  2. Heritage Hills (2-1) vs. Southridge (1-2) This Friday marks a historic milestone as Heritage Hills travels to Southridge for the 60th meeting between these two storied programs. HISTORY OF THE MATCHUP The Patriots lead the overall series 42-17. This matchup represents one of the deepest traditions in Indiana high school football. Southridge is one of just three teams from Heritage Hills' inaugural 1972 schedule that the Patriots have played every single season without interruption. The Matchup by Numbers The Patriots enter the game boasting a high-powered offense averaging nearly 47 points per game, backed by a defense allowing just two touchdowns a match. The Raiders look to defend their home turf and balance out their season, currently averaging 24.3 points per game while giving up 22.0. 3. These Other Schools are figuring what out ? You mention Penn's State losses , NP has made it to state 2 times in that time frame . They got 77 points hung on them in one of the games . Maybe you should be concerned with NP instead of Penn .
  4. Nice , had to throw the last couple sentences in there, didn't you? Look at it this way , the yearly butt kicking NP will take only makes them better.

  7. I’ll take this with a grain of salt. I was just generally and genuinely asking if Castle is better this season?

  11. The timezone argument is such a weak argument. You do realize the timezone splits the NP district right down the middle? I'd leave my house at 6am to get to the school at 5:15am for my 5:30am practice before school then after practices ended at 5:30pm I'd hop in the car and hopefully be home by 7pm. Every day, that's just how it is and you figure it out. I'm not suggesting Penn leave the NIC in everything. But they 100% need too in football. A South Bend school hasn't beat them since 1986 (including St. Joe) and Penn is currently on a 164 game win streak against any school that is named "South Bend XXXXXX"....Their current schedule is such a waste of time for everyone involved. Go independent in football. Keep a DAC school week 1, keep Mishawaka week 2, Elkhart will have an opening in their schedule so keep them. You have Cathedral who is Independent, etc. how hard is it to make a schedule that looks like: Valpo Mishawaka Elkhart Cathedral & Bloomington South are independent Dwenger, Homestead, Snider, Carroll, New Palestine, have 5 non-con openings Roncalli, Chatard, East Central have 6 non-con openings Hobart, Lowell, Andrean, all have a non-con opening you have Michigan schools, you have Ohio schools, you have Chicagoland schools These other schools are figuring it out, why can't Penn? Fact is Penn hasn't won state in 25 football seasons and in their 4 trips to Indy since then the scores have been 7-57, 0-54, 16-28, 14-63 against the big boys of Indy. What does Penn have to lose?
  12. As far as our enrollment/clientele is concerned - you don't wish you had any of the Dubois County industry. Sure- we're a 3A school by numbers, but playing with a borderline 1A/2A population to pull from. Trust me, it is just not even comparable...but it is the reality.
  13. Sooooooo much drama and time wasted on legal proceedings and add the end of the day, Lane gets called on the carpet to be told not to add them. Timing is everything, right? So just 2 days before the rest of the conference meets to discuss expelling LSU, they lock in the roster and lock out the NFL players. My favorite comment….can we still kick them out? lol

  16. In another discussion, this thought came to me. Prior to the last play, the clock showed 8 seconds. The official announced the clock needed to be reset to 9 seconds. The spike play before that had 11 seconds. I thought I heard there is a 2 second run off. So the clock operator let another second run off. So when the official announced the reset to 9 seconds, wouldn’t that have reset the clock the B1G referred to back to 9 seconds as well? Maybe we should go back to before the snap to see if the B1G clock was slow to start at the snap? Because the TV/stadium clock started with it. Or are we being to.d that even with the 9 second reset, the clocks were not in sync?
  17. Our Jr. High team got to go to Castle South Middle School and play their 7th grade. I heard it was a pretty good game but North Daviess lost 8-14.

  19. The only Zionsville score was due to a Westfield defensive play. Up 14-0, Rocks defense forces a fumble. However the ball bounces to a Zionsville offensive player, who scoops and scores. That was it for Z'Ville in that game :)

  22. I heard that there were a LOT of penalties on both teams.
  23. I thought the uniforms were OK, except I am not a fan of player names on the back of the jersey. At Notre Dame, by tradition, the names only go on in the post season.
  24. Pick'em Selections. BNL @ New Albany BNL should handle the Bulldogs with ease, although I thought the Stars would beat Jeff with ease, which turned out to be a lot closer game than what I expected. After beating a Providence team in the season opener with Providence now at 0-3, the Bulldogs have been outscored 96-0 in their last two games. 'nough said. Floyd Central @ Seymour The Owls are atrocious right now and this game will probably be over with by halftime, with the possibility of a running clock to start the second half. Jennings County @ Columbus East This game has the potential for a blowout. JC is 2-1, but their two wins came against a couple of 2A teams that are currently a combined 1-5 on the season. Their lone loss was to Madison in which they never were in the game, suffering a 42-6 loss. Kokomo @ Jeffersonville Okay, in my mind this is the only competitive game on the schedule this week and it looks to be a difficult choice to make as to who will come out on top. Kokomo is 0-3 right now with two of their losses to a couple of 5A teams by a combined margin of 16 points. Their other loss wasn't a close game. Jeffersonville has shown some pulse on offense and managed to put up 35 points on BNL. Kokomo has to make the almost 170 mile trip to Jeffersonville which could impact their performance, ergo, I'm going with the home team in this one.
  25. What I was reminded of from seeing the uniforms both ND and Wisconsin were wearing:
