  1. Again, I didn't want to start a p/p argument. I know Chatard has a history of excellence, and it's well-earned.
  2. At the risk of starting another argument altogether, Chatard is not a public school...though the parishes that feed Chatard must be chock full of football talent.
  3. They are deserving of the ranking. Dismantling LC was exactly what they were expected to do. Seven touchdowns in the first quarter is more than impressive.
  4. Not sure what that has to do with New Pal. The score you are speaking of, if I am correct, is Warren's 70-27 win over Ben Davis in 2018. Ben Davis is 2-1 vs. Warren since that time including a win when Warren was #1. BD also has a MIC title and a final four appearance. I know you keep forgetting last season occurred. Talent ebbs and flows. Experience plays in the MIC. The 2018 team at BD was largely made up of youngsters or players who had not much in the way of varsity reps the previous years. Warren's 2018 team was one of the best in Indiana since at least 2010 and arguably this century. I know you will chalk this up as me making excuses, but it happens. I'm sure New Pal is dealing with the normal cycle that should normally happen in a school of their size. The days of complete and sustained dominance are over. Very few teams have been immune no matter the class. That's just my two cents, though.
  5. . https://fox59.com/news/coronavirus/mayor-health-department-director-providing-update-on-marion-county-covid-19-measures/ "Up to 1,500 individuals are allowed to attend outdoor athletic events for high schools; indoor events can have 500 people or 50% capacity of the venue, whichever is less. Those rules, Caine stressed, apply only to high school athletic events."
  6. I can't remember if it was in the first half or not, but BD came back to beat Carmel a few years back after being down 24-0 up at Carmel. BD won 28-24 in regulation. Sorry, that game was at BD.
  7. I'll go Ditka 296, Center Grove -3 It'll be a close one there Bob.
  8. From a competitive balance, this is interesting. From a travel perspective, it's not happening.
  9. I doubt the Circle City Conference (a private school Catholic/Jesuit league) would willingly accept teams like Jeff or Harrison (public big outlying schools). Circle City=Indianapolis Conference Indiana is already on life support. I'm not sure how it's still alive, frankly.
  10. Warren's defense is brutal. Pike won't have an answer, IMO. BD is coming around for sure.
  11. Sorry, I misunderstood. My apologies. I thought you were referring to Brownsburg/Ben Davis for some reason. No room at the inn. It's my understanding (unconfirmed but I've heard) that BD is locked up with Brownsburg and Avon for the forseeable future in non-conference games. It would be fun, though.
  12. May play again in the Regional. Coach Shanley has big school assistant coaching experience too. He was on Mike Kirschner's staff here at Ben Davis.
  13. Great piece by WTHR on Cade Thompson...a Ben Davis sophomore football player who was diagnosed with cancer. Cade is the brother of Brock and Trevor Thompson and the son of former MLB player Ryan Thompson. https://www.wthr.com/article/sports/local-sports/cade-thompson-faces-unexpected-cancer-diagnosis/531-67a3abaf-7131-43f5-adc3-baabc10ea190
  14. North Central, Center Grove, BD, and Warren
  15. (BD had three defensive Indiana All-Stars including the defensive back Mr. Football in James Banks)
  16. Four seasons, but I really saw a difference in the way the series was played during his time there. It became much more about the game than all the other stuff. Well, maybe you should have been paying more attention.
  17. I was talking about DT's original statement. I'm not sure this team's even better than '08 CG yet. Long way to go. If I'm ranking them, I think they have the potential to be up there with '18 WC, '17 BD and teams like that. As far as if we're talking '06 WC or '91 BD, the jury's still out.
