  1. Have you ever watched a game film of the HCC... The line play is extremely good, and except for this past year, the defenses in the conference are very good. How can you say the HCC is soft... you can't stop those ground games with soft players......

  2. I know 2 of our 3 state streeters are football players for Adams Central. Alex Currie and Blake Heyerly excel in both sports and are joined this weekend by fellow Baguba Logan Uhlman. Best of luck to our Flying Jets/BAGUBAS! Please list your representation to acknowledge their hard work paying off!

  7. This isn't new.....(from 2012) https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2012/12/04/college-basketball-transgender-player-gabrielle-ludwig-robert-ludwig-mission-college/1744703/ ′′ She ′′ is called Gabrielle Ludwig. Biologically a man, born Robert John Ludwig, who after 2 failed marriages, had a son, this ex-Navy soldier declared himself a woman in his 40 s. At 50 years old, measuring two meters tall (6 feet and 8 inches), weighing 220 pounds and covered in naval tattoos, Gabrielle Ludwig caused a huge feeling when she made her college basketball debut for Santa Clara, California community college: but not playing in the men's league, but in the women's league.

  8. I used to track these changes in conference schedules for the SIAC, Big 8 & PAC but haven't in the last several years as it takes up a lot of time. In 1992, the SIAC switched to having the rivalry games in the last week of the regular season. The schedules pretty much stayed the same and they used to rotate weeks 3-6 (week 3 would become week 4, 4->5, 5->6, 6->3) for a while. With the addition of Jasper & Vincennes, they pretty much had to blow the schedule up, but did keep the rivalry weeks intact. Back in the day, the city schools would rotate who played on Thanksgiving. (Here's an article from 2007 I wrote that lists the Turkey Day games and you can see how they rotated). Putting schedules together is not an easy task, especially with balancing home games, teams dropping out and joining, rivalry games, etc. Definitely following this conversation. It's always been interesting to me and glad to know there are others too 🙂

  9. After cancelling the series almost a decade ago, the Southsiders finally found their mojo and nutted up! Welcome back to the big leagues, Rebels (errrrr Royals). February 18, 2021 CATHEDRAL AND RONCALLI TO RESUME FOOTBALL RIVALRY Joint release from Cathedral and Roncalli High Schools Roncalli and Cathedral High Schools announced today that the two schools will resume their football rivalry in the fall of 2023. Roncalli will host the first matchup on October 6, 2023, with Cathedral serving as the host school the following season. Existing contracts with current opponents prevent the schools from playing prior to 2023.

  10. As an official who schedules games 4-5 years in advance and then loses games regularly because conferences realign or change schedules I can tell you this happens often. Some years we've lost 3-4 games. Each year there is at least 1 game changed/cancelled.
