I moved to Indiana in the summer of ‘69. Played high school baseball in the Spring of 1970. I led off for Munster and our first game was played in about 45 degrees of blustery wind, spitting rain. With the first pitch of the game, the pitcher from East Chicago Washington hit me right on the elbow. I couldn’t feel anything in my left arm for 3 innings. BTW, the pitcher for ECW was Tim Stoddard.
