Bashing the other team and coach appears to have become standard procedure as we've seen earlier in this thread. Whether it's on a social media site such as this one or out in public doesn't seem to make much difference any more.

This is sad for Fleeger. Hopefully he loses his job for this. How pathetic to tell police on the scene he had to be told who Freeman was. Anyone in that part of the state is going to know who Freeman is.

He had recruited Vinny to wrestle at New Prairie High School and the New Prairie RTC that he runs . Think he was Butthurt when the Freemans told him no . He knows exactly who Marcus is .

New Prairie does have a great wrestling program. I remember a Team State where we forfeited to Christian Carroll rather than have him hurt my son, lol. I don't think Christian had a match longer than :20 that day.

How do you think Carroll ended up at New Prairie ?? Hopefully the Ihsaa will take a real close look at the NP wrestling program .

Yes, he wasn't there much that year, doing National stuff. Not sure he stayed more than a year.

Carrol won a State Title for NP after transferring from Penn . Rumor was he was leaving Penn for Jimtown but ended up at NP .  Appears Fleeger was trying to steal another Penn wrestler . I would say NP has a few very good wrestlers(transfers in), but a great team ?? Nah

Yeah, I looked it up. HH beat them 45-21 at Team State that year. I guess Carroll was at 220. Whitenack was the hwt.

I was actually referring to this years NP team . This years team may be the best one in years . They will probably end up top 6-7 at individual state . But having 3-4 studs does not make a great Team in a dual format .

That's some real potato quality video at Mishawaka High School, but it was taken from pretty far away.

The clip I saw yesterday was much better than this one. That's terrible. Whoever copied the video to post on this tweet didn't know what they were doing.

Say a prayer for Wisconsin. They were already close to the bottom in NIL specding and have lost some key players to the portal.

Have to admit it will be sooooooo weird rooting for a visiting team playing at Lambeau. 😆

Today is the 52nd anniversary of one of the great upsets in college basketball history, as the Irish score the last 12 points of the game to end UCLA’s historic 88 game win streak. This unbelievable game followed 19 days after ND upset #1 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl to win the natty, and I saw both in person. Quite a start to my last semester under the Dome.

A lot of people don’t remember, but the last time UCLA lost a game before Jan. 19, 1974 was … to Notre Dame as well. My freshman year when the great Austin Carr scored 56 to turn away Sidney Wicks, Curtis Rowe, Henry Bibby, et al. I was in attendance at that one, too.

IIRC, that's the Dwight Murphy game!  I can remember exactly where I watched that game!

Back to football!  I would hope that all Irish fans, and non fans, watch the latest edition of "Here Come the Irish."  If you have NBCSN or Peacock it's available.  It answers a lot of questions brought up in this thread.  IMO, it's the best segment of this series.

Except that isn't true for every sport or league, and it’s not even true for the CFP considering there are five conference champions that don’t automatically qualify.

From a philosophical standpoint, you play the games for the sake of competition and the opportunity to win. Practically, now, we have a college football season for people to make money and be entertained and to select a field of teams for a twelve-team playoff.

My position on automatic qualifiers would be the same if Notre Dame was in a conference. I don’t care for this qualifier that ND has secured, although I can understand why the agreement was made between the CFP stakeholders, and I’d be fine with ND not having one while others do.

It’s a shame to think IU’s first conference championship since before Americans walked on the moon would be rendered pointless if it didn’t come with an automatic qualifier to the college football playoff attached.

Duke was the ACC champion and it didn't get an invite to the football dance!  I don't know how many ACC championships the Dukies have won, but it hasn't been many.

I think you mean Dwight “The Iceman” Clay. He’s the one who hit the game winner.

Yep, that's it!
