If you enjoy watching 22 high school age kids play paddy-cake then i am not surprised you enjoy PH games or that you find SP blocking through the whistle and finding opportunities to block downfield to be "dirty". 

Poking eyes in piles, twisting ankles, and late cheap shots are without a doubt dirty play and unacceptable, three things i have never seen from an SP team.  But if you want to side with a set of refs that are typically restricted to calling JV/Jr. High games and are not aware enough to blow the whistle while a 6-3 190 lb (to correct the terrible misquote earlier in the thread)drives Attica's qb backwards and forcing him to finish the tackle then more power to you. If you have the opportunity to review the livestream film you will also see the refs wait long enough to walk over to the qb, see that he is "hurt", then decide to throw the flag. Secondly, the opinion of a team still licking their wounds after their best strategy for stopping SP's run game was to dive and the offensive lineman's ankle and hold on for dear life probably should not hold much water. 

 

 

Good point on hitting. Seegers, Fountain Centrals and Rockville were hard hitting teams in the ode days. Now if you hit hard you’re dirty and stuff. You could hear the hits when those teams played. Now it’s all wussy ball. I gotta go

The entire game comes down to if South Putnams can match the Wolfs score for score.  If they can, then they will have a great chance to win.  If they can’t, then the Wolfs will win by a few scores.  I really think it’s that simple.

Why does everyone think the Woofs can score every time they have the ball? They haven’t been hit all year. How will they respond to contact? How can they score when South Putnams is going pound and grounds?

Not sure the defense can get to Johnson fast enough to throw him off his game. He can get rid of the ball quick. Also South Put has not played an offense like the Wolves

Yeah, SP has not seen an offense that can throw a screen or bubble, let alone a qb that can run. SP has only faced glorified homeschool teams from what i have seen as opposed to PH's FBS schedule.

2-6’2” 250lbers at Guards. They can move

6’5” 280 tackle. 6’3” 230 tackle

6’1” 225 center 

1 of those guards was Junior All-State and only Junior 1st team Wabash Valley.

@speaglefan what’s the age of the Eagles team? Are they mostly a JR/SR team? 
 

I believe PH will lose 4-5 players that will impact their team next year.

9 seniors, 8 of those starters.  JV had a good record this year.

I’m sure PH is hoping that’s the defense South Put putting in place for Friday night. If so it may be a long night for the defensive backs.

Must have missed his 60 yard bombs right on the money to the best receiving core in 1A. 

 

On a serious note, do you guys have someone who can cover Noble J 1 on 1? If it takes 2, that might play into wolves favor to open it up for the other 3-4 guys. Anthony Wood is best open field runner I’ve seen since his cousin earl let NV to state.

Everyone is so touchy these days.  It must be this election thing or Covid or just some thin-skinned folks who just can't take things with a grain of salt.  In the immortal words of Sgt. Hulka - "lighten up Francis".

Back in the day, we didn't think a couple personal fouls were a bad thing.  Kinda put the other team on their heels and looking over their shoulders.  One late hit on a QB might make him get rid of the ball a little quicker the next time he throws.  

WeBo's 7 wins were against teams with a combined 22-46 record.  Seeger's opponents were 23-47.  I feel this should be a competitive game and either team has a shot.  Seeger does have the advantage of playing in beautiful West Lebanon.  Funny thing, isn't Western Boone considered west Lebanon?  Hmmm.......

A former player toad me yesterday the 2 hardest hitting teams he played against were Sheridan on South Putnams. Remember Doug Planks and Gary Fencick of Da Bears? They blowed up at least one receiver every game and sent a strong message. I swear to God they did!
