  1. Football in Northeast Indiana is alive and well. Looking forward to seeing out 2023 plays out. The following are some of the bigger topics this summer heading toward a new season. 1. Eastside has some huge shoes to fill with the loss of Todd Mason. He built a machine up there in Butler. Expectations will be pretty high for the new guy. The fans up there are used to winning. 2. East Noble starts the season off with a bang as they go head to head with the SAC. Bishop Luers in 2A and Snider in 5A. Two great pickups for a Knight's program that has tasted a high level of success over the past decade. I love the "go big or go home" approach when it comes to scheduling. 3. Carroll set a new bar for their program in 2022. They have the resources to become Northern Indiana's premier program. With half their team returning from last years state runners up and a rising star at quarterback, look for more of the same from the Chargers in 2023. Speaking of "go big or go home," no team north of Indy suburbia boasts a more impressive schedule than Carroll. Six teams have the potential to take them out.............. Hamilton Southeastern, Warren Central, Dwenger, Snider, Homestead, and North Side. 4. How good will Concordia be in Tim Mannigel's second season back at the helm? Are they back to being a contender in 3A and a thorn in the side of their SAC foes? History tells us that his teams are a coin toss when they play Luers and a formidable challenge for the big schools of the conference. 5. I can't imagine anyone's expecting much out of Blackhawk Christian in their inaugural season for 11 man football. But we all know how these private schools can come onto the scene and quickly make an impact. I think it will take three or four years. By 2026, I think they'll be serious contenders in 1A. 6. Snider and North Side have their hands full in 5A this year. Not playing one another in the regular season will make their sectional game a highly anticipated one. The winner, given they get by Dwenger and Mishawaka, get to square up against Valpo and their NINETEEN returning starters. That's not a typo. 7. Dwenger and Homestead have fallen back to a severe case of mediocrity over the past two seasons. I'd be surprised if either one makes it three seasons in a row. Both have a good core of guys returning to stay among the elite of the SAC. But let's be honest here, does finishing in the 4 or 5 spot in the SAC make you average? Hardly. Both teams better be ready though, because they open with Brownsburg and Carmel to start the season. They'll quickly find out if they are among the states elite or if they have some serious work to do. 8. Who wins the battle of Adams County this year? South Adams is knocking on the door, but Adams Central is always the safe bet. I'll say it again and I hope it comes to fruition. Both teams need to tap into the SAC's open conference by going after Luers, South Side, Concordia, and Wayne. 9. Warsaw doesn't have a single 6A team on their schedule this year. That could mean trouble once the tournament gets here. Playing top notch competition in the regular season isn't the end all be all (see Penn in the 90's), but having some good teams on your schedule definitely prepares you. Mishawaka and Northwood are formidable foes, but not enough to prepare them for Carroll or Homestead. 10. How about two Northeast 8 programs I haven't mentioned yet? Was Columbia City a one time wonder last year? Are 10 win seasons the new norm for Josh Gerber's Norwell Knights?

  2. Definitely curious to see how Eastside & Norwell do this season. We all know Blackhawk Christian has the ability to become a 1A force like they have in basketball (now 2A hoops force). As for the ACAC, the league is getting more competitive each season. AC will be a favorite this year, but need to reload in some key positions. They have talent again this season and just need to avoid injuries. South Adams will have to find consistent line play on both sides. They always have great skill guys each year. Just imagine if AC & SA combined teams, that would be fun to watch. Let's not forget Heritage finished near the top beating SA last year and have steadily improved. Bluffton is coming off a sectional championship as well. Will they continue the trend? Their youth program has been solid the past couple years. Will this be the year Jay County begins to get in the mix as well? To finish Adams & Wells Counties, will Bellmont pick up more wins with a talented sophomore group? Will Southern Wells make a step to getting back to being competitive? The ACAC has not been the same since they've fallen on hard times. Here is to a successful season for NE/EC Indiana teams, and hopefully we have more state appearances & maybe some champions!

  3. The weaponization of DOJ. Does anyone think that if Trump had announced a year ago he wasn’t going to run again that this would be happening? Even after his term — in which he won the title of “Most Divisive President Ever” — is over, he continues to be an incredibly divisive force. He should just go away. The country would be better off.

