I can see the ripple effect now; just like when the Packers fired Lindy Infante. They hired Forrest Gregg away from the Bengals. The Bengals then turn to then IU coach Sam Wyche. So the Bears fire Eberflus, and then hire Freeman, and then Notre Dame turns to Cignetti for their next hire.

And then the Colts fire Gus Bradley and hire Eberflus...........................

Various Chicago reporters on Thursday mentioned that it was taking longer than normal to have access to the Bears locker room post game. I just heard on Chicago radio that multiple players were screaming at Flus after the game with Jaylon Johnson leading the way. And Poles definately told Warren / McCaskey he was firing Flus after the NE game and was told he couldn't.

it's well known Dan Quinn was one of the finalists when Flus was hired. Per Dave Kaplan, a former Bears exec told him the Bears flew Quinn into Chicago with a middle seat coach ticket in the back of the plane.

Ryan Poles did not look happy at the podium today. Looked like a man who had been clipped by Warren.

I think he looked pissed off that they are in the situation they are in, some reports say he wanted to give him the AXE after Patriots game, but wasn't given the green light by George.

The bottom line when it comes to the NFL, we really won't truly know because we are not behind those walls.   Agents/Players/Coaches with agendas leak things to the Ian's and Schefter and Glaziers of the the world, hard to figure out what is real and what is fabricated for personal gains in the world of NFL

Vrabel

Okay, you hire blue collar toughness in HC in Vrabel, cool, why did he get fired from Tennessee?

https://www.si.com/nfl/titans/news/report-poor-communication-misunderstanding-led-to-titans-firing-mike-vrabel

Next question, you hire Vrabel, defensive centers HC, he gets a suitable OC, that OC then moves on to HC, then new OC, then moves on to HC and now you have lots of voices again for Caleb to work with in his short career in the NFL, to me that is not a great model

Ben Johnson:  MY CONCERN:  How is this any different than Matt Nagy?  Nagy 2 time playoff Bears coach, hired from an organization who has a big time ALPHA HC, in Reid.   Ben Johnson, been doing his thing with another Big Time ALPHA has the HC.  Didn't we do this already??   What makes Johnson different?   Bears hire Johnson, cool, does he get to bring all those really good OL with him?

I think I would like to see JOE BRADY:

Reasons:

1.  Successful with elite QBs of Joe Burrow and Josh Allen and has been involved in great winning programs of LSU (national title) and Buffalo Bills

2.  Has a good mix of RUN and Pass

3.  Uses BOOTS/ QB movement for success

4.  Has experience in coaching in cold weather cities.

That is my Horse !!!  The Horse is Joe Brady

Vrabel got fired because the organization could not produce an elite QB. He’s got one here.

That said, I could get behind Joe Brady. My concern with him is the absence of head coaching experience. At any level.

Amy Adams Strunk...is she the same owner that pushed away legendary Coach Tony D'Amato for the up and coming offensive minded Nick Crozier?  As a result, the Miami Sharks were never the same.......

Okay Bears Nation on GID

Do you give up 2 2nd round picks or any picks for that matter to bring in Kyle Shannahan?

No.   Why does he want to leave the 49er's or the 49er's want to get rid of him?

I'm on the fence regarding Vrabel. I think he would immediately change the culture and take control of the locker room. A group of players, lead by Johnson and Brisker, just learned they can't their way if they squawk enough.  But, like you alluded to, pair CW with a good OC and then the OC is likely leaving for a HC job.

Great point on Johnson. I would say in comparison to Nagy he's actually calling the plays whereas Nagy wasn't with Reid. But, can Johnson take control of an entire team and look good without Detroits OL? Johnson is also reportedly very selective about who he would leave Detroit for. Maybe he's aware of some weaknesses that would get exposed in Chicago.

Love Brady for his resume. No idea if the guy could actually lead as a HC.

Out of the list above I'd be contect with either of them. Though I think Warren marked his territory in that presser and made it clear that he's running the show with Poles providing input. From what I've heard from Chicago media guys is that Warren commands attention in every room he's in. I have a feeling he's going to go the route of hiring someone like himself, which would point to a Vrabel or Flores type of guy. Honestly, the more I hear from Warren the more I feel like he sounds like a politician. He should stick to trying to build a new stadium and let Poles do his job as GM.

If you want a successful coach, find an up and coming really good special teams coordinator and hire them. They are the best options for head coaches. Too many OC's and DC's getting head coaching jobs. They know how to relate with guys on only one side of the ball most times than not. Special teams guys work with any and all players on the team. They know how to connect with any and all players on the team. Hire a special teams coach to be the head coach and make big time decisions. Bring in OC's and DC's to do exactly what they are good at, calling the offense or defense.

After yesterday's debacle I just don't care anymore.   You would think that most of the players wouldn't just lie down like that against the 49'ers, especially when most of them got their way with Eberflus's firing.

No, they will end up with a 4-13 record. The only solace I can take is that the Colt's in Manning's first season were 3-13, and then they started to take off from there.  Let's hope for the same for young Mr. Williams.

THIS!!! Some of the ego's on the D had the loudest voices in the locker room when it came to knocking Flus and they give up over 300 yards of offense in the 1st half!!! LOL. Williams has now been sacked 56 times this season. The closest to that number is Stroud at 41.

And not having Flus defensive influence showed.   The guy can coach and scheme Defensive ball.

Yep. He'll get picked up quickly in the offseason and be just fine.
