My daughter played a couple of fall college events at Grand Park. It's not very user friendly. Fortunately we did find a golf cart to get my parents too and from the field from the parking area. The costs of this thing has been dissected enough. I still maintain there is no way this enterprise would fly if it were privately owned. I have looked at building multi-use athletic facilities, I've put pencil to paper with a GC, I could NOT make the numbers work. Granted I'm half way between Indy and Louisville, not near a major metro area. Even at that, Hamilton County is not the easiest area to navigate. The question that begs to be answered, is the facility bringing in enough money to the local economy to make up for the operating expenses. We (ICGSA) have had to change dates twice for our Softball All-Star game, due to hotel space because of events at Grand Park. We typically take about 35 rooms for players, coaches, and staff, I have no idea where parents stay. We eventually moved the venue from Carmel HS to IU.

In the middle of our MSC tour right now, I'll leave it at that for now. We started Saturday at Scottsburg.

No one knows what means what to people. I would suppose only Coach Radtke could answer that. In my short and really mediocre coaching career, I kept two trophies, and one was a 2nd Place LL trophy, that's still on my desk 20 years later. Because it had meaning to me and the group of kids I had that year. Conversely I threw an entire box of 2nd place trophies in the dumpster and didn't even pass them out one year. Things like this are really personal who knows what means what to people?

We've seen several girls playing this season with various teams. By this point of the season the games start to run together, sorry I don't have any specifics.

Our mercy rule games have ended up being about the same real time as normal games. Since the clock doesn’t run until the second half. Of the three we’ve had, one first half was 1:40, followed by a 20 minute half and 26 minute second half. Second game started late, waited on visitors to arrive. 1:20 to play first half, a 20 minute halftime that turned into nearly 30 minutes, took about 30 minutes to play the second half with two scores. Last one similar situation, only we had a clock operator that apparently couldn’t follow instructions. I’m still icing my shoulder. As a crew our games average about 2:12 in real time. We had one this year that was 3:10......two team that had QB’s who could sling it, just not blessed with players that could catch it.

The vast majority of clock foul ups favor the visitors, I have no idea why.

This is no lie, it actually happened to me this week. There was a flag after a tackle on the other sideline. I was on the opposite wing. I went in and got the info from the R, #XX was giving him the business after the tackle. I told the coach what I was told and he said, and I quote "what does that mean"? I said you know giving him the business and he reiterated I don't know what that means. I said coach I'm going to have to ask you to turn over your man card at this time.
