This is true. I went to a Catholic school K-8. Most Catholic H.S. cost more than Catholic K-8. My parents couldn't afford it.

Only one game was competitive? MD won by 10. Lawrenceburg was leading at Halftime. Those may not have come down to the wire, but they were competitive.

3 thoughts about programs qualifying: 1) A lot of teams would do their best to avoid any competition during the regular season. Who would want to play "independent" teams like Cathedral, Center Grove or Carmel? MIC and HCC schools already have a difficult schedule. On top of that, how many teams would want to bail their conference? 2) Programs would have to pick between money and increasing their odds to make the playoffs. If I'm Columbus North, I can schedule Perry Meridian or Cathedral. One gives me better odds to make the playoffs, but it cost our school money. This also goes for struggling programs that actually need the money. 3) What happens to teams like Zionsville the past two years? I assume 4 win teams won't make the cut. Keep everything the way it is. Water will find it's level one way or another.

You think the majority of coaches around the state do not care as much about their player's safety as Coach Hart? As far as "thudding up" during practice goes, this is extremely common. Not only in high school programs around the state, but in college programs as well.

Am I missing something? Perry Meridian is receiving votes but FC isn't?

I never thought VL joining the SIAC made any sense. I just couldn't ever see them consistently competing. I hope they get out.

I was researching the EG job and came across this old thread. Is it the same school board? I'm curious if because of the way things went down last time, it will cause some to still see this as a good ol boy situation and not apply. Obviously things took a turn for the worst, but any insight on what the program currently looks like? Returning starters? Youth program? Numbers?

I agree with the fact that not all coaches want to move on to the next "big thing". I agree that I personally enjoy seeing coaches stay at a place their entire career. However, I don't see anything wrong with these lists. All they really do is give recognition to these coaches. Saying that they done such a fabulous job, that other schools may try to poach them. One could come up with a list of guys who had success at one place. It also wouldn't be hard to come up with a list of guys who had success and then moved on to a larger school or a school that some may think is a better job.

Another case where I think the right coach could make it a competitive program.

I've always been a believer that PC could be turned into a decent program. It would certainly take the right coach. I don't know him, but hopefully they have that guy now.

I think the shooting at the Carmel/BD game was the straw that broke the Camel's back. Carmel's fans weren't going to put up with that. I heard this rumor immediately afterwards from credible sources. Also, FC isn't going to the MIC.

I can promise you, Zionsville does not receive a lot of transfers. Zionsville is not open enrollment like Brownsburg.

He's a brilliant coach. I can't wait to watch him and his program take that next step.

I have no idea what they are thinking, but for the kids sake, I hope they have some type of legitimate plan to turn that program around. However, with it posted as "Coaching Position Only", I highly doubt it.
