  5. I'd agree. Not every coach/ program is handling the recruiting of their student-athletes the same/ the way that they SHOULD be handling the recruiting of their student-athletes (sad but true). Parents value schools/ programs/ coaches that give their kids the opportunities to achieve their dreams and if that's an athletic scholarship then parents are going to want to be in a situation where they feel their child is being taken care of and guided in that direction. I think allowing a one-time "free" change allows parents that chance to remove themselves and their child from a situation that isn't what they signed up for and isn't providing them the service(s) they believed they would receive. Similar to coaches who go in a different direction after 1-3 years because a school is not holding up their end of the bargain.

  11. As his good friend Herm Edwards would say, "You play to win the game!"
  12. One aspect that often gets missed in this overall discussion is the impact that the state legislature has on decisions like these. Constant pressure on the IHSAA to make changes to its policies (or not realizing the IHSAA already has a policy) play a large roll. There are very few "education based" legislators, so many are blind to any other problems that may spring up from what they might see as a good idea or policy to implement. As for the "study" part, that will be interesting to see how it is done and what data is actually being studied.
  13. Again - Anyone that can actually believe the current President (legally) received more votes than any other President in the history of the United States given the numerous states prosecutions and convictions for election misdeeds in the last election by blue states finally coming to light last year and this year needs to have their head examined. SMH
  14. Not in the last decade, and I don’t know about the “best QB,” but I saw Warren’s Desmond Tardy put a 300 yd. rushing game on Penn in the 2003 5A championship game. Thought I’d never see a QB performance like that again. And I didn’t … for almost 3 yrs. Then came the 2006 Regional at New Prairie. The absolute worst field conditions I’ve ever seen — and I once lost a shoe in the mud at a college game. Torrents of freezing rain, and then the temperature dropped 20 degrees, creating a bog with frozen ruts. Could barely stand upright on the field, except for one guy. The Norwell QB — a guy named Chandler Harnish — dominated the field that night. I have no idea how many yards rushing he had, or how many TDs, but Norwell won 49-20. How he did it on that field, I’ll never know. We checked his cleats — twice. Never saw anything like it before or since.
  15. Oh..."education-based athletics" isn't just abandoned....it's LONG abandoned based on everything I've seen here so far. It truly amazes me how little folks here seem to so willingly walk away from this. Sorry. Count me as being opposed and thinking community and commitment (religious or geographic) actually means something... In the end, it really rarely matters just what HS some extraordinary football players went to that ultimately determined whether they played D1....or made it to the pros. The HS didn't mean anything. Talent RISES. More often than not, I read about some kid who played on a team that never made it out of Sectionals that ends up with a Super Bowl Ring and I'm AMAZED....just how could this crappy HS football program end up with a SUPERBOWL player?!?!? Happens all the time. Whatever you folks think, the cream most always rises. Transferring all over the d@mn place might get you (and your HS) a State Ring BUT it doesn't matter a single bit about whether great athletes get College opportunities..... In the end, all this transfer BS is about potential State Rings. I just wish fans, parents and players would be honest and admit it.
  16. Homer picks from personal experience only Jake Kiger: Rensselaer Central 2005, 3rd in Mr. Football Daniel Wodika: West Lafayette, 2009 (I think) Mr. Football
  17. Always been our forever home !!!! See you in a few weeks Excited to back home in 2a North, 219 Sectional !!! My Brothers!!! Literally been with HOF Coach Meeks from his 1st game in 1999 when he called a timeout and threw the kicking block back to the sidelines to WIN THE GAME with the 2 pt conversion for Victory with a Chris Yenna Belly if Im not mistaken. Film guy then, paid staff when student taught in 2003, OC in 2024 and counting......... Wouldn't have it another way. Goes for our DC as well, and Varsity Assistant in Coach Stevens, heck he was on staff my SR in 1997!! I've been known to deliver
  18. Lovie's final gift to Chicago Bears, classy as always Lovie !!!
  19. Dude, there is an entire backstory on Clacks that could take up this entire thread. It didn’t work out so well for him. Feel bad for him though. Henry struggled in big games all year and Ballentine was bad on recovery and honestly was underwhelming his entire senior year not all his fault but a lot was. He could never read rpo’s his entire career. Once Drayk was hobbled and MD shutdown run, pressure placed on QB’s and neither performed. On that day, the better team won. If healthy, maybe different outcome.
  20. Yesterday
  21. Not seeing the FUNNY posted dude.. and I'd prefer to be addressed as Cinque
  22. Glad you brought that to the table. Thanks for the update Bash. This Irish team is expecting a national championship. A nine win season would be a colossal fail.
  23. Yankees - The Northern Caucasians
  24. Part of the reason Clacks left was because of the coaching during that game…lol. Strep throat or not they should have fed the ball to him more, he’d say the same. Ballentine did look bad in garbage time coming back, but then why go to him halfway through the biggest game of the year. Because they panicked and didn’t know what to do. If you don’t trust Henry, why are you giving him the option to throw with an rpo backed up in your own red zone with a minute left in the half? The current coaching staff has had a mound of excuses made for them every time they’ve lost in the postseason. It was a bad loss and overall a pretty embarrassing display, we don’t have to baby them.
