GOLDRUSH1985 Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 (edited) Give me CP 42-21. Edited November 11, 2024 by GOLDRUSH1985 Quote
GOLDRUSH1985 Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 I'm wondering if Carroll will be the first team to make Crown Point's starters play a full game . Quote

I think Carroll with be the best team they've faced this year. I say that loosly as I think Merrillville is right up there in the same league as Carroll. The Chargers are big in the trenches, probably unlike anything CP has seen this year. They also haven't seen a QB like Sullivan this year. I look at how Carroll did in Weeks 1 & 2 vs HSE and CG. They played both teams tough, but in the end, it wasn't enough. I think CP is, at the very minimum, on equal footing with CG and HSE. So give me Crown Point 28-14. Quote

My vote is yes. I also agree with BTF that Crown Point is probably closer to HSE and CG than they are to Carroll which is why I think it'll be Crown Point 31-17. I don't know where I saw it posted on here but someone mentioned that Sullivan's supporting cast at Carroll was "alright," "average," or something along those lines and if that's the case, I don't know if they have the firepower and weapons around Sullivan to threaten the Bulldogs back end of their defense. Friday should tell us a lot about the Bulldogs and Chargers. Quote

The Chargers have a few with speed and ability to make difficult catches. I would be surprised if this was a high scoring game considering CP's offense has a tendancy to burn clock and I doubt Carroll's O will be completely kept in check. IF the Caroll OL can contain pressure and Sullivan is on this could be a lot closer than people think. Otherwise, I'll take CP by about 17 as I don't think Carroll will keep the CP offense in check. Crown Point does a good job in their 3-5 of making it hard for the QB to read a blitz or drop back in coverage from the LB'ers. Carroll's O is a really good litmus test for CP. Quote

Their top WR can definately test CP's secondary if Sullivan has time to throw. He had some nice receptions in the game I watched against HSE's secondary. Quote

The fact that Carroll has what can be defined as a really good HS Quarterback and good skill players on the outside could make this game a challenge for CP. I don't think CP's Secondary is as "weak" as they were a year ago but I'm sure if anyone HAD to pick a weakness of this year's team it would still be the Secondary. Going to be fun to watch CP get challenged in the back end and see how they handle that. Quote
RegionFBFan Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 CP rolls Carroll! CP offensive attack is based on power running game but mixed in with play action with good receivers and two very good tight ends. Good old fashioned slobber knocker football. Defensively, this is where CP has improved the most from last year. Secondary is light years better than last year but this is where I’d attack them though. CP will not be intimidated by the size of Carroll oline or the speed from Carroll. They have seen very good speed from Merrillville and Michigan City. i don’t think it will be a running clock for CP and I think their starters will play in the 4th. Quote

IMO, that is an offense that will not work against a big/strong defense that's also faster than you, aka LN or Ben Davis from last year. Edited November 14, 2024 by Boilernation Quote

Carroll's D is pretty stout. If they know CP is going to run everytime, they have the personel to knock heads with them. Quote

Justasportsfan Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Carroll moved a LB over to rb1 who combined with a shifty rb2 may cause some issues..I think he has only played a few games on offense so not tons of film on him..I think he has eclipsed 100yds in 3 out-of 4 games he played rb..not saying Carroll wins I just think Dinan will throw a few offensive wrinkles at buzea. QB is going to MIami (OH). 2 best receiver's are a 6'4 TE going to Indiana State and a 6'3 TE who is only a Jr. and already has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana and a few MAC per 247. He's possibly their best player. Very good at LB as well. Quote
temptation Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 (edited) Gotta admit that Carroll has the opportunity to do something hilarious tomorrow night. While I don’t think they will, this board would be appointment viewing Saturday morning. Edited November 14, 2024 by temptation Quote

They probably have the only defense up north to keep that offense somewhat at bay and I could have seen them in person right here in Fort Wayne. Anyhow, Carroll has an uphill climb. I don't think the long bus trip helps. Either way, Crown Point appears to be the gem of the north this year. I stand by all previous predictions. 4 minutes ago, temptation said: Gotta admit that Carroll has the opportunity to do something hilarious tomorrow night. I think there's a gap between being the 2nd best team in the state vs being the 10th best team in the state. But you're right, Saturday morning would be interesting to say the least. Quote

Sure, Fishers got hit hard by Westfield a few weeks back, losing by 34, but Fisher's recent wins over Noblesville and HSE show they are on a roll and could be ready for a come back. Might just be the recipe for an upset! And with Indiana’s win-or-go-home system, all bets are off. Anything can happen tomorrow night—Friday Night Lights at its absolute best! Let’s hope for great plays, no injuries, and a scoreboard that keeps us all on the edge of our seats. May the best team win and everyone leave with just a good story to tell! Quote

That’s what they said about Michigan last year vs OSU, Bama and Washington. Buzea’s style is very much like Harbaugh’s. Physically beat you up over 4 quarters with two TE’s mixing in play action with an athletic, smart QB. People get to enamored with shiny, flashy toys on offense. Game is won and lost in the trenches.
