  1. I'll ask my buddy about that. He has expressed already that the rb room is talented with the incoming sophmore looking to be one of the best they've had in awhile. I was quick to remind him as well as others before we go comparing them to that 04 class, let us remember the starter ran a 4.4 and 4 other kids ran sub 11 100m dashes while the 2nd leading rusher was none of them. They will have their chances though.

  2. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2025/07/28/ihsaa-football-high-school-quarterbacks-to-watch-in-southwest-indiana-evansville/85275446007/ Good article from @kylesokeland in today’s Courier. Mentions most of the SIAC QB’s. A lot of good talent in the conference.

  5. Todd Wagner would be my bet. Former business partner of Mark Cuban and IU alum...worth several billion dollars. Has already contributed immensely to IU's NIL collective.

  6. Yep, injuries to key players and not having comparable back-ups is what ended up getting us behind the 8 ball in 2021 and 2022 when we were fairly closely matched. In 2023 EC was just tremendous and we didn't have the horses to really compete. I like your guys' chances this year.

  7. I agree....I think. I was speaking more to numbers on the roster and players having to play both ways. Pending big injuries I think you are right. What you have said we have all said but as always, got to stay healthy.

  8. What a stellar career. HOF induction was well earned....he was fun to watch play the game, and is such a class act on and off the field.

  9. Yeah, I forgot IU beat Michigan in 2020. As far as QB’s go, no reason that Michigan shouldn’t have a 5 star recruit every year at QB. Not buying that excuse for a second. I would say that Mendoza has a chance to be a top 3 QB in the Big 10 this year.

  10. Pizza King here in Indiana is the clear winner! But I have to mortgage my home each time I get it, to afford that damned Royal Feast. It reminds me so much of Talylana's back in Saint Louis. Same as with the double crust deep dish pizza here in FW at Oley's on US 24.... Gonna get this ABSOLUTELY, this week then look at my bank account, the next day. 😗

  11. It is apparent that this is a very polarizing topic with parties on both sides not willing to come to any alignment or agreement. After reading all of these responses, no one has actually answered the original question which is “Will Vouchers affect the football landscape in Indiana?” Indiana has had vouchers of some form since 2011 and my viewpoint is that it has had very little impact on the football landscape. I’m basing this solely on the State tournament results and without any hard data just perception. I think the Success Factor has had more of an impact than vouchers. Transfer Portal is the new variable that may or may not affect the landscape. TP and enhanced voucher program might change it but it will be hard two separate the two changes independently. In my opinion, vouchers alone won’t change it because it really hasn’t in 14 years.

  12. Wow...that is an interesting perspective. Didn't even consider the Patriots would have only 38 guys on their varsiy roster. I couldn't imagine playing OL and DL the entire game. That has to be tough. Having Ruxer at TE and Goldsberry at QB will definately help. They are rated #1 and #3 in the State for 247's composite rankings. For the record, anyone in Indiana who claims to be a HS football fan that hasn't heard of Heritage Hills is just a casual. Concord lost their speedster RB to Purdue. I'm not sure they're returning anything that would indicate they're a Top 25 team.

  13. Not true. A long tradition down there. I just don’t think a public 3A school could hang with the 5A/6A big boys on this list. And I mean that as respectfully as possible. Now, admittedly as someone who has compiled rankings in the past, you eventually have to reward teams for winning games, and I have put them ahead of many of these same programs because I thought they were deserving, but I don’t necessarily think they would beat them head-to-head. A 9-0 HH squad deserves to be ranked ahead of a 5-4 HCC/MIC team in most cases, even though I don’t think they’d match up very well. Just my opinion.