  4. "I had zero intention of trying to be vulgar or be profane in any way. I was simply living my joy and my truth and existing in my body," she said. So he/she thinks nudity on the White House lawn is OK......And also thinks popping his/her tits out in public is nothing wrong....... I get that a large percentage of the LGBTQ population just want to live their lives under the radar and I fully support them, but when you have the over-flamers like this person really pushing the envelope all the time and calling anyone who questions their public behavior a homo-hater, it's really tough to be a supporter. Thankfully the WH Staff had the sense to ban this dude/chick for their inappropriate behavior...... https://au.news.yahoo.com/topless-photo-at-white-house-sparks-uproar-as-trans-model-banned-224125365.html A model and social media influencer has reportedly been banned from the White House in the US after posting a video online which shows her posing topless moments after meeting President Joe Biden. Rose Montoya, a trans model and activist, was among many who were invited to a Pride Party on the South Lawn on Saturday (local time) where the president gave a speech to mark Pride month. However her actions during the gathering have subsequently been slammed as "inappropriate and disrespectful" by the White House. Following the event, the 27-year-old posted a video to Instagram that included her meeting with the president and First Lady Jill Biden. "It is an honour. Trans rights are human rights," she said posing alongside the US leader. Trans model Rose Montoya banned from White House after flashing her breasts. Source: Instagram The video then flashes to the influencer dancing in front of the iconic white building with two shirtless men as she cupped her bare breasts with her hands, covering her nipples as she danced. The controversial move caught the attention of White House officials, NBC News reports, after heated backlash online. White house slams 'disrespectful' act In a statement overnight, a White House spokesperson told the US news channel that Montoya and the other people featured in her video would be banned from future events organised at the White House. "This behaviour is inappropriate and disrespectful for any event at the White House. It is not reflective of the event we hosted to celebrate LGBTQI+ families or the other hundreds of guests who were in attendance," the spokesperson said. "Individuals in the video will not be invited to future events." Model defends act of nudity Montoya has since responded to the backlash and defended her display of nudity in another post on Instagram. She said flashing her breasts "is perfectly within the law of Washington, D.C". While technically true, the White House is considered federal land where local D.C. laws do not universally apply. "I had zero intention of trying to be vulgar or be profane in any way. I was simply living my joy and my truth and existing in my body," she said.

  5. He won't be convicted. If he is, then the former Vice President, who had classified documents as well (even though a Vice President had ZERO authority over documents) from the Obama administration will need to be prosecuted, but worse. Not to mention the Hillary Clinton crap that was proven "illegal", but she didn't intend to do wrong....... This is a long-term distraction since there is nearly zero coverage of the Biden Ukraine bribery tapes........ https://www.foxnews.com/media/abc-cbs-nbc-newscasts-ignore-alleged-biden-bribery-scheme-spend-hours-trump-report

  6. Calling someone a baby is racist now??? What is your evidence that Center Grove is a “school full of racism”, and that there has been “repeated racist attacks”? What a joke! Apparently CG is only racist in certain sports since Carmel continues to play CG in the sports they haven’t been getting beaten regularly in. Your argument proves there is no argument for not playing CG! Except maybe they’re tired of losing…

  7. Not to hijack this thread - but the title of it reminded me that we are almost to my "favorite" (SARCASM) part of the football season - the PLAY TO THUD/QUICK WHISTLE portion of the summer with these 11X11 scrimmages or whatever you want to call them Some annoyances to try and avoid for you new coaches - or advice for coaches that just don't get it: 1. This is NOT the Super Bowl 2. Your actions (Coaches) a lot of times will "fuel" the problems that will arise in the scrimmage. (Hooting/hollering, chest-bumping, etc...) 3. Football is already a combative and emotional sport, don't egg it on by inappropriate actions - AND, if you have a player taking it over the edge, remove him/her until they understand no trophies are handed out in June/July 4. As you can probably tell, I DESPISE these things cause I don't really think football can be played at THUD level...someone (either an RB lowering his shoulder) or a safety running full speed downhill will start it...then the next play someone else has to get it back, and on and on. - That said, I know they are not going away - so here is to hoping everyone stays healthy and understands the purpose of these things.
