THIS. They want you off the field and out of the locker room as quickly as possible. The kids just played the biggest game of their lives... and they don't get to meet with family/friends... That's the worst part of the whole finals experience. I understand that there are more games after (unless you are 5A or 6A) but the experience is as inpersonal as it gets. The best part of Friday nights is the family/community support and though you get that from the stands, you don't get to meet with family/community post-game.

I imagine every school playing this weekend has a similar plan, and any celebration would occur win or lose. Seems hard to pull something like this off without prior planning, especially with their designated location being somewhere other than the school. That said, I'd be planning for a long, quiet bus ride back to The Fort for Dwenger.

Both Penn and Carroll return very good QB's that should be near the top of 6A talent wise . The Carroll QB is a better runner of the two .

You didn't miss much. A few highlights that you missed: Head to the Next Level for some excellent banter between @temptation and @Bash Riprock. Some great conversation after Carroll "outhit" Center Grove. Good build up to the 6A North semi-state game. Indy burbs tied the four year score at two apiece. So the offseason will be fun discussing the rubber match.

@Rodney I just can't Rodney. I was just bluffing when I threw that threat at @temptation. That's a lot of work considering there's only three teams up north that are in the conversation. If Homestead would amp it up, that would give us four. Thought maybe Elkhart would be five, but that program isn't what I thought it would be after the consolidation and the new coach. As much as I wanted to "impress" @First_Backer_Inside, I don't have it in me to do this until next August.

Not really. Because of the aforementioned issues with players not being able to meet with their parents until they leave the stadium, a lot of teams will have a celebration win or lose, just so the families can spend some time together after the game. Obviously, it's a lot more muted if it's a loss, but a State Finals appearance is worth celebrating.

Shame on the IHSAA for not allowing parents and families of players somewhere to interact post game. I can’t speak to Andrean, Merrillville, Dwenger, etc. fans, but when Evansville schools play at Lucas - there is plenty of extended family, friends, from out of town. Some even live in the Indianapolis area. “Congrats on the great season Johnny. But your older sister/brother and aunt who live in Carmel won’t get to see you after the game. They at least get to watch in person for the first time, but they’re not driving back 2.5 hours to see you at the school gym afterwards.”

I only saw the comment though Temp's post. I put that clown on ignore. He's just trying to push buttons. Would love to see Carroll vs New Pal, but would never happen. Carroll is the 19th largest school in the state, hence the stupid 5A comment. Don't take the bait.

Yes as Carroll let the game go through their hands as did Penn in the Carroll game. However, Carroll was hitting big plays on O and D left and right during that game.

My comment about Heritage Hills not opening the playbook. I never saw HH run much true option like they did in previous years. That's what I was expecting to come out eventually. Obviously injuries were a factor. I don't know if Winchell is expected to be QB next year, but a more prominent option game would make sense. I digress. Great season Patriots!

South Putnam has beaten a big physical Riverton Parke team, Sheridan and Milan all running some form of Wing t, Single wing, or flexbone type offenses. They should be prepared for Pioneers offense. That isnt to say pioneer might not be the best at running the offense. Should be a great game but got to go with the Eagles in this one. The Eagles have a combination of speed and size that is not common at the 1a level. I have seen most of thier games on film and even against the likes of North View they didnt look under sized. The scariest part of it is the roster is loaded with Jrs so if they happen to lose I'd look for them to be back at Lucas Oil next year as well.

The HH fans and GS fans are more predominant on this board anymore (not a bad thing), but with both of them losing there isn't much chatter. I think the teams in the finals, there aren't a ton of posters on here from those teams. There are some from Luers, a few from Pioneer, but not many from the other schools playing... Probably why it's unusually quiet.
