games which typically decide the conference. Tell City at South Spencer. If this were at Tell City, I'd be 100 percent behind the Marksmen. Usually South Spencer is dangerous because of 2-3 speedsters who can burn you despite any other issues and they get fired up for home games, especially those against locals like TC, OC, HH, and Boonville. If the Rebel offense finds some firepower, maybe this is interesting?
  10. After Week 2 1. East Central 2. Indianapolis Chatard 3. Mooresville 4. Evansville Reitz Memorial 5. Martinsville 6. East Noble 7. Gibson Southern 8. West Lafayette 9. Evansville F.J. Reitz 10. Marion 11. Evansville Central 12. Indianapolis Brebeuf Jesuit 13. Heritage Hills 14. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial 15. Southridge Post yours...
  11. I forgot the closed schedules. Brain slip... Regardless let's see how long the new alignments hold. Something like (in some kind of order): *Mount Vernon Tell City *Boonville Southridge *Washington *Gibson Southern Jasper/Forest Park/other *Princeton South Spencer
  12. Maybe time for Heritage Hills to add Boonville back to the schedule. There were unconfirmed rumors that Tell City would remain on HH's schedule moving forward. With Jasper taking a bit to adjust to its new coach, HH opening against Mount Vernon, Boonville, Pike Central, and then Jasper before the real PAC schedule starts would be a benefit. However, if Mater Dei continues to have problems finding a Week 2 opponent, perhaps Heritage Hills and the Wildcats should play again. It's always a tough call when you have a small roster as a 3A school to know when to "upgrade" and when you are risking injury by playing too hard of a SoS early in the season. Coach Ward is a class act and is the only coach who can say he was the last to beat Coach Clayton in a game where Coach Clayton's nephew gave a gutsy performance as running back with I believe a pulled hamstring. https://www.spencercountyjournal.com/content/corydon-ends-patriot-football-season-friday
  13. It would seem so. Jasper went 5-5 in 2016, but 4-5 in 1989. Otherwise they haven't had a losing season since 1955 (1-5-1) - http://almanacsports.com/football/history.php?team=JAS Reitz and Heritage Hills have also had losing seasons since then.

  18. After Week 1 hhpatriot04: 5-2 (forgot Mater Dei's game) Everyone else ??? Week 2 Picks for hhpatriot 04 Clarksville Northeast, Tenn. (no one likes Reitz) Owensboro (Central of yesteryear has returned and it's going to take a few weeks to figure it out ... still could compete for the SIAC) Memorial (solid, solid, solid) Henderson County, Ky. (sorry North, love the coach but you're outmatched here) Castle (let's have some faith in Paradise) Terre Haute South (on a roll against the SIAC) Bosse (Bulldogs +/- turnover differential) Mater Dei (it's a long drive from Whiting)
  19. Gordon Engelhardt (https://twitter.com/EngGordon) of the Evansville Courier & Press wrote about this issue affecting Week 1. Interesting insight from coaches. "It’s about time. Indiana finally joined neighboring Illinois and Kentucky by implementing the mercy rule in high school football. It was utilized immediately, going into effect in eight of the 16 season-opening games Friday night and Saturday afternoon across Southwestern Indiana..." https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/2019/08/26/area-football-coaches-agree-time-has-come-mercy-rule/2084812001/
