  2. I know what I said last time BUT I say a lot if things haha no in all seriousness I think tonight is a massive turning point in the tenure of Mike Woodson one way or the other...… reality regardless of what people say about the conference this year, a win tonight puts Woodson 4-1 vs the Boilers (and a dumb Xavier Johnson half court shot with 8 secs left away from being 5-0) and his arguably least talented roster in sole possession of 2nd place in the Big Ten. Lose tonight and ? 3-2 vs Purdue will be 3-3 by the end of the season and jammed in the middle somewhere with 0 quad 1 wins in late Jan and NET ranking that could slip into the 100s OUCH. I like Coach and want him to succeed but I feel like his ego is a little exhausting something I didn't realize he had (but then again anyone willing to coach the NY Knicks has to have an ego tbh) . In the coaches show last night he decided he wanted to play the martyr by saying " I Love the fans at Indiana, and I hope they love me too." fair enough BUT less than 24 hours earlier he gets crappy with reporters when asked about his rotations? Come on Coach look you fired your best assistant coach because you didn't like people talking about him as the next HC an him questioning your methods. You've been back to the tourney but absolutely embarrassed in 2 losses and constructed a roster of guards in the age of NIL that would ride the bench at any other power 5 school. Answer the tough questions you haven't earned that right yet. He's finding out the hard way IU fans don't really care how many points you scored in an IU uniform in the late 70s and early 80s. For better or for worse I think we could look back on tonight as that pivotal moment FWIW Archie's - Home loss to Purdue in Coach Knights return should have fired in in the locker room ! Crean's - Don't think he had anyone one moment really, extreme disappointment of 2013 coupled with the inconsistency of missing the tourney all together after Big Ten title seasons

  3. From the Perry Central FB page 1/16/2024 - PRESS RELEASE: Brennan Malone was named head football coach at Perry Central’s school board meeting on January 15th. Malone has been teaching math and coaching at Perry Central for the last six years. He shared that his love for coaching football started when he was just a kid watching his dad coach. As Malone grew up, he had great coaches who continued to inspire him, including his high school football coach, Ryan George. Malone also credits his wife, Payton, for encouraging him to pursue teaching and coaching at Perry Central. He shared, “She’s always been my number one supporter. I am forever grateful for ALL the opportunities this community and school have provided me. It truly is home to me, and I feel like I’ve been a Commodore my whole life. That is directly attributed to the family atmosphere everyone in this community provides.” Malone’s coaching philosophy centers around cultivating relationships and establishing a culture of pride. He is prepared for the challenges that sometimes accompany change, and plans to work through it by focusing on building a strong foundation of trust among the players. He shared, “We’ve already worked to develop a ‘culture playbook’ of sorts where we have created a list of core values. Those values are Passion, Resilience, Intensity, Discipline, and Earning Everything. What we don’t want is for these to become just words on a wall. We truly want to live these values and continuously have conversations about what they mean to our program, and to the community as a whole.” When asked about goals for the upcoming season, Malone stated that he wanted to start by building excitement around the program. “We want these guys to look forward to coming to football every day. We want the community to look forward to attending games on Friday nights.” Malone followed up by saying, “Obviously everyone’s goal is to win games, and I’ll never discount that, but another goal we have is for our guys’ off-the-field character and success to be developed just as much as the on-the-field character and success. Coach Gibson has done an incredible job laying the foundation for that to take place, and we look forward to continuing that for years to come.”

  4. I agree with everything you said. I heard in the radio this morning they were playing, and I really feel like this is a must win for IU. Then I immediately realized that if IU is playing tonight, my wife will be watching that and I can get back to my Justified binge. No clue what happens to IU, but it’s a win/win for me.

  5. Goshen was the only school to not field a true freshman team last year.

  7. While I felt the Packers would play well, I did not expect this either. With names like Bellichick and Vrabel out there and available, I am guessing this did McCarthy in. Losing in a close, hard fought game, he is likely safe. But being crushed the way they were......no way he survives. I think it also hurts Quinn's chances, or at least causes some hesitation. I too cannot wait for Stephen A's take in the morning.

  8. Whoa! Did not see that one coming. Two observations: The Love kid can really play. Looks like the Packers hit the QB lottery … again. There has to be a scapegoat in Dallas. Dan Quinn, the DC was thought to be bulletproof and headed to a HC job somewhere. Is this the year Jerry decides that Mike McCarthy has taken them as far as he can, and they need someone else to get them the rest of the way? Do not miss Steven A. Smith’s inevitable rant about the Cowboys on First Take tomorrow morning.

  9. You've got to admire a guy who is willing to accept a challenge like that. The $10+ million a year probably doesn’t hurt, either. Washington will always be a red-headed stepchild in the B1G. Now he’s at the marquee school in the marquee conference. Guy’s definitely got some big ones!
