Donnie Baker Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 The big game this week is the battle of The Vermilions. More than likely this game decides the WRC title. Little Trojans at Fountain Centrals The Woofs at Attica Riverton Parkes at Seegers South Vermilions at North Vermilions Visor up Pasta Down! Quote
WWFan Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Why isn't it Atticas? They not allowed an "S"? Quote
WRC123 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Covington @ FC - FC took another beating last Friday. Does anyone know if the Foxworthy kid is back playing qb yet? Covington looked decent against NV at times and I think they are just the better team overall. Covington wins this one 28 - 7 PH @ Attica - PH gets their first win of the season. 32 - 6 RP @ Seeger - RP keeps surprising me. Is FC that bad or is RP legit? I'm thinking a little bit of both. I'll take RP winning this one 30 - 12 SV @ NV - Game of the week. I think NV will keep it close for about a quarter or two but the Wildcats are too much. SV runs away with this one 42 - 21 Quote
GroundSquirrel Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 The Power Ranking is coming early this week from the squirrel. Great to see how the conference did against each other last week. Big game this week in Vermillion county but I wouldn't count on calling it the conference championship quite yet. Here is the Power Ranking for the week. 1. The Visors- Took Care of business Friday. This week the wildcats can show how dominant they truly are or they can show they aren't as good as they think they are. Will be interesting to see Blank on the opposite side of Gibson Field after all the time he spent at NV. Barrett and his kids will be ready but we will see. 2. The Falcons- Defense looked really good Friday. Did the Thomas kid break the school record for sacks in a game? NV had an arieal attack as well and defensively snagged 4 picks. This two week stretch will determine how the Falcons will feel about their season went when November rolls around. Let's see how they perform this week. 3. The Panthers- Great Showing last week for RP and as the season goes on, that week 1 nail biter looks better and better for coach sanders. RP can make a statement these next three as this will be the hardest stretch of their schedule. The Panthers could be sneaky and finish 2nd this year or hell Sanders could make a run for the crown. 4. Seeger- The Patriots have a chance to show they are still good this week. Not knowing much about the Patriots could actually be an advantage for them as previous seasons they fly under the radar and snag the crown at the end of the season. 5. Covington- 4 picks will never help you win but the trojans battled and if they plan NV in the sectional, I wouldn't hesitate to pick the trojans. The Trojans can rebound this week and get some positive momentum. 6. Herb- Injuries Suck but give the mustangs a year and they will be good 7. PH- Attica week go get your free win 8. Attica- Keep FIghting Quote
1st_and_10 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Covington @ FC PH @ Attica RP @ Seeger SV @ NV Quote

Dolts Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 https://www.facebook.com/share/p/NMjqmxCfQWsxVfdG/ Kudos to the Wolves players for being able to handle some adversity like playing a majority of the season without your head coach. Who will be the interim for the rest of the season? Quote
GroundSquirrel Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Ok the Squirrel has been binge eating nuts in thinking about how this week's games will go. Arguably the two best matchups we have seen so far this season and two toilet bowls, but this wee k will determine how the WRC crown will go this year. Covington at FC- Give me the Trojans by mercy rule PH at Attica- Woofs RP at Seeger- Great test for the Panthers. Sanders has yet to beat the Patriots, but the Patriots I believe are down this year. The game is in Parke County and I think Sanders and his crew are ready. Panthers win in dramatic fashion 36-32 SV at NV- The game of the week? Neigh the Year. A ton of story lines in this week's county showdown. County Championship, Blank's return, Rodriguez vs Barrett, Conference title up for grabs. One question for me is will Crabtree be in Attendance? Here is what the squirrel thinks, I whole heartedly believe SV is the much better team, but the NV secondary is legit and the weather calls for rain friday. Arod is a defensive mastermind and I think he will have the wildcats figured out. Game is at Gibson, the Falcons haven't beat SV yet this decade. SV is high up on the horse after beating Sullivan but I think the conference slips out of their control this week because of weather and the best secondary they play will be this one. UPSET CITY in Northern Vermillion County Friday give me NV 44-34. The Squirrel has spoken and I like nuts but I am not Nuts Quote

