Penn gets mercy-ruled at Freed Field. Never thought I’d see the day.

I also thought I’d never see Penn and Carmel both get mercy-ruled on the same night.

Sheridan was missing 12 players. They did not state the reason.

Getting that a lot up here (NW Indiana)...

Teams missing a couple of players each week for unknown reasons.    It hurts the small schools but the bigger schools, you hardly even notice.

Was watching a college game last night and the announcers mentioned that Tennessee had been unable to scrimmage on Saturday as they had over 40 players out ... although not all were COVID-related.  Was thinking about that with regard to sports betting and pick 'ems.  Sometimes the injury of a skill position or cornerstone player can impact the bet/pick and that news is typically readily available.  On the other hand, the COVID report tends to be relatively low-key or potentially non-existent to the public and, even when it is, due to privacy issues, it rarely mentions players by name/position ... which makes sense, but makes sports betting and pick 'ems more problematic as you are dealing with a lot more unknowns.

Sheridan was missing a couple of few players QB being one but they was not down 12 players.

According to the writeup in the Hamilton County Reporter they were:

https://readthereporter.com/tri-central-hands-hawks-first-loss/

"The Class 1A No. 9 Blackhawks, playing their first Hoosier Heartland Conference game of the season, were without 12 players for various reasons, but coach Bud Wright wasn’t interested in excuses after the game, saying he was “really, really disappointed” with some of the performances."
