I didn’t go. Sadly, I can’t find a single thing about it. If I go to the websites of the local newspapers covering each school, there isn’t a single article about it. The Columbus East Athletic Department Facebook page hasn’t even said a thing. They’ve got articles about every other sporting event that took place over the weekend except football.

Corydon hosted Providence Friday night for the scrimmage. It was a good scrimmage for both teams, lots of things to work on before week one. Tons of penalties from both squads. Luke Keller is entering his 4th season with big expectations from the football community here in Corydon. This is the largest senior class we have had since the 2011 season when we lost to Chatard in semi state. Bobby Sharp will lead the Panthers in his 4th year as a starter coming off a late season injury last year. Out wide we see seniors JoJo McCarty and Cole Simpson. The backfield looks to boast a compliment of seniors running the ball, but expect Vest to get the Panthers share with Bockting coming in for some change of pace. The offensive line is where the Panthers look to impose their will anchored by 3 year starting center Tristan White. Meanwhile the right side of the line brings some size and athleticism from RG Carson Crail and RT Dante Chavez. On the left side Senior Mason Pedigo is flanked by Jr T Tuell. There is a ton of depth for the Panthers at line with another 5 seniors. Senior Caleb Walden will take on the TE responsibilities. Most of these guys are 2 year starters with several being 3 year starters. We also expect to see senior Hayden Hibbs helping out with ball carrying responsibilities, Hibbs missed last season with an ACL injury but was looking very promising after finding his way onto the field as a sophomore later into the season. Let’s not forget Senior Jonathon Lynch playing DT. This dude will be a problem for every team Corydon plays. Just watch the tape. Junior class is a bit small, but there are several key contributors who will either start or get significant playing time. Koons, Houchens, Coverdale, and Tuell lead the way. I expect to see just a couple of sophomores get any real playing time, most notably, Easton Windell who is son of 4 year starting QB from the early/Mid 2000s Josh Windell and nephew to 2 NCAA D-3 All Americans, Lucas and Jeremiah Windell. Freshman Gavin Hanger will take on kicking responsibilities for the Panthers. The kid has D1 written all over him already hitting from 55 in practice.

6A needs Penn to be "back". Carroll, Crown Point and Merrillville are good, but the North needs a fourth team. I still have hopes for Homestead, but this is a make or break year for me. If they're average again, it will be hard to take them serious moving forward.

Yes that is why GS and Rochester couldn't play again this season. GS replacing with St. Pious Mo.

Bloomington South @ Lawrence Central South has scrimmaged LC just before the season opener for a number of years and here are some excerpts from it from the HTO. It focuses on South so how LC saw it is an unknown for me. "We scored five times, they scored three times on our 1s and three times on our 2s," South coach Gabe Johnson said. "We rotated quite a bit. I was happy with the front end of our stuff. We kept it pretty vanilla. We just wanted to see our guys get out there and play hard. "We saw some good and we saw some bad. The offense moved the ball well. Their team speed gave us some issues on the perimeter early, but we adjusted and settled in. They're big and strong and physical and we want that. We only got outside for an hour this week with the heat, then the lightning. We got in the gym, but we were limited in what we did." Individually, South's top players handled it well. Quarterback Duncan Combs and running back Hayden Clark had the time and space to perform. "Duncan and the O-line played really well," Johnson said. "The inside backers were solid. The receivers were pretty good blocking on the perimeter Hayden had almost 100 yards. The guys you expect played well. "Our O-line pushed their front a little bit. It's a new group for us, so that was important."

That is how I usually tend to describe myself, "sophisticated".

I will say, we seem to have a little more “sophisticated” group here. The FB groups seem to be this year’s dads, who’s background obviously don’t include sports of any kind.

Hell Yeah! I'm fully bought into that man. Everytime I hear time I here him speak, everytime I hear Caleb speak, everytime I hear players speak, you can just tell they think he's the real deal and they're fully bought into what he's teaching them. Caleb mentioned that before he left for the summer break that Ben asked him if he needed any help from Ben to be better. Caleb told him to don't stop pushing him. IMO, I thought George and Kevin looked weak and defeated. They pretty much had to say something as this is around the same time last year they gave a brief state of the org type of speech. Illinois has them by the balls and they'll settle for Hammond if forced to. Pritzker wants to make a run in '28 for the Democratic nod. Springfield Politicians from Chicago are supposedly pissed that the Bears are leaving for Arlington Heights. The Bears bluffed against politicians who are not going to give up state Tax Money without looking like they played hard ball. I like Warren, I believe those that say Ben Johnson was never coming to Chicago without Warren. Warren talked George into being a professional organization and giving Johnson the resources he wanted. I think George wants to win, but just didn't know how before Warren. George is a down to earth guy. Far from athletic. His dad just happened to marry the heirous to the Chicago Bears. He lives out in rural DeKalb and umpires youth baseball games. I think he even umped some when the Savannah Bananas played at Rate Field. IMO, I think Warren should have never mentioned repeatedly about wanting to put cranes in the sky and build on the lakefront. Between that whacky tree hugging group, Friends of the Park, who successfully blocked Lucas from building a museum on the lakefront, to the Bears not owning property, to their not really being a good spot to build a new lakefront stadium around Soldier Field, Arlington always made sense as option 1. Warren should have just came out from the beginning and said they can't build in the City for these reasons and they want to pay for their own stadium on land that they own. Either way it went they were going to negotiate property tax rates and need infrastructure improvements from tax dollars. Soldier Field is currently a logistical nightmare to get to. They were talking about having to complete reconstruct Lake Shore Drive and bridges in that area for a new stadium. All other sites mentioned in the City would need infrastructure improvements.
