Per our annual announcement, we are approaching the off season, during the offseason, there will be job openings, both for Head Coach and Assistant Coaches throughout the state.   

Very important that our community here at the GID abides by these simple guidelines  

1.  STICK TO FACTUAL INFORMATION VIA ESTABLISHED MEDIA SOURCES. 

• Rando on Twitter Not an official source
• "I heard" is not a great way to start the sentence.... so you too GID Forum members, are NOT an official source
• News Media/print/otherwise, is an OFFICIAL source
• Announcements coming from the actual School, OFFICIAL SOURCE
• Annoucements coming from the ACTUAL COACH HIMSELF, official source 

2.  LET THE PROCESS PLAY OUT

• The Gridirondigest official stance has always been to let coaches make decisions without the rumormill flying around these parts.  
• Reasons why a coach will POTENTIALLY move on to another job are many, it is not our job to speculate on reasons why
• Coaches at times will interview or even apply for jobs and they deserve to do so with anonymity to do so

West Washington is a 1A south program that plays in the Patoka Lake Athletic Conference. West Washington is a community with deep pride in their football program. The program has had a lot of success in the past. 

 

Our story is pretty well known. With the passing of our head coach Phillip Bowsman during the 2019 season, the 2020 season brought a lot of challenges emotionally. Despite the challenges, the 2020 season was a success. The board decided that the navigation of the season should be steered by a coach familiar with the players, specifically the senior class. Therefore, I was the asked to be the Interim Head Coach. 

 

With the conclusion of the 2020 season, the board and community are ready to turn the page on this chapter and move forward.
