The Big Game Sunday has many interesting story lines. But I’m always interested in what people are chowing down on, to match the excess that is [usually] the Super Bowl. I’ll be brining, then smoking, about 10# of wings, finishing under the broiler to crisp them up. Two homemade sauces: sweet Thai chili and a raspberry habanero that will get - and keep - your attention. Augmented by a nice, chunky blue cheese dipping sauce.
I am not sure about head/assistant coaches in football (maybe Jeanette Gray is still coaching), but there was a female assistant for the Tri-County Men's hoops team today.
I have worked w/ a few female officials in basketball (both men and women games). One of them has STAR written all over her. She is one of the best officials out there. I have also worked w/ 1 female official in football.
Why?
Wagner did conditioning, and he inspired me as a coach and a player.
He had this drill where we would jump over yard markers, and at first I wasn't fast enough for him. That enraged me so much I purchased a yard marker and did the drill independently in my back yard until I was fast enough to beat the other linemen in the drill.
When I coached, I did a modified version of the drill- we used tackling dummies instead, and I did it with my players.
When Adams County starts the one and only High School Wrestling Weekly radio show & podcast, that tells you where basketball falls. Especially when covering wrestling on the local radio is a priority and then they fit in the basketball games around the matches. Guess that's what happens when you have a historically powerful Bellmont wrestling program and then a decent in single class but stalwart in the new classed wrestling system in Adams Central, and South Adams making some appearances in the new classed system.
I contend that was more a matter of the timing of the initial pandemic outbreak, and the fear and uncertainty concerning the transmission of the virus that drove the decisions being made at the time.
I have a frozen Malnati's pizza in the freezer, since there is no restaurant nearby. I will throw that in the oven. I'd be in heaven if I had some of their bruschetta for a warm up.
A woman walks into a bar carrying her pet duck. She sits down at the bar and orders a glass of wine, and a beer for the duck. The bartender says “We don’t serve pigs in here.” The woman says “You idiot. That’s a duck.” The bartender says, “ I was talking to the duck.”
