Leanard was very poignant in post game like always, hard not to root for kid like that, but yes, he said not sure why he here on the mic with the gal post game on field, before the stage, gave lots of love to Angelli Penn St, tough situation, you want to try to get one big play to get back into business, I contend, if they didn't pop that decent run to start the drive, they probably don't attempt to throw late over the middle there and have that major WHOOOPSIE I continue to be a huge fan of Coach Freeman, fell in love with him at Purdue when I was just getting going in this coaching gig at spring practice/clinic. SUPERSTAR. ( Bears please say hello ) To a player and Coach Freeman, loss week 2 galvanized this team, they are not in this same spot if thier 1 loss was to like USC or Texas AM or even Florida State to a certain extent. Coach Freeman was excellent on stage talking about that or maybe it was the on field afterwards.. When adversity hits, is when you see true growth , summarized.... Happy for my ND pals, can't say I am going to be actively ROOTING for them, but I can tip hat in respect for how htey are winning game.s4 points

No way he can. Without him, they don’t win. I firmly believe that. Guy never quit and packed up. Worked and came through when his team needed him. Hope a lot of kids saw that and their dads emphasized the importance of this moment. What an absolute atrocious DPI call on Kiser’s interception.3 points

That may have been on of the best team victories this old man has ever seen. RL just put it best that a lot of players had a huge hand in getting to Atlanta.2 points

I am sure Ohio State will be favored but I think Notre Dame matches up very well with them.1 point

He was one to make, what seemed to be, off the wall atatements, until you thought about what he said for a minute or two.1 point

One of the worst big-moment officiating decisions I can think of in recent memory. Not even sure who made the call. Can't see a flag on either angle from the tv copy. It felt very much like a call made based on the outcome of the play. Way under thrown ball, receiver jumps early and away from the ball.1 point

The opening stop and drive by Ohio State in the opening series made it look like this was going to be a route. Ewers looked really bad early and seems to have settled down. I think a couple good hits on his running plays may have helped. He has had a couple really nice throws but has a few really bad ones too. He is playing better than Howard though. Both QB's have kept this game close. And of course as I am typing this, OSU scores on a screen and catches the Texas defense way out of position. Could be a critical play in the game for OSU as they had that score at the end of the half and receiving the opening kick of the 2nd half.1 point

Your explanation that a coach was a teacher in the district? I understood that and did not ask for clarification. It ended up with 3 State Championships for the school and numerous victories and accomplishments for the football team and their Hall of Fame Coach. Otherwise, Sheridan may have ended up with a teacher just looking for some extra pay as a football coach.1 point

North Sides coach is in the building as an administrative assistant, an hourly role. I believe South Side's HC is in a similar role there, not for certain on that one though. Northrop's is in the tech department for FWCS, so not technically in the school. FWCS used to have the same rule, that administrators can't be head coaches, but Northrops Head Girl's Basketball Coach is an assistant principal in the school, so not sure where that rule stands now.1 point

I think my comment is pretty self-explanatory, but if you need further explanation......... Sheridan may not have had 4 State Championship appearances, 3 State Championships and 7 Semi-State appearances with a different head coach who "was in the building" during that 20 years.1 point

Seems to always go to the quarterback. Oh well, Leonard has a lot of heart. But so does Angeli. I really hope the coaching staff gives the kids they have to lead this team this year.1 point

Mr. January. I hope he’s got a big kick left in him. … And I hope it’s that close in the Natty.1 point

He did very well and not trying to take anything away from him, but your above assessment was absolutely correct. Why not Angeli (as discussed above) or Love? Oh well. On to the NATTY!1 point

Aware, but not gonna be on my team. Ways to get rid of them very easily. Don’t care how good they are.1 point

That's my bad. I was looking at football. I didn't realize he coached basketball. Thanks for the help!1 point

My one wish would be to lengthen the overtime yardage to at least 15 yards to enable a team to get a first down.1 point
