  1. On the way back from the Creek Friday night, listening to hilljack WCBK, the Artesians were talking tough post-game after getting by Silver Creek and how they were ready for East Central. Is this the picture I was getting? Who wears the short shorts? Mullet contest anyone?
  2. FC-no Smiths, Dudleys or Griders nowadays, but there is always a Gilman.
  3. The Creek at FC just as last year's one point game. The Creek likely a bit undersized and youthful in many positions. Gillin and Scott coached teams are likely to find some offense. It is defense where game will be decided. BTW, wondered how bad Greensburg would look. Wow...........heading out at half with score 42-0, asked cuz if you are Greensburg coaches, what do you say at halftime. He responded, "Let's leave it all on the field."
  4. saw 3 Artesian buses go by an hour ago on the way to Sellersburg
  5. Give Martinsville credit, they played the right game against the right team in Plainfield on a rainy night. Plainfield likes to throw vertical and could not in that weather. Another head scratcher year for Artesians with getting shellacked on their own field by Greenwood, then edging DC at home. Martinsville likes to run with Shrake, a less vertical team than in the past. Lost many multi-year starters from last season. Can check out some games here if you want: https://www.youtube.com/@MHSRewind/videos?view=2&sort=dd&live_view=503&shelf_id=0
  6. Logistical with seeding. rewarding top team with long distant road trip is IHSAA special.
  7. This makes too much sense. Needs to be more like the current blind draw where Providence travels to Eastern Greene to open sectionals.
  8. Cuz must be sadistic. Wants to go see the Creek welcoming Honda. So, I will be there. Hoping for a mercifully quick game to get home early. Also, on October 1st, was on the way back from Newport that night and before could get out of Cincy was nearly wrecked by a large, dark hilljacked Dodge trying to pass vehicles in the backed up exit lane before crossing the out of bounds. would estimate speed in excess of 90. Did not see any signs of clown art, so ruled out the Klown off a weekend bender.
  9. Maybe it was 2008 that there was hysteria from Southridge posters.
  10. Appreciated Brownstown having an awesome, fearsome crowd in 2004 sectional that seemed like many had been tailgating since the night before, getting rowdy. Tri-West was air raiding over everyone that championship season. I recall the Huntingburg crowd touting their best team ever on this board before semi and would punish the Braves.
  11. 2021 was lost due to the subpar OL IU fielded. Penix, when teamed with DeBoer and staff has been a performer.
  12. Sounds like will be a good, competitive semi (barring a prior big upset) at Indian Creek for unfamiliar foes. Saw South Dearborn a few years ago at Martinsville while in 4A.
  13. I recall as a young fella that Wilbur Snyder was the World's Most Scientific Wrestler. I would nominate Bobby Cox as the World's Most Scientific Athletic Commissioner.
  14. Would not the Creek hosts South Dearborn? Always believe a distant travel to be a homefield advantage.
  15. good thing they aren't playing Marshall.
  16. It is sr night for Martinsville and Mooresville is coming off a big win on their sr night last week.
  17. An example back then if one had been arguing for a running clock mercy rule in NCAA during the era of I-option offense. Did not the U refer to the Husker 3-3-5 D as "prehistoric" in their game prep for the 84 Orange Bowl against that invincible Nebraska team?
  18. FC-the sophomore qb is getting better, but, good coaching brought the pressure hard last week for the win. Having a good, veteran defense is what wins a lot of close games, especially tournament games.
  19. I have come to accept that likely we are just fortunate to have a crew to officiate so the game can be played. If they seem to not stand out negatively, that is a major plus. High school on down, it is passion only, just as stringers used to be. Best to just thank them for putting in the effort of showing up and trying. A lot of car miles with gas so expensive.
  20. Feels like a true blender conference this year-the dream of the NFL: parity and the offspring of Bobby Cox's balls theory of tournament draw.
  21. W Ky had one of the top rushing attacks in nation that year.
  22. In 2007, Kevin Wright was coaching at Western Ky, not Warren Central. And, that 2007 team Warren team was not so good having lost a lot of top players.
  23. Maybe Bell can join Eflus in Chicago to get things turned around, especially those 4th down calls. Will look forward to seeing them on a Manningcast.
  24. Noted Lawrenceburg got more votes than Batesville in 3A the week after.
