One, I was hired by the athletic director to do it.

Wow, the athletic department of a government high school the size of New Palestine has enough money for such an extravagance?  I bet you feel lucky.

Two, 28 years in professional media covering high school, college and professional sports in Indiana, 9 at newspapers, 19 in broadcasting. Former Indiana Sportscaster of the Year, Indiana Media Relations Director of the year, multi-time AP & Hoosier State Press Association award winner, former president of the Indiana Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association ... need any more qualifications? I have a pretty good handle on the media landscape in our state.

Sounds like you could be doing better.  Is this your retirement "gig"? Kind of like a Walmart greeter?

Do you have a list of professionals those coaches should turn to whom you would 'deem worthy' of being asked such a question?

Ironic, I'd guess most people on this board think similarly of your antics here.

Are all individuals on a high school football team 18+?  Guess  should amend my statement to "Just a game, mostly played by children"

I imagine most seniors are divided between 17 & 18 year old's.

Not my first rodeo on the GID, but thanks. Been awhile since someone referred to me as "young man," but I'll take the compliment.

Not sure what I said that was "hyperbole." If you don't think football coaches put in an "obscene" amount of time in relation to their time, then I'd say you're a little lost.

With social media, website, graphics, et al, and with the number of media members who cover our school's teams on a regular basis, having someone to do athletics communications is pretty important. Our school just happens to have a veteran of the media on its teaching staff to do that work. Believe me, it's a very, very, very part-time job.

Sounds good

Maybe repost some of your old content so that he sees it again. Maybe the one holding refs accountable in a dive bar after the game.

Amount of time in relation to their monetary compensation.

any bar* most likely a dive bar due to proximity to a school, however the only real requirement is an establishment to get drunk at.

Hmm, moving the goalposts I see.

Nobody is forcing these individuals to take head coaching jobs.  Maybe if several such positions would go unfilled due to the monetary compensation packaged things would change.  Doesn't an "obscene" amount of time demand a similar amount of monetary compensation?

And I see more assistant coaches than ever on high school sidelines on Friday nights.  Don't their jobs exist to reduce this supposedly "obscene" amount of time for the head coach?

Goalposts never moved goofball.

Who implied these coaches were being forced? No, an obscene amount of time at the high school level doesn't "demand" a similar amount of compensation. High school coaches know what they're getting themselves into. They do it for the passion.

I'm pretty sure most head coaches will tell you that assistant coaches help make teams better, not reduce the time a head coach has to put forth. Good grief, you're a lot of work.

I feel like you're a prosecutor and I'm on the witness stand. Because I suggested a coach's pay doesn't justify their time. Do you seriously have nothing to do? You really wanna die on this hill? You're making a fool out of yourself. Certainly there's something else to debate? Wait, forget I said that. You hate young people. You cry every time taxpayers do something good them.

Why does @Muda69's spouse give you advice? Is it good  advice?

Or does this mean you are @Muda69's sockpuppet? You're answering a question I posed to him. So confusing.

In any event, Muda and I are already boosters, no need for us to compete in your special booster olympics.

I'd suggest getting in touch with your fanboi BTK. He boosted a few weeks ago, then went *poof*, so he's not using his.

Maybe he'll share with you. You seem a little desperate.

"Passion" usually doesn't pay the bills.  Cold, hard cash does.

Thank you. So the time a head coach has to put forth is unchanged regardless of whether or not they have any assistant coaches or possibly administrative-type help.  I don't believe you, basically based on what what stated earlier here regarding at least one high school coach and media requests.

Stop talking out of both sides of your mouth.  First you whine and cry about the "obscene" amount of time a high school head football coach's job supposedly takes.  Then when questioned about that statement you say "but they do it for the passion so that makes such work OK" and bring up the money angle.

I have plenty to do.  Enjoyed yesterday hiking through the woods of southern Indiana, had a great time. Today I spent mostly on a home renovation project.

I don't exactly what "hill" I am supposedly willing to die on here.  Please, elaborate.

So, are you an attorney?  And this is a court of law?

I've never understood why members here create a huge show/scene about leaving the Forum, then create an even more annoying personality/account when they 'think' they'll sneak back in.
