  1. Yes, it's sarcasm. I realize there are some risk of long-term health issues at the college and especially at the PRO level. However, I do not know anyone that had health issues later in life because they played HS football.
  2. I'd like to say something, but it would get me in trouble. I'll just say, 8 year olds are allowed to make other major decisions in today's society. Yes! So many of the guys I played with in HS have had their lives ruined because they played football. Even though the rules and equipment were so much safer back then. I'll agree with this.
  3. I've seen it both ways for Math, Science, English, etc teachers also.
  4. I THOUGHT during the state game the announcers said the SA QB was a senior. He'll be a tough one to replace.
  5. 6A Center Grove over Elkhart (maybe a year early, but I say they upset Westfield)) 5A Cathedral over Dwenger 4A Mt Vernon over Mooresville 3A Gibson Southern over Mishawaka Marian 2A Pioneer over Mater Dei 1A Lutheran over Winamac
  6. I would be curious to see who people think these teams will beat. Picking Cathedral to win 5A isn't really going out on a limb. I'm curious to who everyone thinks will be in the state championship games and who will win the match up. Just trying to make it a little more interesting.
  7. When I first started teaching, I had an experienced teacher tell me "Look out for yourself, because schools won't be loyal to you". As both a bystander and personal experience, I would say in general he was right. Back to on topic. Good for Coach West and FC. What a great hire! He's been a winner everywhere he's been. Hopefully, he'll be able to make FC a competitive program.
  8. I was simply pointing out the similarities between the two. Similarities that some on here have said are VERY important to having a successful program. With that said, I actually believe Noblesville has the right guy up there. Look for them to be more competitive over the next few years.
  9. Harrison isn't overtaking Jeff in the next decade. The only way that COULD happen is if Shanley leaves, which I don't see happening. I'm sure Harrison will beat Jeff here and there, but Jeff will win more conference titles than Harrison will. One could talk about how it's a growing area and F/RL. That sounds a lot like another school that we have a thread about... Franklin Central. Except that thread is questioning whether or not it's a good job. I'm sure the same has been said about Noblesville several times.
  10. I believe Harrison will continue to put up winning seasons, because 1) they are a fundamentally sound coached team. 2) the conference they are in. I'm sorry, but a program that's any real threat doesn't give up 76 points to anyone. I believe the Roncalli game was scheduled on a Wednesday (coronavirus), only giving Roncalli 2 days to prep for that offense. I feel sorry for the Rebels coaching staff! The Zionsville game was 33-6 until mid 4th quarter. The #2's and a couple onside kicks made that score closer than it was. Not if/but when they move up to 6A, I think they will struggle in the playoffs for the near future. I think the only way they get over the hump, is as they continue to grow (enrollment), they start stealing some athletes from Jeff as well.
  11. I didn't catch that the first time. Seems very strange. Perhaps he thought he was going after the other team and not the official? I do think others were trying to stop him. If only #72 were a little faster. Lol
  12. Have you been to Terre Haute? Lol I joke! Seriously, that's a crazy drop in enrollment. I do think it's probably time for them both to change conferences. In most conferences, I believe they would be more successful during the regular season. Having that success, would only help to get out more players. I don't really need to do the research to guess who would be in their sectional in 4A, to know that their sectional would then be easier than it currently is.
  13. Thanks for clarifying! I truly didn't know the exact difference.
  14. Haven't they been a permanent fixture in 5A/6A since the start of the SF? So why would punish St. Joseph because of the success of others?
  15. Didn't Sargins also say Cathedral would beat Castle by 50? I've seen a few of these teams play. I'm going to say Sargins is wrong. I realize Cathedral has a very special team this year and overall a heck of a program, but let's not act like they could compete with 6A, year in/ year out. How'd 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 go? Some of those playoff losses weren't close games. Cathedral has a heck of a program and most years are exactly where they belong in 5A. I also don't think we should punish some, because of success of others. As far as an individual tournament, what kind of competitive person would want that? You're too good, so go play on your own? As a public school, you finally win a state championship, would you really feel like you're the "best" team? I would love to hear the debates on here about how this public school could beat that PP school, but only if they played. Edit: To be clear I'm not trying to speak badly of Cathedral. I think they are the standard, that's why I continued to use them as my example.
  16. Someone's a little grumpy. I never said I didn't intend on playing by the rules. I was simply throwing out ideas. I don't understand why I can't buy an all day ticket in the upper deck for $20. I could leave between games just like everyone on the lower level. Since the seats on the upper deck would be sold for the day, they would not have to disinfect them between games, because nobody else would sit in those seats regardless if the all-day ticket people stay or not. Sorry if my response hurts your feelings.
  17. Agree! Sell the upper deck for all day tickets (cheaper rate), then sell the lower deck as they are now.
  18. Where are you see this at? Are they already for sell?