Seems to me he's been out on nv football for some time. Why would those kids care that he is on the other sideline now? I've heard sv is starting a boy volleyballs team since it is an ihsdoublea sport now. Maybe Blank will coach that for sv since he has experience? Quote
Bear54 Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Week 4, it's getting interesting... Covington @ Fountain Central - The Trojans hung tough last week, but couldn't keep that Falcon D off them for long. The Mustangs barely had any offense at all against RP, even with their starting QB playing most the game. Trojans rebound, Mustangs still reeling. Cov 24 FC 14 Parke Heritage @ Attica - With or without their head coach, the Woolfs can take this one. Oh Ramblers, I had such high expectations! PH 34 Attica 7 Riverton Parke @ Seeger - Apparently, Herb had no answers for that Panthers D. I also heard RP didn't even throw a pass. 46 points all on the ground, that can't be true, can it? The Patriots own this match up. I think they want to keep it that way. Winner of this game will still have WRC hopes. RP takes this one in a squeaker. RP 30 Seeger 28 South Vermillion @ North Vermillion - Visors look to extend their streak over the Falcons, but I heard they looked sloppy at times at Rockville last week. Falcons D looks to prove they are for real. Coach ARod has stirred up high hopes for the Cayuga faithful. Falcons fight hard, but their old secret weapon comes back to get them. SV 34 NV 33 Quote

Kind of off topic, but I forgot this was becoming a thing. I have a feeling it won't have an impact on baseball, but there are a few schools hurting for guys coming out for track. My guess is there will be even fewer guys wanting to run track with the integration of this. A lot of football coaches encourage track for their players to get them faster while still competing in sports. I'm not saying being able to jump high and slap balls down really hard can't help in football, but I'll take a lot of speed on my team over everything else any day. Speed Kills, some might say its a State Law! Quote

SV offered a spray tan package that he couldn’t refuse. I heard from sources at the st Bernice tavern that blank will be the grand Marshall for the victory parade late Friday night. This is to give thanks for all the daily/ weekly inside info he gives them. Quote

DoctorShrimpPuertoRico5 Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Week 4 is here… hard to believe we’re here already. biggest game of the week maybe even of the whole season is here. Northern Vermillion County should be absolutely PACKED. A year back they played a classic. SV pulled away in the last minute and a half. I believe it will be the same game this year… different outcome. Good things are happening in vermillion County. Both teams are looking lethal. Conference in decided this Friday night. The NV seniors should be out for a win speaking they’ve yet to win against them. Give me NV over SV 35-28 Parke Heritage in a rough spot finally gonna get some good momentum. PH over Attica by however much they want Covington came out hot and slowed the NV offense down and then let things fall apart. I think Moore should have a bounce back game. Give me Covington 50-12 Meanwhile RP is looking good. Seeger is a team who can play but I think the panthers get the patriots 42-16 Quote

It seems to me from what I saw of the nv/covington game that covington was much better than the 13 points they scored. nv was lucky to make it out. This week is all Trojans. Trojans XXL, Mustangs XXS Woofs at Attica has to be one of the more interesting matchups this week in my opinoin. I think a lot of people expected more from the woofs. I've not really seen either team play(Do they livestream?). It'd be fun to see a shootout here. Give both of the teams so confidence in moving the ball. I'm going to call upset this week. Lot of distractions for Parke County this week. I read in an article about Attica that was posted on the GID that Attica wanted to close out Bruce Lewis Field with a win. This is the week to make that happen. Attica 20, PH 18 Panthers at Mel Gibsons. RP is the darkhorse to win the WRC. That's the truth. Would love to see them win out. If their is a program deserving of the WRC Title this year.. it has to be RP. I have no comments on Seeger honestly other than it seems they may be back to the Seeger team we've been used to the last 10 years. RP is doing what winners do. Taking care of business. RP 34 Seeger 8 Visors at (This used to be Crabtrees, is it Rodriguezs now? Sure is!) Rodriguezss certainly on paper closed the argument of their easy schedule. Livestream was a bit laggy but trojans moved the ball almost at will. I think the argument between Key-In Moore and Andrew Botner isn't settled. Both of them had mediocre games imo. Garzo 2.0 is playing as good as we've seen him. Athletes all around. Blank pouring his secret sauce into the OL. Regardless of people saying SV is sputtering.. they are doing what winners do, WINNING. I saw @GroundSquirrel mention NV had 4 picks last week? I didn't watch the hole game but I noticed they don't have any stats on maxpreps. Was it 4 picks by committee or does NV have a stud defender? Visors won on a hail mary praise jebus last year. Won't need that this week. They are the better team, and based on what I've read, they stole all the secret sauce from NV, along with getting inside information everyday.. SV 35, NV 7 Quote
