Then they should provide “a small fraction” of special education classes.

Never ask a question you don’t already know the answer to, amiright Bobref?   I’d imagine that is taught in day 1 of lawyer school.

Some do.

Not all private schools are the same, just as not all public schools are.

The recent Mt Vernon/Cathedral drama points to that.

Thanks for the heads up.  I missed it.

You haven’t missed anything yet! There’s still the possibility of the wonderful feeling you’ll have after donating to the cause of celebrating Indiana High School Football.

The link you provided didn’t include an address to send my cash to. Thank you.

Sure it does. Click the 'Donate' box, then on the next screen enter the amount. Then on the next screen, choose how to pay.

Do you have evidence of this? I don't ever remember Luers having a 3A enrollment until recently. A school built on a foundation of God manipulating enrollment numbers for the sake of winning championships would be really bad if that were true. But I don't think it is.

2017-2018 and 2018-2019 enrollment period. Luers was smack dab in the middle of 3A enrollment. Didn't have a lot of success in those two years. Crazy enough when the next enrollment period came around, they were back to 2A enrollment and playing in 2A. So yes manipulating enrollment numbers for the sake of winning isn't as crazy as it sounds.

I can't comment on your insinuation.  But it did spark a curiosity for me.

Looking at 2017 numbers, FWCS was by far the largest pool of voucher recipients.

FWCS - 4,711

Indianapolis PS - 3,584

South Bend - 2,630

Evansville-Vanderburgh - 1,569

East Allen Schools - 1.011

I get the MSD Township schools of Marion County are in the 500 - 900 range, but what is it about FWCS that made them so voucher-heavy in 2017?

Bishop Luers played in 3A for six seasons from 2013-2018. As a long time follower of the Luers program, I'm quite certain their lack of success during that time period had something to do with transfer of power from father to son. Luers is playing at a level right now that shouldn't make them any difference whether they are in 2A or 3A. That being said, I can't speak of Luers enrollment numbers nor the notion that they may have manipulated them. IF they did, then shame on them. But that's a big if.

I understand. I'm not saying that they did or didn't manipulate them either. Just wanted to provide your evidence and say that based on the numbers it wouldn't be crazy for someone to make an assumption because of them.

I totally get it. I've always appreciated the Luers program being a Fort Wayne guy. But I noticed a major cultural shift back in the mid 90's. Feel free to PM me.

I believe at one time (into the 90’s?), classification was based on male enrollment in top 3 grades.

It was 9-11 male enrollment until class basketball started and the used the same enrollment metric for all schools (and eventually made it 9-12, as some schools - especially in IPS and Gary - have much smaller senior classes, so 9-11 was pushing their enrollments up).

9-11 was seen as useful because those would be the students in the school when the classifications took effect.

On day 1 you learn the answer to almost any question is, “that depends.”
