Irishman Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Not a fan of talking about guys taking over a team when they have a head coach in place, but I have seen and heard this a few times now. 1 Quote
Irishman Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 This is really cool. The other composites he has done for other sports are cool to see too. 1 Quote
temptation Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Harbaugh does it again. Chargers en route to clinching a playoff berth. San Diego Stanford San Francisco Michigan Now the LA Chargers. Damn, Connor Stallions is good. Quote
temptation Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 So I have been out of the loop when it comes to the NFL… Just read that all the Colts need to do to make the playoffs are beat the Giants and Jacksonville and have Kansas City beat the Broncos next weekend? The Chiefs are going to sit their starters, aren’t they? Quote

Sparty Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Do you let Barkley go for the all time single season rushing record in what appears to be a meaningless game in week 18? I say play. Quote
Irishman Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 I agree sparty….with both. Even with Jones a little nicked up, I would not be surprised if the Vikings beat the Lions. 1 Quote
Sparty Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Are the Vikings the “quietest” (arguably) best team (only going off of regular season to date) in the NFL of all time? Quote
Irishman Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Very well could be. Over the last decade or so, every time they started hot, they would collapse at the end. I am guessing a lot of people, myself included were expecting it to happen again this season, but they have gotten better as the season has progressed. Quote

Minnesota sports fans have suffered for a long damn time. You could say that about Buffalo and Detroit also. Would be neat to see one of those three pull it off. 1 Quote

Irishman Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 So what organization is in the worst shape? The Giants? The Jets? The Bears? The Colts? While arguments can be made for each, I am gonna go with the Jets. Similar to the Colts, they do not have a worthy starter. But they also let Rodgers make the calls for people to bring in. Adams was the only one that made sense. And now their coaching search has Rex Ryan on their radar? I was never high on either of the Ryan twins as coaches. Always felt like they were the show. Rex has grown on me with his in studio job. I will always enjoy hearing coaches at any level talking x's and o's. Rex has already had one stint with the Jets. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jets-head-coaching-search-rex-ryan-ron-rivera-on-track-for-interviews-as-2024-season-winds-down/ Quote

Irishman Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 Some interesting scenarios to consider going into the last week of the season. Several of these are pretty healthy bonuses. Several within reach in a single game as well, especially for Evans and Smith at the top of the list. 1 Quote

Tampa Bay and Seattle throwing in the run and shoot offense this weekend! Hopkins thrilled to have a back-up QB playing instead of Mahomes.....🤪K. Murray calling his name down by the goalline regardless of the play the offensive coordinator calls.... 1 Quote

How many calls will Geno Smith change? And the Bucs are in a MUST win spot as well, so that helps Evans. 1 Quote
Sparty Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 Anyone think coaches would ever purposely not go to said player to get bonus? Maybe per management? Man I would hope not. Quote

Better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Quote

Blue collar, white collar, didn't matter, people just dressed nice. You can't even go into a nice steak house anymore without someone sitting next to you wearing sweatshorts and a hoodie. But damn, McDaniel looks comfortable in that picture. If I'm a football coach on the sidelines for 3-4 hour game, I'm probably going the McDaniel, Belichick route. On second thought, maybe Freeman or Day. Freeman proves that you can look comfortable and smart at the same time. Quote

Didn’t the NFL give Mike Nolan grief for wanting to wear a shirt and tie as HC of the Niners? Something along the line of if he did wear a shirt and tie, it had to be NFL attire and they didn’t have NFL shirt and tie attire. Quote

Coaches on the sideline are just walking billboards for the NFL "drip" (stupid slang term btw). But something like this would still work: Simple classic perfection for an NFL head coach. 1 Quote

I guess for what they get paid they should probably just wear what they're told. Quote
