Ok, so 1,000, 900, 800 kids.....does not change the point.

The flaw of the enrollment only classification is there is no accounting for differences in population. While the target may be the private schools, the fact is the 1200 students in one of those buildings is nothing like the 1200 students in a public school.

I don't have a clue. Maybe Tippecanoe Valley didn't want to travel that far. 2 of the 3 games they scheduled with Hoosier Conference opponents are Home games. South Bend Washington was obviously willing to travel.

All I'm saying is that whatever problems exist with current NIC schools....those problems are not the current NLC schools' to solve. At no point am I "mad" about anything. I'm just trying to point out the reality of how these decisions are made, and all of these schools should be welcome to make the best decisions for their own student athletes. Sometimes those best interests are common to other schools...sometimes they aren't.

And just when you think that … sh*t happens.

Think: holding by the offense in pass protection.

On the targeting call I've had several veteran college officials disagree on whether the contact was initiated with the crown or not. And they are all watching the same video. It's amazing how we can all watch the same thing and see different things. That's why even replay is not perfect.

So, if you’re the R, you go to the wing official who signaled the TD, and say “ I know who had the ball. Who TF do you think had the ball.?”

I am passionate about this. The reason: As an official you have to make a real effort to not know this rule interpretation, since it’s been out there for years and years. So, one lazy crew let’s someone get away with it, and then every crew the rest of the season that tells the coach he can’t do it suffers as a result. Same thing with sideline management. A few bad crews spoil it for the rest of us. i might add, this is the type of thing that shows the unfairness and downright irrationality of the coaches’ vote system.

Get rid of the success factor. class sports was created to give more teams and smaller schools opportunity at post-season success. Success factor was then implemented to slow private school domination. Has that happened? Idk Tweaking the system should end. Class sports is enough. Stop punishing kids who had little(or nothing) to do with said school’s success
